Does anyone ever eat at Taco Bell? It has been awhile but they got rid of there green onions because of an ecoli outbreak. Not that I eat them anyway but it is just getting to where you can not trust what you eat anymore.

The thing is they are still not sure that the green onions caused the outbreak. Read the full story here www.cnn.com/2006/HEALTH/12/12/e.coli.outbreak/ (http://www.cnn.com/2006/HEALTH/12/12/e.coli.outbreak/)

First spinach now green onions. Will we ever be able to fully trust our food?

this is getting nuts. I don't eat the green onions from Taco Bell. Only the ones that I grow myself.

I dont get it, I mean here in Canada, I don't think we've ever really had these types of problems. I wonder if it's a legislation type thing, it's just nuts!! I hope that they can get things under control with all of the problems, the spinach, the peanut butter, now the taco bell green onions...I'm sorry ladies, I'm not trying to bash anyone or anything but it's so wrong and I hope they fix whatever is wrong. :)

Here is a quick quote from the article see if it makes sense to you.

However, further testing on samples on green onions at the affected restaurants has not turned up any evidence of E.coli, and the search continues for the source of the infections
Ok thats fine there working on it.
Now read another quote this is where it gets a little fishy.

But company president Greg Creed reassured Taco Bell fans that all their food is safe.
Huh, they just said they did not know what caused it but hey do not worry it is safe to eat here. Now this happend in Mid Dec and still no evidence of what happend.

But hey they say do not worry it is safe to eat here. Yeh right! They just want to keep lining there pockets with the green and giving us E.coli with the other green.

There was an outbreak from green onions at Taco Bell and at Taco Johns (I don't know if they are just a local thing in Iowa or not). But I've eaten at Taco Bell quite a few times since then....they completely discontinued use of the green onions in their products.

But have you heard of the new Salmonella outbreak in the Peter Pan & Great Value peanut butter? There have been over 290 cases reported to the CDC now and its growing. They are recalling all of the peanut butter with a certain processing number on it, all the way back to May 2006. My friend and I are wondering what they are doing to the peanut butter in that plant that they are getting Salmonella in the peanut butter.

My FH ate some of that stupid peanut butter. I was fussing at him about all of that saturated fat and sugar while he was putting about a 1/2 inch layer on his pb & j. Then later we found out about the recall. Yep, those guys should just listen to us more often, right ladies? :bbwink:
