Well... This is very cool. I look forward to posting more!
But, tonight i will start with some info about us. And about how we met.
Mark and i met November 5th,1999 in Guelph Ontario. At that time we were both involved in Scouting, and we're at a Camp. We spent pretty much the intire weekend together. Mark called on Monday night, and again on Tuesday when he asked me out. We didn't go on a date until a week later, where we walked all over town. It was great because we got to talk so much.
At the time we were both in Highschool, we both continued on to Georgian College where he studied Computer Programing, and i Interior Design. Both of us opted to do somthing eles when we graduated. I moved into Graphic Design (which i will graduate from this April) and Mark moved into Music. He teaches at a music studio, does recording and mixing, retail, and admin work. The store is family owned and opperated, he absolutely loves working there.
Mark moved in nearly 2 years ago now. I think us living together has been the best thing we ever did. We really learned alot about ourselves and eachother. It was a good step in our relationship and helped us to realize how much we loved eachother and make the decision that we really want to spend the rest of our lives together.
Novemeber 6th, 2004 Mark asked me to marry him with my grandmothers engagement ring! We drove down to Guelph again, he tried to find the place we met (unfortunetly with no luck). So, when we got back home late at night i went into the bedroom and put on my PJ's, when i came back out to the kitchen he said to me "I can't wait anylonger" got down on one knee... and asked me to marry him. It was the cutest thing!
So... We've been gradually been planning our wedding which is set for June 3rd, 2006. Can't wait!

So... This is where Mar and I are at in planning the wedding.
Reception is booked, Cardinal Golf Club in Kettleby Ontario. It's awsome! So pretty! And it includes catering, dj, open bar, decor, and there is NO cake cutting fee! Horray! I've heard that they can really catch you on somthing like that. Our guests are to arrive at 5pm and have cocktails and horsdourves until 6 when we will do our grand entrance, possibly the receiving line, and dinner at 630. Have yet to decide what will be served though. We plan to serve our cake as desert because we want everyone to eat it. We've seen so many times when they bring out the cake so late and nobody eats it and you're left with tons after. Anyways...
Ceramony will take place at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Mark's highschool chaplin will be preforming the ceramony. This is really kinda cool for Mark.... :D
I have ordered my dress. Maggie Settero - Royal Monica. It should be here in April! Just in time for when i am finishing up classes! I bought a tiara at Claires Accessories for $30! It's awsome! I nearly fell over when i saw how much they were askin at the Bridal shop. I plan to make my own veil. Possibly from my mothers veil (she offered it to me).
Bridesmaids are selected and dresses have been chosen, but not ordered yet. That will be soon. I just need to confirm colour and put down the deposite.
Bridesmaids are
Ashley - Best friend since i was 3 (she lives on the west coast)
Laura - Best friend who i studied Interior Design with
Elizabeth - Marks younger sister
Kim - Marks older sister and Great friend :)
Groomsmen haven't been asked although i belive Mark knows who he wants to ask.
Photographer has been booked! ( http://www.photosbyshiri.com ) With that we also have free Engagement photos. We hope to get those done early in the new year.
Invititations Etc. I have designed the invitations myself as well as RSVP cards, map cards, and all that. I'm planning on printing them at home on cardstock.
So... to date thats pretty much it. I'm sure there are lots of things i have forgotten, or don't even realize yet i need to do. But... there is still time.
I will post photos etc in the near future.

Here are some pictures of the Reception Site. I really love what they have done with the front of the tables with the white lights!

So, it came time to really start thinking about my dress. I had the reception site booked back in November 2004 as well as the Church. So.... there wasn't much for me to really think about until August. I wanted to find somthing before i went back to school in September because i knew everything would run away on me if i waited until Sept.
Anyways, i happened to be driving past a bridal shop in my home town when i saw they had a big sale happening. So i decided to get my mom to come back and take a look with me later on that afternoon.
I really have NO idea what i want. I thought i'd like strapless because i really like the way it looks. I didn't want anything with thick straps or sleeves. Anyways... I have a look, and notice a price tag. $800+ I suddenly got very nervous. I was a little unsure about everything. We pick out a couple dresses, but nothing is really right. I didn't jump for joy.
My mom and i spend the next couple weeks looking at different stores arround town. I finally find one that i really do like! But i still wanted to look and be 100% that that was it. In the end i kept imagining myself in that particular dress when i thought of how everything would look on my wedding day.
So... Here is the dress. I will be having the cap sleeves removed because they looked strange on me. They didn't fit quiet right.

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/dressfront.jpg
I am going to have a veil and tiara as well. I bought a tiara at an accesories shop in the mall for $30. I couldn't bare to spend $100+ on it. I have yet to buy a veil. I am thinking i might make one. My mom has offered to make me one from her veil. So, if the fabrics match i will be doing that.

Bridesmaids dresses where somthing i was REALLY worried about. I stressed for weeks about finding something that would work for everyone. 2 girls are fairly petite, one is 6'0" tall, and my maid of honor had her third child this past October. Plus i was worried about costs. I didn't want to fall in love with somthing that would break the bank.
We found this top, and it was perfect! We all knew it was right when Elizabeth put it on.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/bridesmaidtop.jpg
The top costs $135. So we were thinking maybe we'd buy the top and then have skirts made. All my bridesmaids have access to people who can sew. So we checked out Fabricland and found a pattern with the skirt we liked and a top just like the one we had picked out. We wondered about making tops. But, opted to buy the top. My mom wanted to help out, and pay for the first $100 of the tops, and the girl only have to pay for is the remainder of the top and taxes and the fabric, notions, and pattern for the skirt.
The skirt they have chosen is the green one.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/bridesmaidskirt.jpg
All the girls will be able to find their own black sandles. I would like for them all to wear their hair up which ever way they feel suits them best. I am planning on buying them all necklases for a thank you gift for being apart of my wedding.

I have been thinking about what we should do for place cards at the wedding. I want something very simple and pretty. I've been busy checking out some ideas online and in magazines. These are the ones i have found so far.
This is my favourite so far! I think it would be very pretty on the tables in a pale blue paper...
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/ft_msw03place06_l.jpg
I thought this was neat. But i worry that they might get lost in the napkin. The knot is cute. Very symbolic.

So... today i checked out some hotels in the area. I think we are going to book at the Best Western. Unfortunetly the 'tower' is full so we're going to have to go with the more motel like rooms. These are still fine. I would have prefered hallways on the inside though. Meh. It's one night.
Mark and i are going to the National Bridal Show in Toronto tommorrow! Thats going to be fun! hopefully we'll get lots of neat ideas! I'm trying to figure out what to do as favours. I have been pondering the idea of doing hershy bars with a personalized wrapper. It wouldn't be hard to make. Take a fair amount of time. But it would be cool. I was thinking that we could put a ribbon arround it with a tag that said the guests name. That way we could make that the place card as well! Yippee!
I'm trying to figure out what to do to tell people where they are going to be sitting. I saw an idea with little cards (roughly business card size) laid out with ribbon attached to the back then laid down over a table. I'll try to find the picture again to illustrate this. Anyways.... i want to do somthing cute and unique and us.

I love all your ideas! Everything sounds great so far.
I like the lights behind the tablecloth idea too. I may have to steal that idea from ya!;)
Your dress is beautiful. I can't wait to see pictures of it on you!
I love the place card hanging on the glass idea the best. That is so cool! I have never seen that before. It seems like it would be easy and cheap to do too! BONUS!!:D
I had to steal one of those updo pictures too! I love the third one down.
You have quite a list made there. I gotta force myself to sit down and do that one of these days too!

Steal away! I hope my posts help. I've think i would be much more of a basket case if i didn't have this board to post questions and ideas on. Also i really enjoy having my wedding Journal here. It's been helpful to be able to post all my thoughts and pictures.
I just have to remember to post updates more often. Or.... even check to see if anyone has posted a message for me. Oops!

This past weekend Mark and i went to the National Bridal Show in Toronto. I was VERY disapointed! It cost $7 to park, then $20 for tickets. We each had $5 off coupons!
It was really small! There wasn't alot that was incredibally helpful to me. Lots of reception venues. But i have already got that taken care of. Lots of places to sign up and win trips. Ok.... A couple limo places. But they are ridiculously priced! Invitation design companies.... That was cool cause i can steal ideas... I want to start my own invitation/card/announcement company. A couple of jewellery places, but i plan on wearing my grandmothers jewellery if i can so ya.... The only thing that really got Mar and i go was the tuxedo people who gave him lots of info. But had NO swatches of colours so i could try to find one that matches the bridesmaids. One guy actually made us jump.... he mentioned the Prom is in June.... RIGHT!!! So Mark has to get on getting the tuxes ordered sooner then later!!!
But first! Mark has to ask everyone he wants to be groomsmen to be groomsmen. He had a hard time deciding who he REALLY wanted. Finally now he has, but he's waiting for the right moment. He doesen't want to ask them in passing. Which i can understand. But its hard to get time with his work schedule to have our friends over for dinner or anything. So... when the time is right.... we will have groomsmen.
My mom is really exsited about everything. But i think she's really struggling too. She seems sad at times and has made mention that she's going to really miss me. She's also told me she wants me to move back home and not get married. She knows i have to get married and and is not against it in any way. She loves Mark, but i'm her only remaining child so its tough letting go i think. I wish i could do somthing to make this easier on her. I keep telling her shes not going to loose me. I will always be near her. Mark and i are moving about 20 minutes away from her in the Spring. An improvement from the 50 minutes now. Hopefully when i move we'll find a bigger place with better storage. There isn't alot of space where we are now. Everything seems really junky cause there is NO storage. It's such a pain in the neck.
Anyways.... This weekend we are going to buy a bolt of fabric (16 meters) for the bridesmaid skirts. Then we're going to sit down and make some final decisions for the invitations and try to divy up the To Do list. If we decide what we want for specific things we can just ask people to do it for us.
Well... thats it for now.

YAY YAHOOO WOOH WHOO!
Yesterday we bought all the fabric for the skirts for the brides maids! It was GREAT! Fabricland was having a 50% sale for members only! So since my mom is a member we managed to get 15 meters of heavy coture satin that costs $19.98 normally for HALF PRICE!!! It was awsome! It cost $44.50 fot the fabric, then $35 +tax for the top! Outfits for about $100.00 YAY! The only had enough for 3 of the skirts at the Aurora Store so we had to go up the Bradford store as well. Oh well. It was fun. My mom and i had a great time while my dad and Mark had a great time building things at my parents house. ooooohh renovation time! Getting everything updated for the wedding!
Anyways! I'm so exsited that we got that done! huge to do off the list! I still have to distribute the fabric and patterns if they don't already have a pattern and the girls have to have them made. While we where there we also got some fabric to make all the girls a purse, and white satin to make a ring pillow and a bag for me and morgan my flowergirl/neice.

Alright!! Sounds like a great day!!
Do you have pics of the fabric yet? What a deal!! :bbeek: Did you know they were having a sale or did you just get lucky? :D

My mom new the sale was coming up. So we planned to go scope it out last week, then came in yesterday. It was great! I got alot of stuff. I got the white satin ribbon to wrap the bouquets with. It was buy 1 get 2 for free! So i got 6 meters of ribbon for the price of 2. I'm looking forward to feb, they are supposedly having 40% everything for members all month.
I will post a picture of the fabric later on this afternoon.

Mark and i have decided that i am going to wear flip flops to the wedding and he is going to wear All Star converse running shoes. We're thinking it would be cool if we could get all the other guys to wear them as well. Possibly one of the groomsmen would wear a red pair just to be different. But not mark or the bestman. I dunno.... we'll see.
Here are the shoes mark's gunna wear
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/shoes_id02619.jpg
I'm still looking for my shoes. White flip flops hopefully with a little decoration on the straps. All the spring/summer stuff is begining to filter into the stores so i will hopefully find something soon.

