I have been complaining about my "baby fat" recently to my mom, and I just got this link in an e-mail. I'm not sure if I should take it as advice or as a sign! but just for fun thought I woudl share since we have so many "new mommies" on the way!

Good article, obviously the formula for fitness doesn't change no matter what kind of weight you would like to lose.
I am going to have to disagree with this:
Hold the baby to your chest and do lunges,
That sounds like some of the worst workout advice I have ever heard. It is fairly easy to lose your balance while doing lunges, esp. if you aren't that experienced with them and you could end up falling while holding the baby! I have been working out at least 5 times per week for about 10 years and I still occasionally lose my balance while doing lunges.

they have baby and mommy classes where you strap the baby on and use them to excersice. i do lounges, if you keep your back straight and move slowly and rythmatic its okay. i have never lost my balance or dropped any of my kids. although i agree a risk is there

My son is almost a year though, and weighs nearly 20 lbs.....I hate to say this but I'm kinda small, so I would probably drop him! :whoa:
Then what would I tell the ER?? well, while doing lunges with him I dropped him cause I wanted to lose a few extra lbs. so that I could feel better about myself...so Doc. how's he gonna be??LMAO!
I'm just kiddin' but really..I would be scared to use my son:urgh:

I know! And b/c you wanted to avoid buying a couple sets of hand weights! Use a gallon or two of water, not your baby!
Even with the backpacks (even if you wear it in the front) they make for the babies, the jolt they would endure if you did waver and then regain your balance just isn't worth it.
