We had a pretty tramatic night last night here in Salt Lake.
I also heard there was a shooting in Philly about the same time. I haven't really looked into that one yet.

Oh my gosh that is horrible..Yes there was one in Philly too it was some business man, I only caught bits and pieces of it on the news. Anyhow, it's just scary what people do and the ages they are doing it these days...It's horrifying..

I know. He was only 18 and came in just shooting like that. He had a pump action rifle and a handgun. His backpack was full of ammo. One the people that died was a 15 year old girl. It makes me so angry! the only part that sucks about him being dead is, we probably will never know his motive.

The whole world has gone mad.

And it seems that here lately, it's 16-18 year old guys that just decide to go shoot up the place. In a suburb of DC last year, a young guy drove around the local police station and just started shooting. And then, of course, he was killed. Which is frustrating. I'd rather see him rot in jail.

I just think it's disturbing the ages these kids are that are shooting people. I don't know if it's poor parenting or what but my god. What is going on in these kid's head that they are compelled to harm another human and in some instances then take their own life. I just can't imagine what is going thru their minds..

There are tons of people with mental health issues. That may be part of it. But at their age, apparently, their parents aren't interested in their lives or aren't around enough to pick up the "signs". It's quite tragic.

Thank goodness, it was not close to me. It was in the downtown area, about 20 minutes from me. I was glued to my TV last night and first thing this morning. I feel so bad for the victims and their families. They were just eating in restaurants and shopping in stores. You should have seen the people clutching their children. I can't imagine going through something like that. It's really very sad.

ow theres sootings all the time :( i wish there wassomething we could do about all the guns hanging aroud bt i dont think there is anything :(

maybe start like a women against guns or somehting like that activist group i dont know, like ppl are aoud to own guns but when your done with it, maybe metal can be burnt and used for something else intead of just getting rid of it and having an extra gun for this disturbed kid to get at.

I am downtown in the Salt lake area. It was scary. My soon to be brother in law was there all night as he is part of the SWAT team. I am just glad that it wasn't worse. I feel bad for those who died and were injured but in a place that size many more could have been harmed!!

Oh yes. It could have been alot worse than it was. That is a big area. (it take up about 4 city blocks). I am glad to hear your brother came out allright and I thank him for going in and taking care of all those people.

We haven't heard much today. But thanks for that. As my fiance and all of them in his family will say, it is just his job. They are very in to the police work and my fiance has done bodyguard work and was in the Army for 11 years.

That is soo scary! I heard that on the news. I hate to see that happening. We had a bad shooting here in Vermont last summer, it was very scary not to know where my family was to make sure they were safe.

I sure do wish parents would teach these kids that guns KILL people. They get to playing their video games and think that it is the same thing. Maybe if they would learn there are consequences to their actions...some of these things would stop happening. I'm so sad for the families. I can't imagine how scary something like that would be.