Well... I haven't posted any updates for while. There really hasn't been too much to report. There is a ton of things for us to be doing. But.... We haven't been doing that. There hasn't been alot of time and the weather has been miserable so we don't want to go anywhere.
I'm still waiting for Mark to ask the rest of his groomsmen to be groomsmen. Atleast we have a bestman and 1 groomsmen.
I hope this weekend we can go pick out our wedding bands. I will have to have mine made i think. A perfectly circle one would look funny. And since my ring was my grandmothers there is no matching band with it. If there was one i think she was burried with it. or.... it was never bought. While we're out i want to get to The Bay to update our gift registry, check out prices on Tuxes etc. I'm really not sure what to do.... but i feel like i need to do somthing.
I'm gong to begin printing the invitations this week. My mom and MOH are going to help out and trim some of the invites for me. After they're all trimmed we are going to mount them to black canson paper and trim them out again! LOL! i'm crazy! But! They will look beautiful! I'd like to do a glitter on them.... but i think that it will just make a mess in the envelope.
Well.... hopefully i will have lots to post soon. Hopefully some more pictures and such.

Alrighty...
Well, we re-worded our wedding invitations tonight.
The harmony of love
meets the melody of life
to create our love song.

Brian.. & Ildi....
invite you to celebrate their wedding
Saturday the Third day of June,
Two-Thousand and Six
at Three O'Clock in the afternoon
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church
Formal sinner and dance reception
at Five O'Clock in the evening
Cardinal Golf Club
We changed the wording to reflect mark's love of music. Mine too... but with him being a musician.... it's a major part of our lives. Slowly the wedding is becoming music themed. It's kinda fun!
Tonight i am feeling a bit worried about the ceramony. We are supposed to be attending the church on a regular bases. But with me being at school its a 45 min drive to get there. But we haven't been going as much as i think we should. So i am hesitant to start printing and putting together the invitations because i'm worried that they will say no they won't marry us there. I haven't gone to church in years... It was important for Mark to get married in the Catholic Church, and the priest from his high school has agreed to marry us as well. But it feels like it is so difficult to get him going. I know that when we live closer we'll be going much more, especailly because we plan to raise our children catholic.
I really just don't know what to do to get him going more. I'm so scared of being disapointed. I really want to be married there.

Jen, don't worry. They will understand that you can't be there every week. If they already said that they would do the ceremony then they can't back out now. By the way, do you have a contract? If you do, then you are set. But if not you might want to think about getting one to put your mind at ease. You should have a contract with EVERY vendor anyway. I don't care how good of friends or nice of people they seem. Also, you could call and "confirm" your date with the church office and the priest.
By the way, I noticed on your invite wording, it says sinner not dinner. I am sure it is just a typo (I make lots of those). But I thought I would point it out in case you did a copy and paste kind of deal. My friend sent our invites to her wedding telling everyone to go to the gaxebo as opposed to the gazebo. I don't want to see someone else make a mistake like that. A note to all you ladies....whether you are having invites printed or making your own, have at least 3 other people beside yourselves proof read them. Our eyes tend to gloss over mistakes as we go because our mind KNOWS how it is supposed to look and reflects that. Other people reading over things will help to avoid that issue.

Thanks Lacey... I'm talking to my FSiL/MOH about what to do about the Church. They live down the street and go every week. Plus since she's marks sister she might be able to mention it to him in a different way that might get him thinking more about it. I just remembered now that we also still have to do a marriage prep-course. I should call today for information on when they are running.
I didn't copy and paste the text. It does say dinner on the actual invite. I'm hoping that my mom and FSiL will proof it tommorrow. Mark read over them last night.
AHHH So much to do!

AH HA!
I LOVE my mom! I called her this afternoon in a total state of panic about the church and the marrige prep course we have to take. She called arround to a couple churches in her town and got us into one in March. 2 evenings and one all day class. I'm so happy! I was having a total melt down when all the churches i had called weren't having any until next fall! Plus! It's not one night a week for a number of weeks so it should be easier for Mark to take off work. He will have to re-schedule some lessons or find a replacement for Thursday and Friday but it should be ok. If not.... then i guess we'll be married by a Justice of the Peace.
I feel like i have 100 pounds lifted off my shoulders. Now i just have to confirm that we are still able to get married in the Church and i'm going to ask Mark to make those calls tommorrow for us.
I'm going to go do the 'GOTMARRIAGEPREPCOURSEBOOKEDDANCE' now!

Well... This weekend Mark and i went out to look at some rings. I had to have my wedding band custom made. So my ring is off in Aurora where they are making a wax mold. Next week i should be able to sign off on it and have them make it. We also bought a ring for Mark... a two tone white and yellow gold band. Very nice. They had his size so we were able to buy it right then.
Yippee!

Everything looks great!! You can get the blue Jordan Almonds to put in the bird's nests. It looks like Robin's Eggs. So cute!
Your jewelry is nice, and congrats on getting your rings. Doesn't it feel good to be done with these things?? :bbmrgreen: Just take a breather and relax. You deserve it after all this work!
Those are peonies, right? That's my second choice to roses. I love it!!

It's been a great week for getting things done and moving closer to the wedding. Yesterday i went out with my mom and in a matter of 20 min we found her outfit for the wedding! She has been sooo worried about finding somthing she really liked and that would compliment the colours i have going in the wedding. Alfred Angelo has some amazing new stuff for 2006. She got a teal a-line skirt with a natural silk dress shirt that wraps arround rather then buttons. It's simple stunning! I was so exsited for her! She looked really happy wearing it!
While we were at that store i saw this great necklace too! $39.99.... which was great! Then i found out it also came with matching earings and a bracelet.... included in that $39.99! I couldn't say no! So i got BM gifts! I was so exsited!

Nothing feels like putting another notch in the 'Wedding Stuff Done' belt. Congrats on the great finds, and I'm glad that your mom found an awesome outfit!!
I'm a little worried about what my mom is going to wear. It's usually embarrasing.

This is the closet picture i can find to the outfit my mom just got. Can you tell i am exsited about it? The neck is a little more open and its a cream colour and the skirt is the AMAZINGLY beautiful teal. I love it!

It is very good to have accomplished so much in the past week! I feel like dancin!

ARGH!
The last couple days have been off the charts. I haven't been feeling well because i totally messed up my medications when i forgot them at my mom's house. ugh!
I've been swamped with work. I got a contract to do a rendering for a new resort in Wasaga Beach. It will be about $600.00. But i need to get it done for early to mid next week. Plus i've got a booklet design due on friday.... I've got a good portion of it done.... but not enough yet. I feel like in the last 2 days i have worked all day. Yesterday i left for school at 730am... i was done arround 2pm when i went out with my mom to find the outfit for her, and work on some of the details we needed to talk about that we couldn't do over the phone. I got home at 530pm to get a phone call from the guy i am working with on this contract pushing me to get it done faster. :censored: Drawings don't just fall out of the sky!
I'm working on a DVD case.... I had my roughs and concepts due this morning. So last night i had to do 10 roughs then 3 more developed concepts. I spent 4 hours working on these. I was surprised when Mark came home.... it didn't seem like it had been that long that i had been working on it. I had a critique this morning and i think i got the best compliment i have gotten for a while. My teacher didn't really have much to say to improve the design, and he didn't want to write on my page because he thought my concept was so nice. I think that made my day.
Here is my work.... i need to figure out if i want to do the first or second back cover design....

Another step forward!!!
I took the RSVP Cards and Map Cards in today to get printed.... i couldn't take the invitations at that time like i had hoped because i STILL didn't have confirmation from Mark that we could still get married at Our Lady of the Lake. I was happy to hear that the cards would be ready for this afternoon when i hoped to be able to drop off the invitation file. But.... when i went back they had closed early because the weather was so crappy. :censored:
I understand... but the RSVP's and map cards are trapped inside.... and the invitations which i now have confirmation on are locked outside. :bbconfused: I e-mailed the file so hopefully it will be ok and they can be printed tommorrow so i can pick them up on Monday before going to my moms to do all the trimming and gluing.
I'm glad that the church has been confirmed... and that half of the invites are out getting printed... i'll just feel better then they are all in my hands and i can start putting them together!

Well... It's another sleepless night. So i thought i would get some work done on the wedding.
This is what i've come up with tonight.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/Tablecards.gif
I was thinking i wanted to do conversation starters on each table.... But i'm having a tough time coming up with questions tonight. So far i have...
1) How do you know the Bride and Groom?
2) What's your favourite memory of the Bride and Groom?
3) Who has travelled the furtherest to be here today?
I'm also messing arround with a different logo. I'm not sure if i should go down that path or not since i already did one that is on all the invitation materials. I want there to be consistancy through out all the print materials. I'm hummin and hawin over it now. I really like the look of the Monogrammed stuff.

This afternoon my mom and i went out to Micheals. We found a very pretty flower ball. We thought it might be really nice for Mark's neice Morgan to carry. She is going to be the flower girl, however, you can't throw petals on the floor of the church. So... i wanted to come up with another option, and somthing she could keep. She is sooooo exsited about the Wedding! She keeps saying that soon i will be her Aunt. Which is great! However her parents have already told her she can call me her aunt now, i've known her mom since before she had Morgan.
Anyways... we also bought a basket to place all the bubbles in. There is a blue gingham ribbon arround it now. Which conviently has been velcrod on so it will be easy to remove. I'm thinking i will use some of the black satin i have bought for the bridesmaid skirts, then do a cloudy blue ribbon on the left side. Now i'm wondering if i should have a basket for the programs to go in... maybe. It's great with easter coming up there are baskets everywhere!
Mark and i stopped by the jewellers today to see the mold of my wedding band. It's beautiful, John (the jeweller) created a nice line arround it and has it a bit raised at the top to match the line of my engagement ring! I wondered if it was going to be a bit too thick... but it's difficult to imagine when it's purple wax. I'm sure it will look great when its all done!

My flower girls are carrying little flower balls too. I think they look cute doing that. You reminded me that I need to pick up a basket for my bubbles. Just when I htink I am FINALLY done shopping I remember that I have to get something else. Oh well, a basket will probably be one of the cheapest things that I buy and I might actually be able to use it again too. Can you believe that we are getting so close?

Oh i know! I'm frightend almost!
Last night i typed up my new list of things to do, then some how i managed to delete it. I was very fustrated! When i have a moment i will re-write it. It's really detailed and HUGE! I can't figure out where i need to start.
A friend of mine who i used to work with does some wedding planning on the side so i hope to go over everything with her so i can figure out where my priorities lie.
Last night when i couldn't sleep i created a new logo. Mark approved of it this morning when i showed him :D

I found my shoes! I am so happy! i was really worried about that because i have a high arch so alot of shoes don't fit right. I really want a flip flop because they are so comfy and they are very me! I love wearing flip flops and my birkenstocks. I really hate wearing real shoes. I also wanted something low because Mark is only an inch taller then me so i REALLY didn't want to be towering over him.

I have been thinking alot about what to do for our favours. We want to do a donations to a charity. But i want to have somthing for everyone to take home with them. I was thinking about a CD of our favourite songs. The only thing is that i am not sure about the downloading and making CD's. I will have to find out if there are any rules arround that or not.

I was thinking that would be nice, but now i am not sure. Mark things that there could be problems with doing that. Legaloties in Canada. I need to do some research into it.
Although this morning i thought maybe we could get his band to record a couple songs at the music store he works at and possibly his brother in law and his brothers band.
It would be a great way to showcase Marks talent and passion for music and my passion for art and design. Plus.... you never know who might be looking for a jazz band or a rock band for a function. It gets our names out there. LOL promo and wedding meet. You never would have thought i have working in public relations and promotions.
I'm waiting for Mark to get back to me on my idea. He's teaching until 9pm and then has band practise tonight.
Well see Well see! I'm worrying to much about this i think some days!
Jenn060306
02-25-2006, 11:10 PM
We decided tonight that we are going to only record Mark and some of the songs he has writen. My mom was really worried about copyright infringements so we needed to figure out a way arround that. So that is somthing Mark can work on at the store on his days off.
I am going to do all the artwork for it. Hopefully use our engagement photo (when we get them done) On the inside i want to note everyone who is in the bridal party and thank our parents and possibly acknowledge our grandparents and my brother who have passed away.
I was thinking maaaaybe i might put a love poem. I'm not sure. I am going to have to mess arround with it a bit. Who knows!

This is the program you're talking about, right? A love poem would be nice.
I'm thinking about having someone do a poem as a reading... I'm having doubts about them though.. I tihnk that they're a bit sppy for me and Carlo. We're not really that kind of people.. But I might regret it if we don't do one.. you know?
What poems are you thinking about? I have no idea what we would choose.

I haven't even sat down to look at poems honestly. I had the idea, but haven't moved ahead with it.
I was talking about the booklet inside the CD. I was going to do a new cardstock CD case but everyone out voted me to do a plastic CD case with a nice insert. True it will last longer, maybe just not as artistic as i had hoped. I think it will still look good.

