I would recommend that you call your city buliding. The receptionsit should be able to connect you to the right office. In most places you usually just have to fill out a permit form and pay a small fee (usually less then $50). There might be stipulations on vloume of music, chairs, cleanup, decoration times, ect. But someone will be able to tell you all that. Just make sure to ask if there are any catches to using the property.

All you have to do is talk to someone at City Hall. We had to do that for the lake we are using for ours. I thought there might be a fee or permit or something we had to have. For us there wasnt. We just have to let them know closer to them wedding if we are for sure going to use it so they can let the groundskeeper know. We really got lucky on this. If its a public park, you might need permission, but you shouldnt have a fee. I mean around here people use public parks for bithday parties all the time. A wedding shouldnt be much different.

Well, even if there is a small fee that isnt in your budget, if you really want it, you have time to save a little each month out of pocket.

I can't see it being too much of a problem. It is a city park. However, keep in mind there may be certain restrictions. We have a park here in Bangor that would have been just beautiful for a wedding. The only cost would have been $5.00 for the permit. However, there were restrictions. Like we couldn't close off the park, so ANYBODY could come along and disturb us. No tents. No alcohol. Not worth it to us. Make sure you look into all the restrictions first.:p
