I have a few ?'s for all of you...... 1st do you have to have place cards for for where guest will sit at the reception? 2nd when should i send out me invitations? 3rd how do you tell a very cheat dad that you want all the girls in the wedding party to have there hair professionally done? cuz if i don't tell him they will show up with pig tails and black and green hair!!! not even funny!!!:petrified:

I think I can help!

1. only if you have a sit down dinner even then it's not required.

2. about 8 wks prior to your wedding date

3. thats a toughy...Me I would just tell my dad hey this is what's going on. The girls could pay for their own if they are of age to (just a suggestion). Every wedding I have been in I have had to pay to get my own hair done.

I thing with are hair is all the girls are my sisters oldest being 16-12 and my moh will be paying for hers but my dad is like really being dumb about the whole like im just kidding im not really getting married or something he waits tell the last min. on everything it's starting to get really bad they all almost missed out on the last day to order dresses and i just im hoping that they make it on time!! Plus they all need to be cut to size so hes pushing it and hes not paying for one other thing in my wedding not one thing!!! I ask him to pay for the D.J. like $300 and he said well i just can't do it with year!! WELL im not getting married next year!! Also he has new about my wedding for over a year!!! OO he makes me so mad if it wasn't for them being my sisters i would even have him in my wedding!!!

Honey.... Breath. I know planning a wedding can be stressful but don't let anyone get to you. I know he is your dad but this is your big day. There are plenty of ways to have a great wedding and have your dad be happy with the cost. If $300 is to much for a DJ, place a local/free ad on craigslist and find a cheaper less expensive DJ. Be careful looking for the DJ, make sure you do your homework on the DJ you find on Craigslist. Also, as for the hairstyling goes, if your wedding is in the middle of the week, you may want to try a beauty school. They are alway looking for new clients and they charge half price (sometimes less). If that doesn't work, ask around, you may be surprise what you find. Good luck.

Remember, this is your wedding... You don't have to do any of the tradition stuff, if you don't want to. Yes, I am having place cards at the guest sign in table. It makes the reception more orginazed. Other wise people will be seating anywhere. But place cards can be cheap. Just go to your local Staples, Office Depot, Wal-mart or Target and get wedding place cards. There are cheap. I got mines at Office Depot for $9.99 for a pack of 50. You can print them at home and your done. :cool:

Placecards - We had placecards because we had a sit down dinner. I bought "print your own business cards" from Staples (in sheets) and printed on everyother card, so you could fold at the crease and make a tent card (does that make sense?) A pack of 500 business cards was $30 (I think). The leftover cards, I'll make gift tags or something with.

Sending invites - Send them about 8 weeks in advance, that should be plenty of time.

Bridal Party hair - I think I'd have them all pay for their hair themselves. Talk to a stylist that you go to or a local shop and see if they'll cut you a deal. Try supercuts or something also - you never know.

$300.00 for a DJ doesn't sound outrageous to me. Are you guys paying for this wedding with some help from your parents, or are your parents paying the whole tab? If the parents said they'd pay, then I'd hope that they did some money planning before now.

Thank you so much for your help, the card thing is really cool i may do that!! Also we are paying for the wedding know one but bretts dad is helping with $1000 and the that $300 dj was the cheat one!! Most around the Flint, Mi area are $700 and up for just 5 hours!!! So i dont know i geuss i could make my own music cds or something or will just have to find the $$. I thought about get a little part time just for like next 2 months but with being a foster mom of 3 boys planing a wedding in 3 months and working full time on 3rd shift i just can't see how it would help i would be going crazy!!! But ill see would i can do!! THank you so much:cool:

Just a tip on the business card/place cards. Make sure that you look at them carefully before you print them. I sat and looked at them for an extra minute to make sure that when I folded them, they would be right....lol. Silly, but I would have hated to have printed out 80 place cards incorrectly lol