This poem is one that Mark gave me a couple years ago. He didn't write it. It came on a fancy little scroll thing that has been knocked arround by the cat one to many times now i think.
LOVE
Love is not a matter of belief
It is a matter of demonstation
It is not a question of authority,
Bt one of perception and action...
Therefore, if you desire love,
Try to realize that the only way to get love
Is by giving love.
That the more you give,
The more you get;
And the only way in which you can give
Is to fill yourself with it,
Until you become a magnet of love.
I always thought it was nice, and i belive it too. You truly need to show that you can love to receive love. I might include this... but i'm not sure.

OH OH OH! I totally forgot about this until just now.... but one of our groomsmen is a videographer/producer for a local television station. So he decided he wanted to borrow some equipment from work and record the ceramony for us and part of the reception for us as our gift! How Rockin!
Since he is apart of the bridal party he's going to set up 2 different cameras to record everything then edit it all together afterwards.
I am very exsited about this! We talked briefly about having the whole 'Any advice for the new couple?!' Segment at the reception. Who knows. But i think this will be really neat! I never thought about having our wedding on tape before. :D

So the last 4 days have been a total mess. I am a mess. I am at the end of my rope, my head is pounding. I feel kinda like crawling into my bed and forgetting that to world ever exsisted.
My trust in people has really been tested. I was asked to do a drawing for a resort. I did a pencil drawing, gave it back to the client for approval. They signed off on it and now that i have rendered it they don't like it and refusing to pay. So the guy who contracted me to do it doesen't want to be out of pocket and now want's me to meet with his client and basically justify paying me the deposit which they have already done. This guy who contracted me out already told me how terrible these people are, he says that they use their language barrrier to their advantage and he thinks that because i am so sensitive they will just beat me down.
So i am at the point where i am going to get all my artwork back from him, return the deposite and call it a bad lesson in ****ty people and trusting anyone. My mom is going to help me come up with a check list of everything i need to have from any potential client and any contract work i do. Because i am still learning, there are things i have now learned the hard way.
I am so fustrated with myself too. I feel like i am too sensitive and i wear my heart on my sleeve too much. I can't figure out how to tougthen meself up and learn to be stronger and bitchier. At this point i am so distraught and depressed i really don't feel like doing anything. I have so much work to be doing for shcool and i really feel like why bother. There is so much i should be doing for the wedding, and i feel like why bother? I have no interest in doing it right now. Not that i don't want to marry Mark... i just don't feel like putting my heart and soul into it right now. I feel like i have lost it. Like it has been ripped out and stomped on. The last couple days have really made me question my skills. Am i good designer/ artist. I kinda want to give up.... i can be a stay at home wife.... I can paint on the side and sell my paintings. I figure... if you don't like the painting as is. Don't buy it. I won't do any contract work for anyone. I will do paintings for friends and family because i can trust them but thats it.
ARGH! I want this all to be over.... Can it be July?! Can i be done the wedding, have my new name, my new home and just chill?! Hopefully Mark will come home and make everything better tonight. Cause i want to give up right now.

Ahh Jenn, I'm so sorry that you are stressed out right now. Do you have the time to take 2 days and just forget school and the wedding and just relax? Or even just forget one for the time being. I'm sure you are great at what you do. Just by the couple of things you have posted on here, it looks like you have a lot of talent. Go take some time to kick back and relax.

I am sorry Jen. But here is my advice. And since it is coming from me, the great one, you know it is pretty solid. It doesn't matter how nice or nasty you are, the world is still gong ot be filled with :censored: . You just have to accept it and move on. It isn't a reflection on you. There is nothing wrong with being a nice person but in business that attitude just doesn't cut it. In the future have an airtight contract that spells everything out and make sure that they know ALL work is copyrighted by you and that no matter what if they cancel the job they forefit all of their deposit and a percentage of payments that have been made after a certain point of time. Also, stipulate what language ALL business is conducted in. If they have an issue with that than their business can go elsewhere. There is point in getting upset or discouraged by it. It isn't worth your time. This won't be the last time you deal with people like that in the world. You can't just run and hide from them because they are everywhere.
Go get yourself a good business attorney and have them draw up a contrat for you. Then get yourself another good business attorney and have them review it for it for you. Just take a day and relax, you have lots of time before the wedding. Don't let these people get to you.
StaceyMc

I'm so sorry about your business problem. Don't let those morons discourage you though. There are idiots everywhere in the world of business and some of them like nothing better than screwing someone else over.
Take Lacey's advice and have a contract made up for you to use.
Take some time off, even if it's just for a few hours and just relax....don't think about anything school, work or wedding related. Take some me time.

03-01-2006, 03:17 PM
Thanks very much for you're kind words and advice.
I hate having to learn things through mistakes. I know i need to get a tougher back bone for the business world, but i just don't know how to do it. I can take all the critism in the world from my profs, but this one really hit home on me.
My uncle is a lawyer so i am going to get him to help me with this stuff. And Mark and i have been talking about registering a business in our names for graphic and web design. He is much better at the whole business part then i am, and he works with clients who are not always the nicest every day. The past couple days have made me feel like this is really the way to go rather then me doing it on my own.
I am planning on going tommorrow to get my artwork back and return the deposite and call it a :censored: lesson in business and trusting people.
This whole thing has really made me think about how much i trust my gut. Or don't trust it when i really should.
I would love to take some time off from everything. This weekend Mark is away so i am here all by my lonesome. I think i am going to work on my school work and do some design stuff for the wedding. The fun stuff. I want to catch up on my sleep because i haven't been sleeping so well lately and not answer the phone if anyone i don't know or don't want to talk to calls. Hell.... maybe i'll unplug it. If its an emergancy.... they'll call my cell only my family have my cell number. Awww i really wish i had some more positive things to say right now. I kinda feel like the queen or doom and gloom. Hopefully Friday will go well for picking out the flowers for the wedding and that will brighten my spirits.

I found this picture today when i looking through the photos on my HD. This is a photo i took of one of my mom's peonies at her house. I really love this shade of pink! This is what i want for my boquet... with either white or pink tulips or roses.... we'll see what i find on Friday.

Yesterday i stopped by a flower shop to look at some flowers and got talking to the owner about my ideas for wedding flowers. She told me it would be about $10 a stem to get Peonies in because they would have to be brought in from Holland. I couldn't belive it! My mother's garden will be blooming with peonies and i have to get them shipped from Holland?!?!?
So now i have to come up with a new idea. I did some searching and i think i might not be so opposed to roses. I don't know why i am, i just feel like they are so.... typical. But i saw some fancier like ones that i liked.

For mixed flowers this one seems to be my favourite. I think i need to be more open to ideas. Hopefully i will do well today when i go to the greenhouse.
I'm still bummed out that my MOH won't be coming with me to look at flowers. I had asked her like a month ago to go and suddenly she realized she now has to take the baby to the dr. and her husband apperently has to go do all the shopping for the boy's weekend at the cottage at the same time i wanted to go to the flower place. I was very fustrated that they couldn't wait until after 4. It's not like they can leave before 9 when Mark is done work anyways.

Today i went to a local green house to get some ideas on flowers and see what there was. I was a bit disapointed because the woman who does the wedding flowers had the personality of a stick. :bbconfused:
I ended up buying a dozen pink roses so i could take them home and try playing arround with them in the vases i bought.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1614.jpg
I played with them and came up feeling a little short. It looks really ammeture which is kinda disapointing. I think if there was some ivy it would look better.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1617.jpg
So i went with my mom over to the local groccery store where a friend of hers is the floral department manager to talk to her about some ideas. Mabel is sooooo wonderful! She made my day! Absolutly! She was so receptive and was really positive and exsited about the pictures i had to show her or what i liked. Maybe it's cause she's my mom's friend. Maybe because she is just a wonderful person. But it was great!
Tommorrow they are having a sale on Roses so we are going to go and she's going to come up with a couple ideas for us. She also offered to do the flowers for the wedding for us for free! :w00t: All we have to do is feed her and pay for the cost of the flowers! I would gladly have her for dinner if that means i will get my boquets and centre peices for cost! YIPPEE!
She said it would be...
$15 per dozen roses
$6-$8 for 5 gerber daisies
$10 for a dozen tulips
She's thinking it would be a dozen roses for the BM boquets and 2 dozen for mine. Then a mix of gerbers and tulips. This has totally made my day!
I want to get her a gift to say Thank you for helping. I know i have lots of time to think about it, but i'm not sure what to get. I'm really not very good with finding Thank you gifts.

Yippeee!
This morning was so great! Mabel made 2 different flower arrangements for me. One with dark pink roses and one with light pink roses. She decorated it all up with tulle and such. I think i really like the darker pink. But i can do a mix of pinks and white if i want as well.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1618.jpg
At first i wasn't so sure about the tulle through the flowers, but it's grown on me. And when the roses open up some more it will look better she said.
I also really like the tulle arround the vase. I think it adds just that right somthing without being too much!
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1619.jpg
I don't care so much for the bow on this one. the crystal pins are a nice touch. But then its a bit more one sided.
I'm very happy, and i think (hope) these colours will look good on the white table cloth with black napkins. Now i am starting to think i should have gone with Black white and pink as my colour theme. But i still really like the cloudy blue tops the BM's will be wearing with black skirts. Plus the guys will appreciate blue vests over pink vests. I can't change it now. I think it will look awsome. I hope. LOL

If it matters I like the first one. With the pins and the bow the first one looks a little busy for my taste. But hte first one is nice. I can see it with a mix of lighter and darker pink roses. Is the tulle white or pink?

I like the first one myself. I really feel like the pins and bow are too much as well. I want to find a pick of the mix of pinks before i make a decision.
The first one's tulle is a really pale pink and the second one is white.

Maybe try it with white or ivory tulle when you get your rose color settled on. Pink on pink with more pink could be a bit much on the eyes.

So.... there is a strike. Which is a bit of a good thing but more of a bad thing. It's good because i have a little bit of time right now which i feel like i need. I'm a little bit over done and need a break. I can put some more time towards creating the wedding collateral like the program and menu cards, place cards and CD artwork, seating chart etc. But i still feel like i will need this time more in the end of April and through May.
I don't know what is going to happen with the classes we are now going to be missing. They are talking about extending the semester. Which i belive they only have two weeks before the summer semester is set to begin. I'm wondering if they will put us into a summer semester. Normallly my program doesen't have one. So that will be interesting. I don't exactly have the time in May to attend class. But if i have to i have to and i will even more need the help of my Bridesmaids and family. But... i am also worried about them condencing the semester. If they do that, then i might miss out on a project or a learning oppertunity. That bothers me alot because i spent alot of money to be there and to learn specific things.
I'm a bit freaked. I'm not sure what i will do with it, i'm worried that it will be really long. The speculation is it might be about 4 weeks long. Based on the demands of the faculty. But, there is only 5 weeks in the semester to go. I am so paranoid about getting everything done and keeping all my hair! I feel like ok... maybe i might send my inviations out a little early.... i'll have them done earlier. But then maybe that might be tooo early and be weird for some people. I don't know. I just don't want to be wasting my time while i have time. I feel like i need a good action plan. I haven't been able to come up with one. But i have also only known about the strike for 7 hours now. I think my mom will have a good idea on how to handle this. She's probaly up worrying about it herself. Hopefully i will be able to sort through what needs to be done tonight and get on some of it. I think we're able to go pick up our marriage licence now. 90 days before the date. So i might get on doing that. And possibly i might arrange to meet with Mark and his boss (who is playing music at the ceramony) during the week rather then after marks done work on saturday.
I wish this whole thing could go smoother.

I don't see a faculty strike lasting 4 weeks. Don't even worry about it. By the end of the week things will calm down and they will be back in the classroom. Trust me, teachers want to be in their classrooms. Just take the next few days getting everything don.e WOrk on your invitations. Get them all ready and stamped then stick them in the closet. That way when miling day arrives you just have to drop them at the post office.
Stop worrying about things. Especially the ones that you can't control. 99.999% of the time everything works out. Calm down.

