These are the notes Ive made concerning my wedding. Tell me what you think and if I have left anything out.

Ceremony will be at the Van City Lake in Van, Texas.

For the ceremony, I want a paper bag lantern (luminaries) walkway leading up to a lighted arch. I need to get with MoH on the best way to decorate the arch. I don’t think I need anything else for here. I have found the ones we love with little hearts all in them, 25 of them for $14.00. Brian says we can order them. I already have the tea lights that go in them.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/luminaries.jpg

Officiant is booked. I have already got the vows taken care of. Brian was worried about having to remember something long, but with what I have come up with he wont.

Bouquets will be hand tied white roses. I can get fresh white roses in Tyler from the Rose Garden for about $3 a dozen in May. I have several people that have worked with flowers professionally that have offered to do them.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/Handtiedbouquet.jpghttp://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/whiteroseslg.jpg

Dresses will be made, Attendants in turquoise, mine in white or opal. I have found a pattern that I love, but its not final yet. We will start on dresses in January. Men……who knows what they are wearing. I guess as long as its not embarrassing it shouldn’t matter too much. Although Brian had said he would wear khaki pants and a white shirt. (He probably wont be wearing a turquoise tie. ) I don’t have a clue what the best man will be wearing.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/pattern3.jpghttp://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/pattern2.jpg

Shoes will look similiar to this only mine have rhinestones across the foot.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/DECORATE058.jpg

Reception will be at our house in Grand Saline, Texas.

This isnt our house, but it looks just like it

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/eva20night20wedding.jpg

For the reception, I want the yard and shop decorated with white Xmas lights. (I have pics of how I would like to do this.) Not sure yet if I will do anything with balloons and/or streamers, but that is still open for discussion.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/midTent20.jpghttp://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/Decor45.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/36_Wedding_Ambient_Lighting.jpg

For the tables, I had thought of using opal tablecloths and having turquoise confetti down the middle with white candles and turquoise tableware, but I think I would like to go with turquoise tablecloths, with opal heart confetti and white rose petals down the middle with the candles and have clear tableware because I doubt I can find the stuff in opal (for a resonable price). With the candles, do I still need centerpieces? If so, what would tie in? I have found some really cute long stem white rose candles but what kind of holders would we put these in?

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/lrg_votive5.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/tablecloth.jpg
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/petals.jpghttp://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/confetti.jpg

We still need to work out the guest list so that I know how many tables and chair I need to rent. So far I’m thinking maybe 6 tables and 10 chairs each for 4 of the tables.

We will just have finger foods, cake and drinks. Menu is still open for discussion. We will serve wine, beer, soft drinks, and a couple of different punches. Champagne for toasting.
These are the cake designs that I like but I will only have white roses and maybe some pearls on it.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/cake2.jpghttp://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/cake1.jpg

Music is still being decided on for the dancing. Brian has the sound system. I plan to burn any songs we don’t already have. We are still in the process of making the song list. I will be trying to locate a couple of decent R&B songs.

Photographer is MoH's sister. I have a checklist of what pics we would like. We will also be having the little disposables on the tables so that there will be candid shots taken by random guests as well.

With the wedding so small, we don’t have to have a receiving line, right? If we do, how would we go about this?

Favors are still out in the open too. I have votive candles I can wrap in the turquoise tulle and tie with an opal ribbon. Thought about printing labels for them with our names and wedding date on them , but the ink takes forever to dry and the color bleeds too bad. I also have favor bags I can fill with something and can put turquoise tissue paper in them for color. I have samples of both.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b364/Cindysue3132/myfavors.jpg

There will not be any bouquet or garter tosses, and since we are not leaving the house that night we will not be doing the rice, birdseed or bubble thing either.

Honeymoon is planned for the Busy B Ranch B & B in Jefferson, Texas. We have sent an email and have left a message about what we need to do to set reservations, but as of yet we haven’t heard back from them. I will wait until after the first and if I still haven’t heard back from them, I will call back.

I'm going to do the same thing! I'll post it in the thread that I started about my wedding! :D

WOOHOO!! Cindy started a journal!! :D

Do I have everything covered? I dont think I missed anything that would be important to our wedding, but since ive never done this before, I might have.

CarlosHoney

It seems like you've got everything! Besides, if there is anything else, it will present itself at the apporopriate time. The only other thing that I could think of, is maybe making a few signs to point the way to your wedding if the guests are unfamiliar with the directions.

CindySue
12-06-2005, 02:28 PM
 Ive got that posted on our website. I did say we would post signs for the "directionally challenged". When I went out there yesterday to take the pics, I saw the perfect places for them too. There may even be a processional (sp?) to the ceremony site from the house.....I like this idea, but I dont think Brian does.

CarlosHoney
12-06-2005, 02:37 PM
Well, if he doesn't like it, oh well. If everyone is going the same place after, it might happen inadvertently.

I just dont think he wants a bunch of people there beforethe wedding while we are trying to get the last minute things taken care of. Some of his family may be riding down here from Dallas together anyway.

CarlosHoney
12-06-2005, 02:52 PM
Yeah, that's the thing with us, we can't really have a whole heap of people there because the little island that we're getting married on is only big enough for the officiant, the groom, and the bride.

I'd hate for the whole group to show up way early, too. That would stink! Everyone waiting while the waiters get all of the stuff ready.

CindySue
12-06-2005, 02:59 PM
Girl.....I think he might be a little clueless. He thinks we are going to be able to have some alone time before the wedding! I may make it a point to spend sometime with him that morning but everything is going to be so hectic. we have to take the arch out to the lake....probably decorate it there. I will have to have most of the reception set up beforehand, because Im not having waiters.

