Has anyone done those things where you get paid to take surveys?

I feel the same, especially since they usually make you pay to sign up first.

Funny thing, DH just sold a conference table to some company that does these online surveys.

I havent' gotten paid for surveys (other than the JD Power and Assoc. ones I get in the mail, they send me $1 with each one! LOL!) but I have joined MyPoints. Pretty much you get points for looking at junk mail and then you can cash in the points to redeem gift cards and such. But thats the only thing I've ever heard of.

I actually did that for a little while and you do get some money. It's not worth it though. Takes way too much time for what you get.

I found some where they don't charge you to join. I don't trust sites like that. There was one ad in the college paper of addriveteam.com and you have to pay like $40 to join, and they send you a car with ads on them to drive. It said you get paid like $800-3200 per month.

Oh I forgot to say that I didn't pay to do any of the ones that I participated in.

I tried the mypoints, it is a waste of time. And for me time is money!

They let you take as many surveys as u want until you get to a certain amount then they only "give" you a few or none at all.

I got up to $19.90 and they send u a check once u get to $25 but I stop getting the surveys and when I sign in it says I am unable to take one.

What a buncha BS

I have gotten numerous e-mails and things, but will not dare to try. I'm funny about giving out any personal info. on websites, especially when I know they sell! :geek:

Here are 2 that I do, you dont have to pay to join, and its not a scam - they have never tried to sell me anything

http://www.zoompanel,com - mostly you do the surveys and you collect points that you can cash in for prizes - I have gotten magazine subcriptions for free.

http://www.mysurvey.com/ - you collect points then cash out for $$- i have cashed out for about $30 a few times. = although it takes quite a few surveys to add up the points - they are usually 5-20 min each- more time= more points.

some of them are actually fun....

I do the my survey ones online. Nope its not a get rich thing. But the surveys are ok, not time consuming and when you reach 1000 points you can trade it in for $10 or continue to build it up. The checks are legit b/c I have cashed several and never had any problems with it bouncing. Also periodically they will send me Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner. Deo, Cat litter. Things that I use in my household to try out.

you can also turn in your points for drawing's. I think they are like 25 points for each ticket. My mother won $500 on one of their drawings and the $ was legit.

I think MyPoints must have changed a lot since you've done it. I only get probably 1 survey mail a week. I take it and usually don't qualify, but get 10 points because I gave my age and zip code pretty much. And then each e-mail you open up from them you get 5 points. Then if you do a lot of online shopping (like I do) and you purchase stuff through the MyPoints website you can get 2 points per dollar or 10 points per dollar or whatever that company gives. Then you can cash our your points for gift cards to stores and restuarants. To me, its a pretty good deal considering that you don't really have to do much but check your mail. It does take a while to get enough points built up, but really, a a gift card every other month for just opening my e-mail like I would do anyways isn't a bad deal to me.

I just registered on MyPoints, and it seems like you have to spend money in order to get points. So you're really not getting anything for free...unless I'm just doing something wrong, or just don't understant this LOL.

NO never any problems. They have sent me shampoo & conditioner, cat litter, deo, cologne. ect. To use and it comes to the house Via UPS...

As for the checks I always brought them to my bank and they always cleared. It is a legit company. If you are worried about giving out your address, just go to the post office and open up a PO box. And have the mail all sent there.

I just joined that MySurvey thing. I figured if it was free I'd give it a shot ;)

I just used my PO Box address though. I was going to sign up for the affiliate thing too, but I didn't want to give out my social security number.

So for those on you that do this ... how often do they send you surveys and how often do you get money for them?

I have never dealt with the affiliate one sorry. But I wouldn't give out my SS # to anyone on the Internet.

It really depends on what your household uses ect. I mean my FMIL has gotten over 1000 points just this month for doing different surveys. Me it varies from 5-10 a month to just 1 a month.

After you get 1000 points you will be able to cash it in for $10, or continue in increments of 1000 points to add $. OR you can put in for tickets to win sweepstakes. I know my mom won $500 once from them. Me not so lucky.

Like I stated before though it's not a get rich thing. I mean it has taken me months before to just build up 1000 points. It just depends.

It take 1000 points just to get $10! How many points are the surveys normally worth? I didn't see any details like this on the site before I signed up :bbconfused:

Where do you tell them what kind of things you are interested in?

I hope this ans. your questions better than I can. Follow the link then click on the blue text it's the F&Q section and should give you the low down.

When I signed up they sent me a survey in my email box and told me to fill out different things about my household and family members.

I actually just checked the BBB website to see about MySurvey, and they have a satisfactory record so I signed up. Do you just get one survey a day?

BriansBride07
03-08-2007, 01:03 PM
It actually depends on what you give them for info. Your family size, what your family uses ect. I am surprised if you signed up you haven't gotten a e-mail having you fill out this info. If you have a junk filter it will be delivered to your junk mail.

I got the survey about your household thing, but I don't remember it saying anything about what products you use.

There is something saying I will get a "First Time" survey in the next day or so, maybe that is it.

I don't know, I guess we will see what happens.

BriansBride07
03-08-2007, 02:23 PM
Maybe that is the one. I really can't remember its been a couple of years since I signed up. I do remember thought that they asked me how many people and the name in the household and about pets.

I do pinecone and it's $5 a survey and they don't take over 20 minutes. The only thing with them is you have to be invited you can't just join. I'm also on mypoints and have gotten many gift certificates. I'm on a bunch of others also that have paid me.

Yeah, if I had done more research before signing up for MySurvey I probably wouldn't have. It takes 1000 points to cash out for a measly $10 :bbconfused: I have done about 5 surveys so far and only have like 100 pts.