I second everything that Lacey said.. Just try and relax as much as you can. Take a breather. Spend a day in your jammies, just doing wedding stuff and chilling out. Try and get all of the designs finished so that you don't have any more creative energy to spend on it.. That's really the most time consuming thing.
I feel your frustration, sweetie.. Just try to take advantage of this time while you have it! :bbmrgreen:

I just got a call from my friend laura who is one of my bridesmaids! She is in the middle of having the skirt she's going to wear to the wedding made and she found out that it has a train! It wasn't indicated on the pattern that there was a train. She put it in thinking if it didn't look right she would take it out. Apparently it looks awsome! I am so exsited! That will give it a extra little bit of formal to the outfit! It's not huge, but a couple inches long.
This has totally made my night! I told her to take pictures and send them to me since she lives in Ottawa. I can't wait to see them! :D

Thanks Carrie and Lacey,
I'm really not sure what's happening. Things don't sound like they are close to making a deal. Last night they were saying that managements offer was like a slap in the face. It was worse then the previous offer. Faculty is concerned about pre time and class sizes mostly, which is understandable.
I am definatly going to try to get as much done while i have the time. I was looking for ideas for the thank you cards this afternoon. I got the seating chart layout done, now i need to insert the guest names. :D
Thanks for you're kind words.

Cool!!!!! Sorry about the strike, if seems like they're going to have to comprimise. It stinks that teachers get paid what they do. Texas is REALLY bad about it.

This is my latest creation!
I picked up the Champaign glasses at Ikea. 25cents a glass! 144 for $36! Picked up some Hershey's kisses. I really like it. I'm worried that Mark won't be able to get the CD done. He talked to the guys at the music store he works at. They think its an awsome idea. If he can get it done in time. He might be able to only do one maybe 2 songs.

The favors look nice. I love the ikea champagne glasses! I just love Ikea in general. I read an article a while ago about the cult following that store had. Anyway, you might want to add a tag that has your names and date on it. Just to give people something to hold onto.

We are planning on putting a tag on it, i just haven't had a chance to make them. The ribbon will be more of a soft blue, there its tealish.
Ikea is craziness, i worked at one when they were openning a couple years ago. The first customer showed up 3 days before the store openning and camped out at the front door. They won a $1000.00 gift card (which is pretty awsome). There was a couple who got married there before the doors openned on opening day. I had to get a ride in to work that morning because we were being incouraged not to park in the parking lot, my dad had the worst time getting in. The place was jammed at it was 2 hours before opening. :bbeek:

Great deal on the glasses! That's a nice favor - something useful for your guests after the wedding.
I love Ikea too...I just wish there was one a little closer to me. I mentioned to Joe last month that I needed a new cabinet for the hallway for towels and stuff before he moves in with me - now, he has an excuse to go to Ikea :)

Mark use to think ikea was stupid. He thought it was too expensive for furniture you have to make yourself. Apperently he had never actually been before. Then i took him one day and he fell in love. His favourite is the show rooms. It really gives him ideas on what we could do with our house. He adores the Markor line.... We plan on getting some new living room furniture and a new sofa as soon as we have the money. I looooooove the brown cordory sofas. They are so cozy and kinda swallow you up. Jenn, I was thinking. You might be able to make something like that last one for a decent price. Get the Mirror letter and then buy some little fake diamond charms and glue them on where you want. Like Carrie did with her topper, bought one, and made it look awesome just changing it a little. Just a thought. Oh, and I love that cake!

Check out www.couturecakejewelry.com
THat's where I got my inspiration. If you can find a plain letter, a glue gun, and some crystals, you're set! I mean, Mine probably costed about that much ($65) to make, but my dad had a Hobby Lobby coupon, so the $55 worth of sparkles actually came out to $30. It might look good even coated in glitter.. Like the ruby slippers. Even as I sit here, and look at my topper, thouigh, it's so worth it, and I'm going to keep it forever.:bbmrgreen:
Good luck sweetie.. I love the cake too. If you're going to put real flowers on it, check out www.organicbouquets.com because they are grown without pesticide. You don't want pesticide on your cake now, do ya'? ;)

I was wondering about making my own. I'm just worried it won't come out as nice as i'd like. I'll see if my mom finds anything.
If not then i will go spend some time at Micheals and Curry's art store to see what i can find.
Organic flowers are a good idea. I didn't think about the chemicals they might use on flowers.
Thanks!

Those are cute!! I like them. You should design this stuff and make your own line of staitonary.. I know that isn't spelled right, but whatever! They are darling. If you have a few moments free, make me a copy.. The bride's hair ought to be honey blonde/brown, and the groom just needs longer hair, around his shoulders. And glasses on the bride too. If it's too much trouble, don't even worry about it. Just be sure and add your signature at the bottom!
I had an idea about your placecards. Do you like bubbles? I invisioned a few bubbles (tinted your wedding colors in that soapy-film-y way) on a solid pastel background. Just a thought!

OMG!!! I think i am going to go CRAZY!
With no class i have no homework and nowhere i really need to be on any day. So i have become such a lazy bum. I hang out in my Jammies all day mess around on the computer making designs for the wedding and such. But i haven't really accomplished anything!
I haven't been able to get myself to do any of my homework until last night. And even with that i didn't do that much. Today i finally broke down and did laundry. I was running out of underware. Pretty sad eh?
I did some work on setting up the file for the place cards and started inputting the names of people i knew for sure where going to be coming. And i printed a stack of Thank You cards so i can start on scoring the folds and cutting them out.
Really it's pretty shameful what i haven't been doing. I feel like i perodically fall off the face of the earth. I'm zoning out and really can't remember what i did all day. What i can remember really isn't enough to fill the day, so it's really made me wonder what's going on.
I need to get myself more motivated to do somthing cause it's all going to hit the fan soon if i don't and then i will be in tears cause i will be so stressed out and there won't be enough hours in the day. :bbeek:

Wellp.... Mark and i met with Paul to talk about the music for the Wedding Ceramony yesterday. We need to find music for the persessional, som, gospel accliamation, signing of the register, and a closing. Paul suggested 'Your love O Lord' because i had a really upbeat funky tone to it which we really wanted for leaving the church after the ceramony. For the signing of the register we are going to use corinthians 13. Then there is also going to be a reading from corinthians. A couple other ideas we have are The Wedding Song for me to walk down the isle to and Packingballs Canyon for somthing eles. Not sure. When Mark and i have more time to sit down and go over it all we will finalize everything. Paul purposly played Your love O' Lord this morning at church so i could hear it. Unfortunetly i wasn't able to atttend because i wasn't feeling well this morning.
It was suggested to us that we try to come up with a mission statement for our new life together. What we want to devote ourselves to. I'm a little wary of this. Its a neat idea but i'm just not sure about it. Again. When Mark and i have time we will talk more extensively about it.
After my freak out the other night Mark promised that we would go look at Tuxes on Monday. But now he's going to help his dad move the rest of the furniture out of her house. So.... the tuxes arn't going to happen til the following monday. Grrrr. He also got an answer for us FINALLY on what marriage prep course we are going to be attending. March 30th,31st, and April 1st. Whirlwind marriage prep!
So i sat down and made a list for Mark of things for him to do. Hopefully he will get it all together and get it done. Next Saturday he's not working but i am out of town so he will have all day to do things :D
I finished address all my invites! (Well the ones i have addresses for) There are 3 people i need addresses for now. And of course. I ran out of envelopes. Apparently i screwed up 20 envelopes because i had 100 envelopes. So now i will have to go buy some more i think. Very fustrating! But it's nice to have all the envelopes done. I will have to have the map cards re-printed soon and do all the stuffing. Hopefully i will be able to do that next weekend while i am away.
Good News! The faculty and management are going to be going back to negociating tommorrow morning! Hopefully by the end of the week i will be able to go back to class. Only thing is now i need to finish my homework. ARGH!

Well i got all the paper work for our Marriage licence today. It will cost $115.00 to get it. :bbeek: I never realized how expensive it was. Ah well, it's worth every penny! :D It's valid for 90 days in Ontario. So March 3rd was the 90 mark.
I was also able to book a hair dresser for all of us to get our hair done at. This completely made my day because my regular hair dresser said he could do it for me then when i went to book it there was another wedding booked for that day. I was really disapointed. Anyways, the Girl at Noggins was very helpful and cheery sounding on the phone so that helped. I hate having to deal with grumpy people when it comes to planning my wedding.
The prices were also very reasonable $55-$60 for my up-do since it will be more intercate and require more time apperently. $45-$50 for the BM's and $20 for my moms. My mom has fairly short hair so she wants to have it styled and set so it won't puff up later on. The bridal party can start at 9am and she said we'd all be done by 1130am which is good since we still have to get back to the house have a bit to eat for lunch, do our make-up, and get dressed so we can leave the house by 130-2pm to get there in time. I was happy to also be able to book my trial run for May 11th.
This is the hair style i am going to go with. I think its the one that will best suit me and my style. I wear my hair up in a messy bun like that alot. So i will still look like myself in my pictures.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/updo-2.jpg
I went looking for some gifts for the groomsmen, flower girl, and ringbearer today and had absolutly NO luck. I went to sears thinking i might be able to find something nice. Nothing! And there was not a sales person in sight to help me. I was really fustrated by it. I will have to ask Mark when he comes home where he got the locket he gave me so i can go look there.
While i was out at the mall i did find a pair of pants/capri's at Old Navy that i love! I love that they roll up and can multi-functioning. I have a pair in white already. But these are brown which is a little more forgiving at the cottage.
I also found a super cute t-shirt with some oriental flowers on the collarbone. $8.00! I was in complete aww! It was actually at the supermarket. They have now added this huge clothing department and they have some super cute things and pajamas to die for! $8 for pj pants or a t-shirt or a tank top. I am debating on getting a pair for the wedding night. I'm not big into lingere, it's not my thing. So i was thinking i would great a really nice pair of pajama pants and a tank top. They have satin ones at LeSenza but i wasn't to crazy about the colour selection.
I was able to get another stack of Thank You cards made last night. And there is hope for the strike yet! My school has announced that assuming the strike is over by April 3rd. I will be done classes on April 28th. Leaving a month still to get everything together for the wedding. :D

Wow.....you must be feeling better. You got a lot done today. CONGRATS!!! :bbeek: .....I didnt realize some Marriage Licenses could cost that much. Here we go down to the court house, show our ID, sign a paper, pay $39 (I think) and Voila! 3 days later you can get married. But ours are only good for 30 days. There are no couseling or blood tests required.

We don't require counselling or a blood test to get them here. We do require a marriage prep course for the church. The way the lady i was speaking to said ours cost $115.00 made it sounds like other municipalities have different costs. I'm thinking i might check out how much they cost in Simcoe County. They are all valid anywhere in Ontario so you'd think they'd all be the same.
Anyways... yes getting so much done really has made me feel better today. I'm wondering a little what eles i can do. I might go work on my favours at my mom's house on Thursday. They all have to be wrapped in clear plastic and have the tags taken off the bottem.

Tonight Dusty (my cat) knocked a picture frame off a bookcase and the glass shattered on the carpet. I was so pissed off because it was on the floor right infront of the bathroom, so we walk through there all the time with no socks or shoes. He seems to get a thrill out of watching things fall. :censored:
So being annoyed and fustrated and kinda being the last thing i needed tonight (esp. after figureing out what we still owe for the wedding) i called Mark on his cell and left a message saying please bring home chocolate. I don't know what. Ice cream, chocolate milk, or a peanut butter kit kat. Which ever.
Mark comes home with all 3! I definatly didn't need all three, but i couldn't belive it. I got a little teary eyed cause he was so sweet.

Mark just told me his dad and step mom are going to pay for something for the wedding for us. What ever we want (up to $1000) Mark REALLY wants to have live music at the cocktails and during dinner so he wants to put the money towards that.
I don't think that the music will cost $1000 so hopefully what ever is left after we pay for that can go to something eles. That news has made me feel a little less stressed about the wedding costs!

That's AWESOME!!!!!! :bbmrgreen:
I'm trying to convince Carlo to have one of his friends play acoustic guitar for the march down the aisle.. Carlo doesn't want that.
It's awesome that you're getting things sorted out. We're trying to figure it all out too.

LOL Carrie! You always make me laugh! Thanks
Mark's boss and his family (minus eldest son because he's the Best man) are going to play music at the ceramony for us. They play music at the mass every Sunday so it just seemed very natural for them. I think if you can get Carlo to ask his friend it would be really nice! I'm sure his friend would be honoured/touched that you asked him to be apart of your wedding in that way. Are you going to have the traditional wedding march or somthing eles?
I'm not nervous yet. I don't know that i will be until i get into the car or to the church and i have to wait. I'm not crazy about being the centre of attention. So having everyone looking at me is a little un-nerving.
Before i know it it will be April. Once it's April i will turn arround once and it will be May, and once it's May i just have to blink and it will be June!. :bbeek:

No, no, no traditional here comes the bride. No effing way, man! :bbmrgreen: Still figuring that out. If I can get Carlo's friend to do it, it will be "Mother Natures Son" by The Beatles from the White Album.
Yeah, I'm gonna sneeze and it's June already. Yikes!!! :bbeek:

mmmm sounds nice! I love the Beatles.
I can't stand the idea of the traditional wedding march either. I think we are having Your love O Lord. But i don't know.
I heard a song the other week that was by the Beatles and i thought it would be perfect for Mark and i to have our first dance to. Now i have completely forgotten what it was. :censored: Another song i was thinking i'd possibly like for our first dance is Better Together by Jack Johnson. It's very upbeat so it would be a fast moving slow dance. Might be better during the middle of the evening.
Shawna has got me wondering about the music that we will enter the reception to now. I am totally drawing a blank. I will definatly have to consult our DJ on that one cause i have no clue!

I'm nearing the end of 3 weeks on involuntary vacation. GRRRR! One more week and the semester will get flushed i think. :censored: Oh well.... i can't do much about it.
I was over at my FSiL/MOH's this afternoon hanging out and trying to figure out how we can cut some costs on the current budget. She's suggested I try to comprimise with Mark on the live music during cocktails and dinner with only doing live music during cocktails. Her thoughts are if there is a live band people won't want to talk the same way and anyone who has their back to the musicians will constently be turning arround to see what's going on. I was thinking that if i were at a wedding i would be more inclined to inturupt a DJ then a band if i wanted to make a speech or somthing. So i am going to try to talk to him about getting someone only for the cocktail hour. But Kim was also thinking that we should ask Dave and Joe, her husbands brothers. They are good friends of Mark and mine as well and with their parents will be playing at the ceramony. They might be up to playing a set of light jazz for us before dinner. I'm going to bring up that idea on Sunday on our way to Mark's dads. If he's totally against that John (Bestman) occasionally plays a weddings with this woman. So she might be able to come. Apperently she sings and plays the flute. Some nice flute could be good. Either way, i don't think she would charge us an arm and a leg.
Lately i have been hooked on Friends re-runs (well honestly i am almost always hooked on them) But even more so lately since the episodes one channel has been airing is right before Monica and Chandler get married. Mark loved how they were planning out the seating chart with little pins and flags with everyones names on them. LOL. It is pretty neat. I should start thinking a bit about that. With Marks parents not being on the best of terms all the time i don't want to have alot of conflict surrounding that. :bbeek:

The Good News Week!
THE STRIKE IT OVER! :ura1: As of Late Friday night they settled and agreed to go back to work. Classes won't begin at my school until Wednesday. But thats ok. Give me a couple days to get myself organized.
Yesterday we were given a very big very shocking cheque from Mark's dad and step mom. On top of the money they were already going to give us for the wedding. That was amazing. I cried. Mark cried. I think everyone cried.
We also had lunch at Cardinal. They set it up like they would for a wedding with the head table and all the guest tables set for 10. The tables weren't to crowed or anything which was nice. We got to sample some of the food on the menu. Unfortunetly they didn't serve the chicken dishes we were interested in. We picked up a new menu brochure and they have actually changed one completely. That was a bit disapointing. We are going to be serving....
Cocktail Reception:
Champagne Punch & Fruit Punch
Vegetable Crudite & Herbal Dip
and a selection of Hot Hors D'puvers (which our table never got a chance to sample)
Dinner:
Appetizer - Lovers Pasta - Ricotta and spinage stff ravolli's that are shaped like hearts with a tomatoe sause on top. (I have to be super careful not to drop this. I did at lunch and it splattered like there was no tommorrow)
Entree - Grilled Balsamic Glazed Chicken Breast - Grain fed breast of chicken marinated and slowly cooked ith a balsamic glaze. With Seasonal vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, zuccine, and carrots. And Roasted Mini potatoes. (ohhh these were so good)
Dessert:
We will be serving our wedding cake for dessert but we will be having a sweets table later on in the evening. I hope that there will be fruit, brownie, nanimo bars, date squares etc.
We are going to set up a meeting with the co-ordinator hopefully by the end of April so we can choose our linens and chair covers. They have an amazing selection of chair covers in a multitude of colours. I think i would really like black chair covers with white table clothes and then black napkins. I am unsure if the black will cost more. I know some of them that are more fancy do.
Today we selected the tux styles for Mark and the groomsmen. I wanted him to pick everything himself with exception to the colour of the vests because he is colour blind and wouldn't even know what colour it was. Mark kept looking to me for approval on things. But i told him to get which ever he wanted. So they will all be wearing a black 3 button jacket with matching pants. Mark's vest and tie will also be black. The groomsmen will have 'periwinkle' vests and ties. Although they match closer to the cloudy blue then periwinkle. They have a black check in the vest so i think it will be really nice. The RB will also have the same tux and vest. They are also going to get some super shiney shoes. It was a really great price $79.99 because we signed up a bridal show. It was for any tux, even though they couldn't find us in the system. I think the one we got was supposed to be $104.99. So thats a really great savings for us! Plus when we rent 4 the 5th is free. Mark's dad and my dad are planning on wearing one as well and i'm guessing that Marks step-dad will get one as well. The dads will be able to get whatever style they want and which ever colour they want too.
I'm not sure about the shoe though. The converse runners run at about $50 a pair now. It sucks cause when we were kids you could get them at Bi-Way for about $10-$15. One of the Groomsmen isn't crazy about them and will most likely never wear them again so we want to find some knock-offs for a better price. If we can't maybe just Mark will wear them and the groomsmen can wear the shoes that will come with the tuxes.
It's only Monday.... I hope my week continues to go up like this! :D

Better Together - Jack Johnson
There is no combination of words I could put onto the back of a postcard
And no song that I could sign but I can try for your heart
And our dreams and they are made out of real things
Like a shoe box of photographs with sepia-toned loving
Love is the answer at least for most of the questions in my heart
Why are we here? And where do we go? And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing, it's always better wen we're together
It's always better when we're together
We'll look at the stars when we're together
It's always better when we're together
It's always better when we're together
And all of these moments just might find their way into my dreams tonight
But I know that they'll be gone when the morning light signs
Or brings new things for tommorrow night you see
That they'll be gone too, too many things I have to do
But if all of these dreams might find their ay into my day to day scene
I'd be under the impression I was somewhere in between
With only two, just me and you, not so many things we got to do
Or places we got to be we'll sit beneath the mango tree now
It's always better when we're together
We're somewhere in between together
It's always better when we're together
It's always better when we're together
I belive in memories they look so pretty when I sleep
And when I wake up you look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time
And there is no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing
We're better together
Looks like this is the song Mark and I will use for our first dance. It's a bit faster then you're typical slow dance song. But i think it's really nice and i can see us dancing to it. There are some verses that are really meaningful for us.

Tonight i made up a new seating chart. The one we got from them is a complete mess. If i can post this at the wedding i think it will be nice. I'll put the table numbers on them rather then the pie thingies.

OMG! I had my first day back in class this week and it was such a frickin waste of my time! I kept thinking.... oh there is so much eles i could be doing if i was at home. Insted i was checking my e-mail, chatting on msn and not entirely paying attention to the lesson. I have a massive project to do in the next two weeks. It's ok. But irratating too, it won't take me long to do it. maybe a couple hours.
I really can't get my brain to turn on. I keep doing silly little things that make no sence. My whole class is out of whack. None of us can concentrate. And there is so much chatter that if you even wanted to listen to the lecture there was no way you really could.
I just want April to be done now so i can concentrate all my time into planning the wedding, packing, and finding a job.

2 MONTHS TO GO!
YIPPEE!!! lol.
So, Mark and i finished up the Wedding Prep course on Saturday afternoon. It went really well. We did really well on the compatibility test which was nice. It only brought up a few areas which it felt we needed to talk about. And most of them we had talked about since the course began because things were brought up that we haden't thought about or it was stuff that we haven't come to a complete solid conclusion. It was great to be able to go over those and talk about them. The only crappy part is for some reason we weren't able to keep the results so we arn't able to go back and further discuss some we said we'd discuss later more extensivly. Now we can't remember what they were. So i'm not sure they are reallly that big of an issue for us. Mostly on our religion not being the same and how that will affect the marriage and i think the involvement of our families in the marriage. Sometimes we worry a bit to much there will be alot of imput from our families which may not always be needed/wanted. Ah well, it was a really great experience for us.
On another note! I went with my MOH who is the mother of Morgan my FG and we picked up a really nice dress at Sears. It's perfect because its got a similar blue ribbon arround the waste and the bottem of the dress as the colour of tops that the BM's are wearing. It's a very pale blue almost white for the rest of the dress. I was thrilled! Then we also got little white sandles for her. And they have a butterfly on the top as well. So they will match the shoes i am wearing! Morgan was so exsited when i told her that they match! It was cute!
My mom got an e-mail from my cousin's wife about the shower she is wanting to hold for me. So hopefully i will be able to get a date soon for it so i can plan my time arround it. There is so much for us to do right now. I really need to get on finishing up our gift registry. Hopefully we will find out soon if we are able to move into the town house or not because that will give us a much better idea of what we can request more specifically. BBQ and Lawn furniture please! I am starting to look forward to the bridal showers. I was a little apprehensive because i'm not sure how into the 'games' i am. But.... this morning at least i am feeling a bit more open to them.
Tommorrow. Or i guess today really. I will be picking up my corrected Map cards. I'm going to have to re-cut them all so that will be a bit of a time consumer. But then Mark and i can work on putting everything together. I'm still missing a couple addresses. But if we send out a couple a week or so after the masses its not the end of the world.
I hope i can keep this not the end of the world attitude i've got going on lately up to the wedding. It's been nice not feeling completely anal retentative all the time. I just wish i didn't have to complicate everything so much for myself at times.

Mark and i spent most of Monday afternoon putting together the wedding invitations. It was nice. I hadn't realized how exsited about the wedding he was. I had to do a couple things before i could get started and he was impatiently waiting for me. It was cute. He was great. He gathered each sheet and stuffed them all in the envelope while i put the numbers on the Responds cards. (I always have to complicate things). He also sealed them all for me while i made him some lunch. He's such a sweetheart. He then offered to drop them off at the Post Office for me so i didn't have to worry about it. So they are on their way. I know its a bit early. 9 weeks before. But we were able to get them done, and figure that it allows for plenty of time for our friends and family who will be traveling to make the arrangements. The hotel we have booked a block of rooms at requires everyone to book prior to May 3rd. On May 3rd they will open the block back up to anyone. Kinda silly i think. But.... i understand.
It's amazing how real it is all becoming. Gwens post about how long she has been planning her wedding has really made me think about how i thought it would take forever to get to this point, and forever to get to June 3rd. Now i know that June 3rd is a matter of breaths away. The weeks are now into the single digits. The invitations are in the mail. My dress is here and i have my first fitting on Thursday.
I'm really looking forward to my wedding. But at the same time a little sad. I have had such a great time planning this all. And soon its going to be over. I keep reminding myself that i will be starting a new chapter of my life as Mark's wife. I've just become so acustom to being his girlfriend/fiance. My whole life is going to change in that week really. June 7th is the day they have scheduled my graduation for. We will be hopefully getting the house on the 1st of June too. :)
I can't help but smile.

