Hi folks! We are going to check out a possible venue on Sunday. I will provide the link at the bottom. We are thinking of this place for both the ceremony and reception. It will be in December, held inside, less than 50 people. This place is "all inclusive" - they do the cakes, food, tablecloths, bouquets, everything, with different packages available.
The website is very detailed, so don't feel like you have to look at it, but can any of you think of questions you asked (or wish you'd asked) when looking at your venue? I am really clueless about this stuff and I don't want to make any major mistakes.
I promise I will start a "journal" but don't want to until I have a date! :)

I would ask if there are any restrictions on things. One of my BM's got married at a place that was all inclusive and she says the only regret she has is that they didnt like the photographer or cake because they had so many restrictions on how many photos they would take or what flavors she could have in the cake, but they were working on a 2 month engagement and very very very small budget for 150 people.
I think all inclusive is great but the problem you might run into is that you may love the site, but you dont like the cake or vidographer. You have to weigh the pros and cons. If you arent going to be 100% happy with all aspects of the package, I would look elsewhere.
On the other hand, I think that if you're happy with all of the aspects, this will save you a lot of stress when trying to book vendors.
Sorry if this doesnt really answer your question, I think only you can come up with the questions that you need to ask. Things that are important to me arent going to necessarily be as important to you.
Good Luck and Let us know how it goes!!

Thanks. I just feel like the biggest idiot trying to plan something like this. I don't even have birthday parties, so this is just confusing for me
Thanks for the suggestion. I think this place will let me choose outside vendors for most everything if I just go with it as a venue and do not get a package.
That looks like a great place! I went through a very similar situation about a month ago. The venue that I chose is an all inclusive ceremony/reception site. There were a few questions that I felt like I needed to ask and many I'm sure I should have asked, but didn't think about (oops!). I'll look and see if I can find my list. Mental block--I can't remember anything!
