I thought it would be cool to show you all some pictures of where I live. Feel free to show yours as well.

This first one is "The Old Man in the Mountain". It has fallen about 3 or 4 years ago but I got to see it before it did. It is further north then where I actualy live.

the old train station which is now a mexican restraunt , a cafe and a couple of other htings but this is where you catch the train in the winter to ride with Santa ( for the tours around the lake you have to get it at the weirs

Nice pics Gwen

I live between Hampton and Lovejoy Georgia. There isn't really much of anything here where I live (IMO at least)

The biggest landmark is The Atlanta Motor Speedway (they have Nascar races there)

http://www.henrycvb.com/Atlanta%20Motor%20Speedway_small.JPG

There was quite a bit of damge to the area after a tornado a few months ago
http://rangelife.typepad.com/rangelife/images/atlantamotor.jpg

There is some histroical stuff in down town hampton too, but I've never been there

http://www.hamptonga.org/33/images/11202.jpg

Stately Oaks Plantation is here ... they have civil war reinactments and such. I think Gone with the Wind was set somewhere around here as well.

Brandi we also have a race track here. This weekend in fact they place is busy with a race. It is about 20 mins down the road. I didnt even thing of that when I was looking for pictures. All the pictures I post were from here north. Loundon is home to the NH Speedway.

THanks on your coments. I do like it here. It is much bigger then what I grew up in but it is still small enough to enjoy with so much to do.

Here are some pictures I took of the area here. Nothing too exciting. I will go out one day and take picture of any landmarks we may have (although that really isn't much of anything!! LOL)
The first is the fire house. FH insisted I put this in here.

The next two I took from the over look that we hike up to every now and then. That's the Susquahanna River in the center.

Ok I could post many many pictures of where I live but you all have probably seen them before. Search Yahoo or Google images for Washington D.C. and you'll find the meat of where I live. I'm actually in a suburb a few miles outside of the actual D.C. city limits. Let me see if I can find some pictures of my town and some really cool ones of D.C. :D

Here are some pictures of where I live. I live in the old town district and our town was home to one of the major battles of the Civil War. A lot of these buildings are between 75 - 150 years old. My mom and dad grew up here so this place has a lot of meaning to it for me. Here they are!

Here is the trian station. It is about 3 blocks from my home and lots of people take the train into work every day. This station has been rennovated but was actually built in 1911. It is still used as a train station and mini-museum.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/luv2cheer717/Stuff/TrainStation.jpg

This is a picture of Cocke's (pronounced Coke's) Pharmacy. It is now a nice restaurant. My father used to walk to this pharmacy every Sunday after church and get a cherry coke at the counter.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/luv2cheer717/Stuff/CockePharmacy.jpg

Here is a picture of the church my dad grew up in. I dont know the exact dates on when it was built but I know it was at least 75 years ago.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/luv2cheer717/Stuff/OldGraceMethodistChurch.jpg

Here is the school that my mom, dad, and all their brothers and sisters went to for elementary school. My next-door neighbor went there for all grades and she's 76! Needless to say its been here for a while:

Here is the Old Courthouse. I can see its dome on the top from my kitchen window. They now use the courthouse for wedding receptions, conferences, and things like that. It was built prior to the civil war and has undergone major rennovations to keep it standing.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/luv2cheer717/Stuff/Courthouse.jpg

This was the very first Post Office in Manassas. It was also built prior to the civil war. As you can see it is now an antique shop.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/luv2cheer717/Stuff/Oldpostoffice.jpg

Here is a picture of the old mill factory. This was built prior to 1910 (I think) and is now the Center for the Arts. As you can see from the picture it has had some major work and they even re-painted the wording on the side.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/luv2cheer717/Stuff/CenterfortheArts.jpg

Here is a picture from March 1852 in Manassas. I dont know much history on it, but its definitely interesting.

And here are my pictures of DC. I didnt take them but they are definitely gorgeous!

The Washington Monument reflected in the reflecting pool:
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a206/luv2cheer717/Stuff/washington_monumentreflection.jpg

And this the famous Capitol Building. I think it is one of the most beautiful sights in D.C.:

So there you have it!! If you have any special requests for things you want to see just let me know! ;)

I have quite a few pictures of hometown. I love it there....its so historic and beautiful. I don't have any pictures of my current town, but I plan this spring to get out and take some pictures. Both towns are right on the Mississippi and it is so goregous down by the river.

I come from Crane, IN also known as Crane Village. There used to be a small sign on one of the side streets that said, "Welcome to Crane Village, If you lived here you'd be home now." There is the Pizza Place, The Lonely Night Saloon, A Liquor Store ( all connected in the same building mind you). There is a VFW and a Post Office, Oh and a small town hall. Thats about it. The rest is houses. The surrounding area is government property (that includes the track and baseball field to the right in the picture) and the 2 neighboring counties. In the 2000 Census there was 203 residents... not much has changed since then. Growing up here I played mostly outside with the two or three kids my age, in the small playground which is now gone, or in the creeks that run around the whole town or my back yard. When I got older I thought it was so cool to sneak into the "Old School" which is an abandoned elementary school. My mother went there until it was time for Jr. High. It takes thirty minutes to get to the Jr./ Sr. High School in Loogootee. The closest town with a store is at least 15-20 minutes away. So this is where I grew up :) This is Crane... All of it

I'm from Stamford, CT which is kind of like a mini NYC. I live in Norwalk, CT now which is the next town over, literally like 5 minutes away but I will always be a Stamford girl...LOL ENJOY!

My Fiance is from White Plains, NY which is about 20 min. from NYC. Our towns are very similar, both very city like but has beautiful suburbs as well. Many basketball players from the Knicks and many NY Yankees players live there. Also, if you ever saw the movie Unfaithful with Richard Gere and Diane Lane, the house that they lived in and featured, was also in White Plains. How cool is that?

Also, we have many celebrities that have lived and are still living in Stamford, CT. Faye Dunaway, Carly Simon, Tom Selleck, Paul Newman, Hulk Hogan, Gene Wilder, Cyndi Lauper, and Harry Connick Jr. are just to name a few.

We've done some similar threads before, it is always interesting to see where everyone is from ...

I live between Hampton and Lovejoy Georgia. There isn't much of anything out here really (IMO at least)

The biggest landmark near me is The Atlanta Motor Speedway (they have Nascar races there and the Nopi car shows and such)

http://www.henrycvb.com/Atlanta%20Motor%20Speedway_small.JPG

Stately Oaks Plantation is here (well actually in Jonesboro, about 10 mins away) ... they have civil war reenactments and such. I think Gone with the Wind was set somewhere around here as well.

There is much more stuff out in Atlanta, about 30 mins north of me. Atlanta has the Coca Cola Company, Turner Field, the Atlanta Aquarium, Museums, Little Five Points, etc. But I don't really go out there much either, I hate the traffic.

That's cool. Oh, we just found out that they guy that we would get our engagement pics/pics for thank you cards taken from, did Hulk Hogan's wedding, and then pics of his family when he (photographer) lived in CA. Small world, huh?

Wow! We have the WWE building on Stamford because Vince McMahon is from Greenwich which is the next town over so alot of wrestlers lived in Stamford at least once...LOL I know Hulk lived there years ago down in Shippan which is the "celebrity" spot....LOL Tom Sellecks old house is ridiculous. He has his own road and a security guard outside in a little house....LOL Someone famous must live in there because the guard is always outside still.