Maybe i m being overly senstitive today, but man i feel like **** today. I just want to cry. April is a really tough month on me i find. I have been doing relativly ok for the most part. But today... not so much.
I have been wondering what the heck is going on, if my MOH is planning a shower or not. I talked to her on Sunday about it because i needed to know if i should be inviting my friends to the one my cousin was having for me or not. We talked about it and she said she didn't think she could because there just wasn't the time. I was ok with it, and i mentioned to Mark later that i got the feeling that the one my cousin was planning was supposed to be mostly family. So i was wondering if maybe we should put one on that all our friends would come to on our own. I really don't care about getting gifts i just wanted an oppertunity to spend some time with my friends and celebrate because not everyone will be able to come to the wedding and really we won't have alot of time to sit and visit with everyone like we might want to at the reception. He veto'd the idea and said Not to worry about with that... 'she's got somthing planned, don't worry about it' tone. So fine i back off and just told my mom who of my friends arn't coming to any other showers that i know about so if there is nothing happening please invite them because i know for a fact they would be hurt if they didn't get invited to any showers.
So my MOH starts talking to me on MSN while i was in class today and is asking what i want her to do. She apperently started planning somthing shortly after i asked her to be my MOH last summer. She apperently is feeling really bad because she doesen't have the time and the only time she gets to see her husband is on the weekends. And that everyone is booking up their time so they hardly ever have anytime together. I understand where she is coming from because she does have 3 kids and her DH isn't home very much. But is a little more then Mark is.
But i really feel hurt that she said she's been planning it for so long. But now can't do it because there is not time and she thinks i am too busy. She has hardly even consulted me on how much time i have. I dunno i just feel a bit let down. I was really hoping to do somthing fun. All the other showers are being held by my mom's friends and my family members. Not that they won't be fun, but its just different when you can hang out with your close group. I don't care about getting gifts. It's just kinda the thought, and it makes me feel like none of my friends have the desire to make time for somthing that is special.
I feel really stupid and selfish for crying about it. I don't even know why its upset me so much. It just has. I kinda feel like asking why she said yes if she felt like the job might be too much work for her. Maybe she didn't at the time, but i think i would have understood if she came to me later and said its too much to be MOH. Although. It's not like i have asked much of her. Pick out a dress to wear, come pick flowers with me (which she bailed on me for), respond to my e-mails, i haven't even given her any 'jobs' to do. I haven't given any of the BM's jobs to do. Only one BM has offered to do somthing for me. And she has been alot more support for me and is the only one to have her skirt made. I'm wondering if i picked the wrong person. I think i need to suck it up and not worry about everything so much. Mark says i am always concerned about other peoples feelings and i need to worry more about my own. But how can i? I feel like mine are usually pretty stupid.

Yes Jenn, I think Mark is right hun!! You need to start thinking about YOUR feelings!! Its garbage that she would pull that! SOmetimes you have to do things for other people and put your stuff on the back burner! Have you thought about telling her to plan a party where her and her DH and all the rest of your friends can come and hang out for an evening??
If it were me, I'd flat out ask her why she said yes! And ask her why she isn't stepping up! Has she never been in a wedding party before? Does she remember how stressful planning a wedding is!! Jenn, let your feelings be heard my friend!! Don't let her keep dismissing you like that!!
Take care!!

Ok......Is it possible that your MoH may be planning a "surprise" shower for you? If she is, then of course shes going to act like she doesnt have time and what not. One way maybe you can figure it out: If things were looking like "she wasnt going to have time", would she have said something to you about it before having to be asked?

I have thought about the surprise part, and she even has said if she was it would be a surprise. But the way she is going about this all has really hurt my feelings.
I do feel like i should say somthing to her. Maybe tommorrow if she says somthing. I don't know. As much as i want my thoughts to be heard i also do worry about crossing the line. Possibly closer to the wedding date if things don't improve i will say somthing.
I would think she'd come out and tell me. She is usually a very out spoken person and is good to tell someone exactly where she stands. I don't know if she is trying to make it work and such because she thinks she protecting mark and my feelings.

I do feel like i should say somthing to her. Maybe tommorrow if she says somthing. I don't know. As much as i want my thoughts to be heard i also do worry about crossing the line. Possibly closer to the wedding date if things don't improve i will say somthing.

Don't wait until closer to the wedding because if she gets mad and backs out of the wedding you are going to be in one tight position! Ask her now, but do it in a nice way. Try to help her understand how she is making you feel and try to understand her side as well. (that is if its a decent excuse!) but please don't wait until just before the wedding to have it out! Me and my SIL/MOH did this and I almost had to find replacements for MOH, FG, RB and MC!! Yikes! Believe me I think I went into shock that day! Luckily we worked things out but I was still really hurt by her actions and wish that I had talked to her sooner!! Take care Jenn!

It stinks that your MOH tells you that she doesn't have time. You have no reason to apologize for crying about it either.
I say if you want to have a little get together for your friends prior to the wedding, go ahead and do it. Don't call it a "shower", call it what it is, a pre-wedding get together. Game night, movie night, go out,....whatever. Enjoy your time with you friends.
And, if I were you, I'd sit down with her in the near, near future and talk these things out with her.

So i talked to Mark when he got home tonight. I told him about what happened and he keeps with the idea that she's trying to throw me. That she really is trying to do a surprise. She's just waiting to hear from my mom about when is good for her. I'm just so confused about it all.
I feel bad got possibly sorta wrecking it all. But i don't think i have because i still know nothing! I dunno.... i think i really just need to stop thinking so much. It's not that good for me right now.

Aww, sweetie, I know what you mean. I'm about to go post about my drama... Hang in there. It's almost over. If you want, host a big party for you and your friends. This is a happy time...so don't worry. BE HAPPY!!

Who ever thought that surprise bridal showers were a good idea were sadly mistaken, in my opinion. Like you don't have enough stress planning your wedding, you need your MOH pulling something like that.
I say plan a bash for yourself and your friends. Even is you do have a shower, you can still have a get together with your friends prior to the wedding. Celebrate your happiness!

Why not just include your friends on the guest list for the shower that your cousin is planning. Just have one big shower. That is what I am doing. If people can make it, great, if not oh well.

That's what i did. It's now a HUGE Jack and Jill Gail is putting on for us at her house. There are about 50 people being invited. And its the weekend before the wedding so it will be absolute Craziness!
I am really looking forward to it! I really wanted to have a party that both Mark and i could go to. They did one similar to this for Mark's mom and Stepdad last summer and i thought it was great! We arn't going to have all the fundraising games and stuff. Just get together hang out have good food and visit with eachtother.

So today i had my first fitting. It went well. The dress was too big. Go figure. The lady helping me lace it up commented that i must have lost alot of weight. She was worried that none of the lacing would show cause of how tight she was going to have to do it. But it does look to bad. The bust is huge on me. So that will have to be brought in. And since i am wearing flip flops i need about 2 inches taken off the length. And of course the sleeves are coming off. Apperently not a single girl who has ordered that dress has kept the sleeves. Hmmm.
I brought the camera to take some pictures. But of course the batteries died. So, here is a shakey picture of the back and a not so shakey picture of the train. Which i might add is MUUUUUCH longer then i remember it being when i ordered it.

I discovered that i absolutely HATE the shoes i bought. The are soooo hard on my feet. Just standing still in them for 15 min while she pinned the bottem of my skirt and such my heels where killing me. I think i am going to take them back and spring for a pair of $6 Old Navy flip flops. I know my MOH will have a frickin brain anyurism knowing i am wearing flip flops at my wedding but i honestly don't give a rats ass. I need and want to be comfortable. I can not afford to have heel spurs and other foot pain on my wedding day! I want to be dancing the night away! I'm thinking i might get some blue satin ribbon and see if i can wrap the straps in it just to make them a little nicer looking. But i think i definatly need a little cushin. I could wear my Birkenstocks. But i feel like that is even more hippy! And my dress isn't Hippy like at all!
I went for dinner tonight with my parents, and my dad started asking about transportation for the wedding. He's thinking he wants to look into a limo for us. Limo for me and my bridesmaids to the church and then for all of us to get to the reception. I'm kinda exsited because i wasn't planning on us being able to afford to even rent a nice car. We were planning on getting the minivan's detailed.
I also found out today that my invitations have been recieved and responds cards are already in the mail to be returned! That was exsiting! It was kinda funny to see my MOH's respons card stuck on top of her mail box waiting for the postman. Now only if we had mail delivery on Saturday here. I think we'd see the first one then. I think Monday things will start to arrive.
Anyways.... I wanted to say thanks to everyone who has been helping me through some of the problems i have been facing recently. I really appreciate it. It's good to know you arn't the only one facing some of these problems.

I woke up last night thinking about all the things i still need to do. And feeling like i'm completely sure where i should even start to try and do them. It's fustrating because i am so unsure of what comes next. I know i need to do all the seating cards, menu cards, the seating chart, and programs. I'm just not sure which to start with. And i kinda feel like i am lacking in some motivation too. None of this will take me very long to do. It's getting myself to sit down and do it. It's hard enough to get myself to do my homework. I think i need a quick swift kick to the a$$.

From what I can see of the back of the dress, it is really pretty. I always loved long trains. I like that it is a lace up too. They always seem to fit better.
I see nothing wrong with wearing flip flops. I think I am going to as well. Noone really sees your feet anyway. As long as you are comfortable, who cares?

Yup its lace up. I agree i think it is more comfy, it can be adjusted to fit me exactly the way it needs to that day :D
I'm really thinking i am going to wear the Old Navy Flip flops. I have either those or my Birkenstocks on every day all summer long. Basically until the snow flies. It's me and that's ok. If you don't like it. TOUGH!

So.... i am feeling very glad i didn't say anything to my MOH because i got an e-mail from her today and i feel really bad about it cause i kinda ruined it all for her.
Jenn, I have been planning a shower for you for months, and wanted it to be a suprise. When I heard that other people were going to throw you one too, I backed off on my plans and have not yet sent the invitations, to wait and find out the date(s) so I could do mine a different day... but I also didn't want to give you too many days booked up.
It's getting harder and harder to keep the suprise, cuz I don't want you to think that it's not happening, or I forgot or have too much going on.
I actully have 2 things planned for you.... if you would like me to tell you about my plans, then I will. I would rather keep it a suprise, but understand all too well the stress of not knowing.
Let me know,
So.... yeah. She's doing somthing so i don't feel like i've been forgotten. But i do feel bad because i think i kept pushing Mark so much on what was happening. I just couldn't belive him when he said not to worry about it. Then i asked my mom last night if she needed to talk to her. She seemed to have no clue what was going on.
So at that point i decided i would really like to do somthing with all my bridesmaids before the wedding. Ashley is coming out from Victoria BC and she has never met any of the other bridesmaids so shes a bit nervous about not fitting in. And Laura is from Ottawa Ontario and has only met Mark's sisters once. So i e-mailed Kim to see if she would be able to find a sitter so the 5 of us could go out for dinner and do a whole meet and greet and just be silly for a bit. She wrote back saying that it sounded good and then told me about her plans. Im hoping that she's not mad at me. I told her i wanted to keep it a surprise and to let me know if she wanted me to send her dates or to have mark check the calendar here cause it 99% of the time up to date.
Why am i stuck on worrying about this stuff so much?! Why can't i be worried about not having my projects done yet?! lol.

So the other night i went to Micheals to pick up some black satin ribbon for the centrepeices. They didn't have any in the width i wanted so i decided to try the sheer stuff. But then i had to figure out if i wanted the wired or un-wired stuff. Decisons decisions. I went with the un-wired, which may have been a mistake. Here is what i came up with.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1683.jpg
I can't get the one side of the ribbon tail to do where i want it to. It's a little fustrating. But i think this suits Mark and i a bit better then all the tule they had used on the trial centrepeices. But would black satin look better?!?!?

Today i attempted to get alot of things done. Unfortunetly i only got to leave messages. Grr. Oh well.... can't do anything about it.
I called the church to get information on when we have to make an appointment to meet with the preist again and when we should set up the rehersal dinner. All sorts of things i really don't know. :bbeek: Unfortunetly Father Steve wasn't in at the time. So i will call back next week after easter is done.
I tried to make an appointment to meet with our reception organizer. We need to sort out the menu and decorations etc.
I need to get these things done so that i can make the program and menu and get them printed so i can put them all together and not loose my mind.
On top of it all i found out from my friend that she's having a difficult time booking the hotel because she is not yet 21. The hotel said that as long as she provides a credit card it should be fine. I just worry that there is going to be a problem when she goes to check in. Her and her b/f are coming from south western Ontario so its about a 2hr drive for them.
The good news is... my best friend Ashley won't get stuck with Jury Duty. It's all been taken care of. AND she's got her flight to Toronto booked for May 31st. She'll be landing arround 1130am. Perfect time for me to drop Mark at work and take my time getting down to the airport. I want to be earlyish. I cant wait! She said there is exactly 50 days until she gets here.

Mark and I were able to go pick out the gifts for the Groomsmen the other night. We both think they will really enjoy the multi-tools. Hopefully they will be usefull for them. I think so. John works at the music store with Mark and is always looking for something, Dan is a producer/videographer. and Tyler is a computer programer/technition so he's always trying to get into things.
It's pretty nice. Comes with a handy little pouch.

