Hi everyone!
This is my first post to the boards, I just discovered this website today and so far, love it! My name is Amy, I live in Denver, CO and I am getting married on Sept. 14 of this year. I am having an intimate, elegant wedding at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Co (ever see the movie or the tv series The Shining? The series was filmed there and Stephen King wrote the book there!).
Here's my question, I have an arm band tattoo that I want to have covered for the wedding. My dress is gorgeous and the wedding while not snooty patooty is going to be pretty elegant (white gloved butlers etc.) Does anyone know of or have heard of a make up that can cover a tattoo? My tattoo is black ink and is an arm band. I thought that I would find a dress that could hide it but as you all probably know there is a very small selection of gowns that have sleeves. My dress is gorgeous and I don't want my tattoo to ruin that.
Thanks!
Amy

I know that David's Bridal has some tat coverup (I saw it last weekend ;)). One of my friend/BM has a tat that she got a few months ago, its on her foot. At least it matches my colors though! LOL. Its a shooting star with a lot of red in it.

I have heard good things about Tattoo Camo (http://www.tattoocamo.com/)
Good luck!

You can probably find a cover-up at any bridal shop, or even online. My soon to be sister-in-law works at a bridal shop in our mall and they sell it. I don't think it's too expensive, maybe $30 at the most. She said it works really well!

Depending on where it is on your arm, you could always try gloves that go with your dress - they look very classy and would covor the tatoo without makeup.
As for makeup, I wouldn't know.

I know Neiman Marcus has some tattoo cover up that works great. My cousin used it for her wedding. She has a back piece and I was amazed at how well it covered it up.

Could always use something like this: http://stageandtheatermakeup.com/TattooList.htm
Just curious, but...even if it's an "elegant" event why would you need to cover it? I mean...it meant enough to you to have it etched into your very skin, yes? And yet I see more and more threads like these. Just makes me curious I guess.

Meesha I agree with you in the sense, you got the tat now flaunt it. Well sometimes there are times where it doesn't need to be or the person doesn't want it to be, either for fashion purposes or maybe because they don't want to offend family, friends, or religious ministers... ya know... I would cover mine if I had a visible one up, not that I am not proud of it but because out of respect for my priest, family and parents.
There is nothing wrong with that....

Dermablend, its also great for scars. I used it for my sisters wedding and it stayed put all day, macy's carries it and I sure all the major dept stores do.

I'm so glad I found this thread... I have a tattoo on my upper back, and while some people are very proud of their tats, others (i.e. me) wish they'd thought a little more before getting something permanent.
It's not that I don't like it per say, but I need to have it worked on, and money doesn't allow for that now... so I'm going to wan to cover it up!
I love all the suggestions, and am totally going to check them out!
