Joe and I met in a way that I never thought I would meet anyone potential. We met online on American Singles...LOL
I was in a very long and drawn out 7 year relationship. The only good thing that came out of that was my beautiful daughter, Angelica who is now 5 1/2 years old. We broke up in 2002 and I dated after that but no one was really holding my interest and they definetly were'nt a good role model for my little girl. A few friends of mine had tried the online dating thing and finally convinced me to give it a shot. I was so tired of meeting losers at clubs and bars so I said what the hell and signed up to american singles. I went on 2 awful dates and was starting to lose hope on the whole thing. I was looking at my new matches and I saw Joe's picture right on top, so I said to myself "wow, he's hot, I'm gonna writw to him" LOL!! I wrote to him and he never responded! Naturally, I got pissed off and called him every name in the book! The next day I checked my email and I recieved a new "click". I looked and guess who it was, Joe! I took back all the nasty things I said about him (LOL) and looked at his profile again. I noticed there was a code on there and it looked like it was for an email address. I got a pen and paper and wrote it down and then proceeded to email him. All I wrote is "Hey" because I felt dumb...LOL He wrote back the next day and asked for my number. I gave it to him and we played phone tag at first. I listened to his first message and loved his voice. The first time we spoke, we instantly clicked and talked for about 2 hours. We made a date to meet in person after about a week of talking on the phone. I wasn't getting my hopes up because I went on 2 bad internet dates before that. They didnt even look like there pictures! I met him in a public place over in NY so incase he was ugly, I could drive off...LOL (Shallow, I know) He pulls up next to me and it seemed like forever from him to walk from his car to mine! I looked at him and though, "****, he looks good!" and I was very happy. Obviously he felt the same way and here we are 2 years later planning our wedding!
For those of you who don't believe in internet dating, give it a shot. I would have NEVER thought that I'd meet the man of my dreams online!
