My boss just called and was SO glad I was here to make some phone calls for him. I'm here because I don't have Inet at home, so it's not like I'm working. Plus Mark has to work until 11pm, so I'm not missing him.
The point? All of our execs think I'm SUCH a hard worker and dedicated because I'm here at 7:30 at night, when I'm really just playing on the computer. Of course I do my job really well, I do put in extra hours (I'm salaried), and am there when push comes to shove. Maybe I'll get me ANOTHER raise (I've been here a little over a month, and have already received an almost 20% raise).
Situation just tickled my funny bone.

Good for you with the raises. Watch yourself that they don't check your history and times on the computer though. Not trying to be a bummer here.

Whoaaaa that's some jump. Congrats!
Rather ironic when you think of it though .... some people go on strike just to get a 3% raise.

I'm on the computer all day, part of my job. And if they check the times I'm on particular sites? I think that taking 15 minutes out of my work day (especially since I'm usually here at 7:30 am, sometimes later, sometimes earlier, even though my day doesn't officially start at 8am), and being on here at night (my day "officially" ends at 5pm), is acceptable. I also do work on weekends. I probably do 50-60 hours of work a week, including some weekends so I doubt they'll complain.
Sorry if that came out defensive. Just didn't want everyone to think I spend my work day "playing on the computer" when I'm actually using my own time, just the company's internet, to get on this board.

LOL but that's what I am doing and I don't care what people think :)
Truth be told, when push comes to shove, I put in my 110% as well.
