Video Wedding Invitation

Hello Vendors:
I'm looking for some honest feedback about my Video Wedding Invitation Card. The card has a personal video message from the bride and groom inviting friends and family to the wedding. A scroll down text box that tells the story of how they met. A direct website link to the stores the bride has registerd at. A direct email link to the bride that acts as an RSVP and a custom made mailer to send the card in.
I charge around $1,300 for 100 cards.
My question is......is there a market for this product and your opinions on the price.
Thanks for the feedback.

What does the card look like? Is it like a greeting card with a screen in it or like a digital camera card that you would have to put in a computer or some other device?
If it must be viewed on a computer it may not be practical as not everyone on a guest list is computer savvy, in fact they may not even have a computer (my grandma for instance).
This is also pretty expensive, I probably wouldn't have spent that much on 100 invites. I got all my designer invites, response cards, envelopes and postage (including RSVP postage) for less than a third of that price.
Do not put a direct website link to the stores at which they have registered on the invite. In most circles that is one of the biggest breaches of etiquette. You could put a link to the couple's wedding website and on that website would be a link to a page listing where they are registered.

I second that! do NOT put link to registry info. that is definately against all etiquette! better idea to go to wedding website for the couple. nice concept otherwise, just have to figure out some changes to bring the cost down. i like the idea of having the story of how they met in the card. really makes people feel like they are a part of everything. you'll just have to figure out how to change the design or something to bring that cost down. unless you have celebrity clients you aren't going to find people with the budget for this. good luck to you, i can appreciate stepping out of the box for something new.

I doubt anyone would want to pay $1,300 just for invitations unless they are just plain ol rich.
On my wedding day The items I want to spend the most money on are my dress, photography, ceremony area and rings.

I would never spend more money on the invites than my dress! And I don't think the average bride spends $1300 on their dress. $1,300 is way to expensive, especially if you have a video camera and a little computer knowledge, you could make it youself for nothing. All you would need would be a template.
Also it would have to be something that would load easily. I would be better if it was sent out on a DVD or something. Not everyone has fast internet and people don't want to wait 45 mins for a 5 min video to load to see the invite.
I think it would be better if they were sent out on DVD's (they also can play on computers so they could be accessed that way). And not for $1,300.

Sounds like a great idea! But then again, I've been doing it for years :-) Good luck with it!