Well, Mark really liked the design i did for the programs, so i printed out 150 this morning. I'm working on cutting them up today. Hopefully that won't take me really long to do. When i get the rest of the information i will print out the innereds and put them all together. Kim offered to help me with that. I really appreciate it. I need all the help i can get.
I am really glad to have her. She's really made this whole process alot easier. Since she's been there she knows alot about the stresses and problems you can run in to. Also she knows how to deal with some of the problems that could arise with her mom. As it is she's been compairing Mark and my wedding to her and her DH. I feel bad about it. It's not fair, the situations are completely different.
I wish i could tell her how much i appreciate everything she has done for me. I just don't know how. I've never been really good about telling people how i feel. We're going out next week so i'll probaly try to tell her how much i appreciate it then. We're going to get some of the stuff we need for the wedding. I am really looking forward to it. :D

I think they really look nice. I'm not sure if you tried this, but I find it's easier to adjust a bow if you make two bunny ears and then tie them together, rather than one loop and wrapping around and sticking through. Just a suggestion.

I bought the marriage licence today. I'm very exsited about it! It's getting so close and becoming so real! It was a bit weird because i have to wait 3 months after the wedding to apply for the formal certificate. And i won't be able to change my name on everythng until then. So it will be September before i can go by Mark's last name. :bbconfused: Oh well.
We have an appointment to meet with Father Steve on Sunday afternoon. We're going to go over everything so that will be nice. I will be able to complete the programs soon. Mark still has to get a new copy of his baptismal certificate. Hopefully that won't take too long to do.
Monday we are going to meet with the reception co-ordinator. Pick the menu, chair covers, etc etc. That should be good. My parents are planning on coming. I am hoping there won't be many disagrements over what we are going to have. They made mention that they might want to consider another wine (upgrading). Currently its Jackson-Triggs which was nice. I liked it (and i'm not a big wine fan).
I'm really looking forward to tommorrow. My MOH and i are heading off to do some shopping for the wedding. I'm planning on getting myself a shawl for the evening in case its cold, nice white old navy flip flops, possibly some PJ's for the wedding night, somthing blue, and maybe a necklace for myself to wear at the wedding. I saw one that looked like it has floating pears' i think it might be simple enough that it won't over power me with my dress.

Yesterday Kim and i went out and had a girls day! It was great! We met up at the mall and did lots of shopping. I got a bunch of things for the wedding.I got new white flip flops from Old Navy. But i discoverd that i can't return my other shoes i had bought before because its only 30 days. I had them more then 30 days when i had my first dress fitting. So, i am thinking i might just wear them for the ceramony and then change into the old navy ones for the rest of the day. I don't know. I'm a little fustrated with it now. I think i might look into finding somthing that will ad some cushion to the soles. Only thing is... i'm not sure they make those types of things for flip flops. Oh well... I will figure somthing out.
Kim bought me something blue!
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1706.jpg
It's a little dragon fly toe ring, its blue pale blue stones! I love it! She got one with white stones for herself. We're both going to wear them to the wedding.
I got myself a pashmiena (sp) in case it gets chilly. Blue of course! lol! It's my favourite colour and it is soooo close to the colour of the tops that the Bridesmaids are wearing. I was thrilled because it was only $20 and i found it at Shoppers Drug Mart. Most bizzar of places.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1712.jpg
It has some really pretty detailing at each end. I'm not sure how visable in the picture it is, its it's like paislyish.
I had seen this necklase before and i was thinking it would be nice. It's kinda like floating pearls. I thought it might be nice with my dress.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1709.jpg
I will have to take it next week to my next fitting because i'm not sure now if it will be to much or look right. If i doesen't then i am going to get a single white or blue stone necklase.
We looked at suits for a bear for the ringbearer. I didn't end up buying anything because there seemed to be nobody working there. It was very strange. But the outfit would be $16.00 and i found really cute bears at Micheals for $10.00 It was weird though. At Micheals they had wedding dresses for the bears but not tuxes. Oh well. We also looked at crowns for the flower girl. Morgan really wants one of flowers that has ribbons going down her back. So i think i will stop in and get her one this week and give it to her for her birthday. She'll be super exsited about it.

So Kim and i went out, and we had planned that we were going to go for dinner afterwards. But she springed a big surprise on me. She invited a bunch of our friends along too. It was great. A girls night out and i was the guest of honour. It was kinda like a bachelorette party. I wasn't allowed to come home sotaly tober.
We went for dinner at Swiss Chalet. We ordered a round of drinks, so i ordered a strawberry bannana Daquri. My fave! The server brings me a bannana one. I was a bit confused but hey whatever. Then he realizes he was supposed to bring me a strawberry one. Apperently the bar tender made both strawberry and a bannana one. So he asked if i wanted both and the girls all said yup! So i got one for free because he screwed it up. But i sat there feeling like complete lush cause i had 2 drinks. But they were super yummy! Its funny when you got brain freezes drinking those.
Dinner was great, after we didn't really know what we wanted to do. We tossed arround a couple ideas when Irene suggests we go to the stripers. None of has ever gone so we thought... ok.... is there one in the area?! We had no clue so Kim asks for a phone book. The waiter wasn't sure if they had one and offered to call information for us and find what we were looking for. After we all burst into laughter we said no thanks. But he did find a phone book. No luck. So when we get back to the car we call and have no luck either. But.... calling information and asking the teller to find one was interesting. So since we can't find one we decided to go to a local bar. We had a couple drinks and talked about marriage and kids and so on. I was the only un-married one so they all gave me some advice and told me about the biggest change they found after they got married.
It was a great night! I was so suprised! I had such a good time. We decided that we were going to do this again. Try and do a girls night out once every month. All our DH's are good friends and 2 of them live next door to eachother so they can keep an eye on the kids and do their own guy thing like watch the hockey games or play risk. Good Times Good Times!

How fun to have a girls day out! Love that! Very cute toes!! Absolutely love the dragon fly! I bet Amber would love something like that, she doesn't have anything blue yet either.
Love the pashmina!! Looks very elegant!
I love pearls at weddings and the floating pearls would look so pretty!
Very sweet idea of having a tux on the teddy bear for the ring bearer. I hope you find it, because that would just look adorable.

Mark's step-dad was so crazy about the multi-tools when we showed them last night we have decided that we are going to get our dads all multi-tools as well. My dad thought it was pretty cool too, but Thomas was just so funny he kept going back and playing with it. :)
So for our Mom's we are going to get little keep-sake boxes. We'll give everyone their gifts at the rehersal dinner but after the wedding we are going to have photoalbums engraved with "Jennifer & Mark - June 3rd, 2006" (or Mark&Jennifer can't decide which is better) We're going to fill them with pictures and take them when we go to their houses again and show them the albums and say.... 'By the way, this is for you to keep.' I think it will be a nice surprise.

I am really hoping they start coming in faster soon. They are due back May1st. This might sound terrible. But i am kinda hoping that more will say no. Everyone told me to expect only 80% of the people i invite to be able to come. It's going to be tight. Plus i found out an old friend of Mark's who we haven't talked to in years was really upset that they didn't get an invitation so we had to send them one and same with my parents. The numbers seem to keep going up.

Well, i booked our engagement photos today. They are going to be on May 1st. So now i need to figure out what we should wear. I was thinking of maybe doing black golf shirts and jeans. Doing the matchy matchy thing. But i'm not sure if that will be too cute. I don't want the super cute, i want somthing nice. We're going to the local park so going all dressy is out of the question. ARGH! I don't know!

Okie Dokie!
Despite a terrible head ache today i did get a fair amount done. My last project is done. It's a little bitter sweet for me. I love being a student and learning new things, but i am ready to grow up and get a job and such. It will be sad when i leave class tommorrow. :bbcry:
But! On the other hand.... i found a gift for my neice morgan. It's a little sterling silver heart shaped locket. It has an engraving of a cross on the front. I think she will really adore it. I also bought her a couple things for her birthday (which is saturday). She will be 6 and is totally in love with anything to do with princesses. Thankfully Party Packagers has a whole bunch of disney princess stuff so i was about to get a bunch of things for a reasonable price. They had a little cinderella tote bag. I thought it would be perfect for putting everything in, but also for her to carry art supplies or library books in. Sorry. Tangent. Back to the wedding.
Mark found a trio that is available for our wedding day and he really likes. I left finding musicians in his court since he is a musician. I thought it would be nice to ask one of the teachers at the store who he knew but wasn't really friends with. Maybe save some money. But nobody who actually would be proffessional enough or knows enough to play for 2-3hrs is available. So he found these guys based out of Vaughan. For a duo its $550 including taxes. for the Tri it is $750 including taxes. The trio includes Classical guitar, bass, and either sax or flute. We made the decision to book them this morning. Hopefully he has done that now. So that is a huge weight lifted from me.
Next week i am going to meet with our photographer. So i am going to construct a list of photo wish lists. It might be complicated because we have seperated families. But i REALLY want a photo that has all our parents, step-parents, sisters and step-brothers. oh and neice and nephews too! We will probaly have to do this one at the church because Christopher (who is 7 months) will be going to a sitter for the night after the wedding ceramony. Mark and i scoped out the reception site and we decided we want some of us and of the whole bridal party looking over the balcony with the photographer standing below. And maybe vice-versa, her looking down at us. Only thing is.... we will have to watch out for Golfers. lol! I am super exsited because i think the location is sooo pretty and it will be really nice. If the weather is good.
Next week i will also have to meet with the florist. I know what i want for my flowers and for the BM, FG, FH, and GM. Parents i decided i wanted to get somthing that would compliment our mom's and marks step-moms outfit and be the same as their husbands. It would tie them together, and would be really pretty. So i have to find out what everyone is planning on wearing.
I think i may have found a solution to my shoe problem. The sandles i bought hurt my feet like there was no tommorrow. There is no cushion in them AT ALL. Last night i saw an ad on TV for these and i thought they might help. I want to see if i can find them. Hopefully they will help!
Check em' out!

Ok! Now i have good pictures of my dress. Please excuse the weird look on my face. I think it was in mid sentance. lol.
The front.... Needs a little work on the bust. I don't like how pointy it looks. Then its funny cause it folds a little weird in the front so they are going to try and fix it.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1720.jpg
The Back.... No repairs needed. Maybe could have done it up tighter.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1723.jpg
And the train.... all 8 miles of it. lol. Where there is a little bump they are going to move the loop for the bustling so it will be a little lower. I didn't get a picture of it bustled. But its very nice.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c94/jenn060306/WEdding/IMG_1725.jpg

Ok, Jennifer, you have us stumped. Amber & I had no idea that you cut the cake before dinner. We were completely baffled when we saw that.
We are doing the cake cutting before dinner because we want to serve it as desert. In our experiences if they serve it later there is a ton of cake left over and we don't want that. So we're doing all the cutesy pose and suck before supper so the kitchen can do all the cutting while we're eating dinner.
typically it is done after and served later in the evening.

Yup. Cut it, then the staff will take it back to the kitchen and cut it while we are having our yummy yummy dinner. Then bring out wedding cake for desert. If we were to cut it after dinner it would be a while before desert was actually be ready to be served and it would be an ackward pause in the evening.

Yesterday i had my very first shower. It was very cool. My mom's bridge friends hosted it so it was mostly my mom's friends. But one of my Bridesmaids and my FMiL was able to make it as well so it wasn't completely strange. I didn't know everyone, so it was a little weird to receive gifts from them. But everything was wonderful! I was glad that they didn't do tooo many silly games. But i did get the traditional bow hat! lol. Fortunetly paper plates don't fit my head too well so i couldn't wear it for long. It kept falling back and trying to strangle me.
They had a gift theme which i found out after i openned everything. So at times i was a little confused because i couldn't quite figure out why i was getting it. Like a bag with 2 beach towels. Very nice.... but huh?! It was a lesuire theme. So anything the involved doing somthing fun and relaxing like going to the beach. I got a mini BBQ and lots of BBQ utensils, a lantern, card table, outdoor chairs, some kitchen stuff like a glass cutting board, tea towels, salad bowl, some cooking books.
I also got a beeeaaaaaautiful Mikasa crystal bowl! This was kinda neat because my cousin brought it. My Aunt who's not coming to the wedding's daughter. I was really happy to see her at the shower! And honestly, i feel a little less hurt by my aunt now. I can understand a bit more now that she is really having alot of trouble, my mom has said she at times has alot of trouble with crowds. so now i don't feel like she is trying to hurt us so much. I just wish i knew more about what's going on. I wish she would talk to my mom because it's hurting my mom alot.
So tommorrow i have to jump on the task of writing all my thank you notes. But.... i don't have tooo much to do so i don't think it will be terribly hard. I think by the end of the week is pretty reasonable.
Tommorrow Mark and i have our engagement picture session. I am super exsited because it's supposed to be +20'C and beautiful! So we'll get to go to the park and it won't be to chilly so we don't need sweaters or anything. I'm kinda looking forward to it. We've never had professional photos taken of us. So it will be nice to have some nice pictures. We're going casual. Mark's going to wear jeans and a golf shirt and i'm going to wear jeans and a collard flowy type shirt. lol. descriptive eh?! Hopefully we'll have time for him to get his hair cut before we go.