CarlosHoney
12-06-2005, 03:06 PM
Yeah, alone time........ Right!

We'll probably get up and have breakfast alone. Then, he's not going to see me again until the ceremony. I want my dress to be a total surprise.

CindySue
12-06-2005, 03:09 PM
He may get to see my dress before the wedding but I dont want him seeing me after Im dressed until I meet him under the arch.
Oh and FYI - the patteren i picked out for my dress is very similar to your dress. Tonight I will get the pattern info (If I can remeber where I put it) and get it to you......saved you a step!

Cindy you're wedding sounds really beautiful! Plus, what a GREAT idea to type up everything. I think I may do that as well, just so I know where I'm at. I'm glad to see you're not starting on your dresses until January, because I'm not either. Let's me know my thinking as far as time goes isn't wrong. :)

Side note: I worked with this lady who said she had a balloon arch at her wedding (the ceremony) and during all the quiet parts, all you heard was the squeaking of the balloons...so, if you're going to do balloons be forewarned that they squeak a bit! :)

I love how beautiful and simple everything sounds, Cindy. Good luck! :)

12-06-2005, 04:03 PM
Well Ive been carring around all my ideas in my head. I was trying to figure out what I might be forgetting and I wanted to see where I was at too, so I started typing. When I finished and I had all the ideas in their appropriate spot, I sat back and read them over. I thought "OMG... ..I think Im done!"
No...Im not doing the ballons on the arch. Probably just lights, tulle and flowers, maybe some greenery.
Well with us making the dresses we can work on them when we need to. I have done sewing before, and I dont think will take very long to do them. We will probably set aside a month and work on nothing else but the dresses.

Maybe greasing up the baloons beforehand is good. Just spray'em down with some WD40! That would be real classy.

Everything seems like it's falling into place. Are you going to have someone watch the kids that night? Maybe have some friends do clean up duity (or if you have to do it, do it the next day). It seems like there are a few things you can do to make the night special.

CindySue
12-06-2005, 04:56 PM
Yeah....although we havent finalized who exactly is going to have the kids, there are several people that they can go with. They are going to spend the night with whoever that Saturday night, and then they are going to come back to the house after we leave on Sunday and they are going to be watched at home, so they can get to school and everything while we are on the honeymoon. Plus our pets will need to be taken care of.

CarlosHoney
12-06-2005, 06:08 PM
Yeah, the baby will be pretty young when we go on our 'honeymoon'. It'll probably just be one or two nights. How old does the baby have to be before you can leave overnight? Or for two nights in a row?

My dad wants to keep the baby for the summer (or for two weeks at some point). Maybe we could co-ordinate the wedding with when he takes the baby? The time frame that we're looking at is any time between late May and Early July. So, he'll be between an estimated 4 1/2 - 7 months old. Probably 7 months would be better, right?

Use a cooking spray like PAM. The petroleum products in the WD40 and the latex in the balloons might not get along.

Yeah. True. But, that would be half the fun!!

I remember the first time I used spray paint, I found out the hard way that spraypaint melts styrofoam. :o

Ok......Im have a stupid moment here. I have all the pics uploaded into my photobucket account. I forgot how to put them on here where it will show the pic and not the url. Will I have to completely redo my 1st post in order to do it the way I want or how can I add the pics in their proper places without having to retype everything?
Oh Im sorry but I borrowed a few of your pics, Becky and Carrie. Yalls were better at showing what Im wanting. Hope thats ok.
Patience is a virtue Becky......I dont Ill be able to do much with it today at work.....I may have to work on it at home this evening.

Hey, man, sharing is caring. I looked really hard for some of those pics, and some were borrowed from others. It's flattering that you like my ideas enough to use them.

On Photobucket, below the small picture is three boxes: The URL, the HTML, and the IMG. Highlight the whole IMG part, copy it (Ctrl+v) and then paste it (Ctrl+V) here in the box where you want the picture.

You don't have to re-write it, just add in the pictures where they're appropriate in your journal. Then, hit the preview button so that you don't double post a picture (like I did). Good luck!

Thanks girls.......Im proud of myself. My FH has laughed at me. He says Im entirely too organized. I have a 3 ring binder with sheet protectors in it. I have my notes w/ pics printed out and put in this notebook. Separated too, ceremony, wardrobe, reception, etc. I also have samples of tulle, ribbon, etc. in there. I like it......he thinks Im being a tad bit anal.

I wish I was half as organized as you are. All your ideas look great. I wish I could get every thing down but I am still trying to figure htings out. Starting first thing in the new year I am focussing on nohtign but the wedding. If I dont it will be here beofre I know it and I wont be ready for it.

I'm having that same problem Cindy...I have to keep telling myself "Focus on Christmas, Focus on Christmas!" It's a good thing I didn't plan a winter wedding like we had originally thought of. I'd be a wreck! I hate this waiting for the holidays to be over! GRRR!:bbconfused:

12-22-2005, 09:32 AM
Oh, I agree completely! Once the holidays are over we will start worrying about the wedding again. The holidays can get so stressful, that I'm glad it's one less thing to worry about. Of course we need to figure out if we are using the DJ FH wants by the first week of January. Not looking forward to figuring that out. We have to re-do the budget to get him.

usahgrad
12-22-2005, 08:07 PM
WOW! I'm kind of glad the only thing my FH is asking for is that we be legally married by the time it's all over. He actually came up with the idea of doing our own music. I was looking over DJ information and I just couldn't believe how freaking much it costs! I'm going to go, get a loan, buy an incredible music system, and undercut them all! MWAHAHAHAHA! (It wouldn't be hard to do...and I was a DJ once...that's fun...to bad you almost always have to work nights and weekends...blah!)
