We are having engagement pictures on April 9th. So a few days before that I am going to get my hair highlighted bc i have roots right now. My wedding is on the 21 so don't you think I will need highlights again before then? Me and my hairdresser say i will, she said she will just do the roots where my part is right b4 the engagement pics and then do an all over before the wedding. My mom thinks that is rediculious, she says one time right b4 the engagement pic and my hair will be fine for the wedding.....but that is almost 2 weeks after! And it won't be fresh color, it will have faded a little by then. WHat do you all think?

i think 2 weeks would be fine but can't you just wait and see? make the appt just in case and if around the 21st it looks ok, just cancel it. i think 2 weeks, the color should be a fine. usually it holds well for 4wks. but i'm by no means an expert :)

They have those new things at the store you can buy to boost your 'professional treated hair'. I did try it and it works pretty good. I can't remember the brand I used, but it costs around $10 and just brings out the color so the roots blend more.

I don't think you would have to redo it 2 weeks later. Even when I did all over color, I only needed to go every 3 - 5 weeks. Highlights last even longer b/c it is blended and a lot less hair strands to grow out and create the line.

You may even want to skip the e-pics altogether. Most people take e-pics to use on a website, a newspaper announcement or something and they aren't really all that necessary. With them being taken 10 days before the wedding, will you even have time to do anything with them? You will have plenty of wedding pics to frame and display.

I agree, I don't think you will need to get them redone with you getting it done that close to the wedding.

I also agree with Melissa, usually engagement pictures are done several months before the wedding. We had ours done back in early October. Unless it is a package with your photographer I think it would almost be a waste of your money because you will enjoy your wedding pictures more and the engagement pictures will get pushed to the side this close to the wedding. Would you even have them back at the time of the wedding?

I agree that you shouldn't have to worry about a retouch on your hair in that short of a time.

As for your engagement pics, it does seem odd to me to do them this close to your wedding. What are you planning to do with them, display them at the wedding; will you have time to get them back and choose what you want?

All the best :)

We were planning on having one pic at the reception. The engagement pics just came with our package for free and we wanted to wait until nice sunny weather. And our photographer said we'd have enough time to get one developed and stuff. But i wonder if I should not dye it for the e pics and just do it closer to the wedding. Thanks for you help!!!!!

Or just have your hair done the day before e-pics (or even the morning of e-pics if you can swing it), then you are within 10 days of your wedding.

The earliest I could get it done would be the sat. the 7th, so 2 days b4 engagement pics. They are closed sunday and monday. SHOOT i just think 2 weeks after dyeing my hair it will be very faded and a tiny bit of growth bc my hair grows fast.......well **** I am in a pickle! I will figure it out though. Thanks ladies!