Wow, Jenn, how cool is that to get gifts from strangers?!?!?! I don't think my work friends would do something that nice for my daughter. You're very fortunate, they must really love your Mother! The bow hat story was hilarious. I swear I was picturing it in my head as you were telling it. lol The very nice, but huh? story had me rolling. Sounds like you got some very nice gifts.

My mom's friends are some truely amazing women. They would do anything for her. I love knowing that she has a great group to fall back on when she needs them.
I don't know that my mom and aunt are talking yet. I honestly think she's given up. She has got the time to be dealing with all this right now. She's got her hands full with all the wedding things and her own health problems to take care of right now.
Mark woke up with a terrible head cold this morning so we moved our photos to next Monday. I am hoping it will stay nice until after then.

I think people typically wait until the last minute to do everything don't they! You'll probably get most of the responses back the day of your cut off.

Today was my cut off. I think its a bit early. But i just knew that if i pushed it further it would be longer waiting to get them back. At least i think for a number of people a little alarm went off in their head today and the RSVP's will be in the mail in the next day or two. Also.... the hotel will be no longer be holding the block of rooms after May 3rd. So everyone who was going to come needed to make that decision prior to then anyways.

Unfortunately I think most people forget about our special days because they get so wrapped up in them selves. You'll probably end up having to call a fair few of them! Its not personal, its just life really!! :)

There are some pictures on the first page of what it will look like on the inside all set up. I don't have any pictures i have taken myself of the location but you can see it on their website. The back where the balcony is a little dark. But you can still see it.

Yes I'm sure you'll have to call a few people to find out if they are coming or not. I can't believe that many people missed the cut off date. But like you said, hopefully they got it in the mail today or yesterday and you'll be getting more in the next few days.

I was a bit thrown off too. There are some people i know won't be attending because they have already told me or our parents. I would think that if you know you are busy then you would be able to return the RSVP almost immediatly after the invitation arrived. Ah well....
I was sad to see there was only 2 RSVP's in the mail today. I didn't check the mail yesterday.... :( Tommorrow might be a better day.

My RSVP's are going to my mom's house as well. We weren't sure if we'd be moving so we decided to not have them come here. My mom hangs on to them and we open them together when i'm there. It's been atleast once a week lately. So i won't see if there are any more until Thursday which is ok. I have a terrible cold, and really don't feel up to much of anything today, but i am soooo bored too.
I'm not really sad, just a little fustrated by it. I want to finish the placecards so i can cut them all out at once. I want to be able to work on my seating chart cause it's a challenge to do. Lots of little things.... i am chompin at the bit to do.

Well, I spent some time today working on the order of the ceramony. Mark and i figured out which readings we want and the music. We still need to talk about who is going to read what. We're thinking my 2nd mom Lois to read one. She's basically my mom from out west, my mom considers her to be my new godmother since my real god mother passed away when i was 3. The other ones.... possibly Mark's dad, or a bridesmaid.

I am trying to write a little message of thanks for the program. I'm really not sure what i should do. I've tried doing a little searching on the internet for ideas and examples. But i am getting nowhere fast. I am really terrible at searching. Anyways.... this is what i've got so far...
Thank-you to everyone who has been apart of making our wedding day so special. You have played a very important role in our relationship. For that we are truely grateful.
- Mark & Jennifer
I have to start thinking about what i want to say at the rehersal and at the actual wedding. Again.... getting nowhere fast with the inspiration and ideas. Maybe i should sit down and read some poems.... maybe i will get inspired then. I've never been much of a writer. :bbconfused:

Jennifer, I like it very much, I just noticed these small things. Please tell me if I'm out of line.
No hyphenation in thank you.
Separate the word apart to a part.
For that, (insert comma)
No e in truly.

Cool, Thank Karen. :bbmrgreen: I am a terrible speller and i am not very good at grammar. Apperently i was taught with this 'Whole Word' theory were just by looking at it you will know what it is and remember how to spell it rather then learning to sound it out. Strange.

Mark is awsome! He went yesterday and stopped by a bakery that has great cakes and is highly recommended. He got a quote for a cake for 150 people the way we'd like it. She said a 16"x16" bottem would feed 64, 14"x14" middle would do 49, then 12"x12" would feed 37.
We can get chocolate, white, marble, sprice, or lemon and it would be $240 + taxes. Then for delivery it would be $30 and the cake stand is $20 to rent. I'm not sure if she included that in the price of the cake as well or not.
Anyways.... it sounds reasonable. I think i need to do a little checking arround for sure. But i was happy to hear about it. And we can go for a tasting on Monday if we'd like. Yummm! :D

I wanted to share this cause i love it.
Last weekend Mark and i went to Primal Instincts and he got another tattoo. He's been thinking about this one for years he draws it all the time. It looks great. I wish he had got this rather then the celtic cross he got for his first tattoo.

I'm thinking about getting a black bear on my back one day. My mom and Mark both call me bear. And i know i will call my childeren bear as well. So i was thinking i will get a little bear for each of my kids too. I'm thinking i might wait until there is a little bear to have put there at the same time.

Not to shabby!
So... I got a whole stack of RSVP's today. That was cool. Mark is going to be disapointed, but his Grandfather is not going to be coming to the wedding. He's a bit unsure with crowds and is worried about his health. Plus its an 1 1/2 drive from his house to Mark's mom's and then there is an hour of driving on the wedding day from the house to the church then to the hall. Plus... the day after he will be 84 years old. I know Mark will be a little sad but i know he'll understand. The RSVP was weird too.... i numbered all the cards on the back incase someone didn't write in their name. But the card that was numbered as grandpa's said Robert Plant.... his name is Louis Christopher Plant.... his son's (Mark's Uncle) name is Robert. So i am super confused now.... I'm going to call Kim in a bit and see what she thinks happend here. Mark's uncle wasn't sure if he was going to be able to make it either because he lives out west and has two huge dogs that need to be cared for. So i'm wondering if grandpa got a little mixed up when filling it out because he was thinking about Uncle Bob. Oh well....
So.... i went to the Great Canadian Super Store today. Wanted to get the disposable camera's for each table so we can get all the fun candids and little moments that the photographer may not catch. They have a flash and developing included which is uber cool for $11.98 when you buy 2 or more. I thought... cool, great deal. Save on developing etc. I knew they'd be kinda expensive, so i bought 5 today, thought i would by 5 next week and then another 5 the following week. The bill came to $68.00 :bbeek: I was a little thrown off by it. i really didn't think it all the way through. lol. Ah well.... i want them so i will have to get them. Now i just need to come up with a little card to go along with the camera letting our guests know that they can use them and to remember to use the flash!
A funny thing happend when i was paying for them too. The girl at the cash was young. Still in h/s is my bet. She commented that it was alot of cameras, and said 'Let me guess, you're taking a photography class at school?' i kinda had to laugh at myself at that point. I get told alot that i look younger then i actually am. Most people think i am in highschool still. I told her that i was getting them for the tables at the wedding and she had a bit of a stunned look on her face, then quickly commented that it was a cool idea.
Oh wow! I just got a call from my friend who was invited to the wedding along with her brother and her dad and step mom. They are close friends of Mark and i and our families. They can't attend because her dad is receiving the silver acorn award the same day up in North Bay. She called to ask where we are registared. I told her not really thinking about it.... then called her back after realizing that they are not coming and said.... "you're not coming right? You don't have to buy us a gift" She said her and her brother wanted to because they love us. She's so sweet. I never imagined in a million years that someone would send us a gift even though they arn't going to be able to attend the wedding. Now that i'm thinking about it.... if i couldn't go to a wedding i was invited to i would send a gift... but i've never been in that situation.... heh. She is an absolute sweet heart! We are definatly going to miss having her and her family there.
Anyways... i have rambled for so long now. I should get back to my packing/ organizing since the apartment is going on the market next week. :bbconfused:

I do love you...as the dew loves the flowers;
as the birds love the sunshine;
as the wavelets love the breeze...
as the angels love the pure in heart.

You are my husband.
My feet shall run because of you.
My feet, dance because of you.
My heart shall beat because of you.
My eyes, see because of you.
My mind, thinks because of you.
And I shall love because of you.

Ok.... i've sorted out the music...
The bridal party and us will coming and we're thinking 'At Last' by Etta James if we need music for this. The entrance order will be bridesmaids and groomsmen Ashley, Laura, Elizabeth, Daniel, and Tyler. Then the maid of honour and best man, Kim & John, then the bride and groom Mr & Mrs...
We will then do the receiving line just light jazz in the background
Then cake cutting - 'The Sweetest Thing' - U2
Then we'll have dinner and speeches and all that jazz.
Our first Dance will be to "Dance with you' - Live
Parents Dance 'In my Life' - The Beatles
Boquet Toss 'All i Wana Do' - Sheryl Crow will play in the background
Garter Toss still unknown.
After the Boquet and Garter stuff we want 'Better Together' - Jack Johnson to play since it is such an upbeat fun song.
Our Last Official Dance of the night will be to 'Good Ridance - Time of your life' - Green Day
Special Dedication is 'A little help from my friends' - The Beatles is dedicated to everyone who has helped Mark & i get to this point.

Hooo Wooo!
Everything seems to be coming together sooooo well! We went to the DJ today and sorted out music and such. He gave us some suggestions on music we didn't know what to do with. And they are awsome! This guy is great! He was totally on the same page as Mark and i. Likes the same style of music and such. I was happy! He complimented us on our organization! He is the main DJ for the reception hall so that's how we got him. He knows alot about the location and stuff which is good. But when we were there last we got a package from him to fill out about the music so i was madly trying to do that last night. It made our meeting go alot faster cause we weren't sitting there humming and hawing about what song we wanted.
So there are a couple additions.
For introductions our parents will be introduced and the song Home by Michael Buble will be playing. For Bridal party the song Let's Party by the Venga Boys then when mark and i come in it will be At Last by Etta James! :D
For the garter toss he recommended Bad to the Bone. It will get everyones attention which will be good.
So we now have all the gifts for the groomsmen and our dad's. We have to take them to be engraved this week. I don't know how long it will take. But i am getting a little nervous about leaving it too long. Today i am going to try to find something for our mom's. I think i am going to go to the Christian store this afternoon. There might be something neat there. Plus i want to get somthing from Kim and John and they are very religious so i thought i might get them a really pretty cross or somthing. Just a little somthing extra for being our MOH and BM. They have been great in helping us with everything and being there for support and dealing with parents. I know they will always be there for us to fall back on when we need it. It's nice to have your FH's sister and her husband be your best friends.
Anyways.... i should get back to packing. My apartment is a complete disaster now. It feels like all the bookcases have thrown-up all over the dinning room, living room and kitchen. the office looked like that before. :bbconfused:

Yesterday my MOH threw a surprise bridal shower for me. It was really sweet of her! It was fun too!
I had an idea somthing was up because she was being so weird on the phone and such the day before. She had me come to her mom's and we were going to work on putting together all the favours and such. lol. Surprise! So i didn't get any of the favours done. oh well.... marks mom and sister said they would work on some of them today and mark and i are going to go over there and do some to.
I got some pretty awsme gifts. The theme was kitchen stuff. I got a beer cook book and a chocolate cook book. YUM! I got some steak knives and cooking utensils and a cool over the sink cutting board! It was great! I am always so over whelmed by all the gifts people are giving me. It seems like so much.
Ah well.... i had a great time and i got to see my friend Jacki who has been away at University. :D
