I wish we had 10 inches of snow!!!!! I was hoping when I woke up this morning, that there would be SOMETHING. Just sleet.
The afternoon commute should be a real blast........
Give me snow any day over ice. This sucks.

lol we have a blizzard warning, (and not like the ones from the blizzard post earlier! from DQ). It snowed a little last night and is suppose to snow up to 12 inches before tonight. Blah on Tuesdays I dont have classes I just work all day so sadly while Matthews only class of the day got cancelled I still have to work all day lol

They're calling for some snow, then some ice/sleet, and then more snow on top of it!! I don't like the ice forget that...But this time of year the snow is great. I already told the boys if we have a snow day we are having a Valentines day snowball battle-my fh included!!!! I'm getting out the red food color to make our snowballs red! This should get interesting!!!
Caleb's Bride
02-13-2007, 10:23 AM
Just make sure the snowballs don't have ice in them. LOL! That could hurt.....
Have fun! I'm jealous.
We might be getting some snow too, but with ice on top of it as well, it just sucks.
Everybody that is getting this wintery mix, please be careful!
shawnsgirl
02-13-2007, 10:28 AM
No, won't do it with the ice...My boys are 6 and 3, I don't want them getting hurt..They'll get a kick out of the red snow though!!! LOL....I should use the yellow food coloring in the snow and make a snowball out of it..Let FH think it was something else if you know what I mean..LOL..If I could actually pull it off that would be funny!!

I just watched the weather and in my part of pa, they are calling for 16 inches plus of snow. It's suppose to start this afternoon and end early Thursday. I wish I got snow days with my job, cause I'm not looking forward to working Thursday.

I think we touched base on this once before but we're not too far away from eachother. I'm right on the border of the 10"-16+" region and the 6-10" so I guess we'll find out soon enough huh?? It's neat that we both live so close to eachother!!!

I was actually out your way on Saturday to visit my SIL. That is pretty cool. Yeah, we normally get a lot of now since we are supposably in a higher altatude. I don't know. You're right, we'll have to wait and see.

I'm also in PA, but not sure yet how much snow they're callling for in my part of the state. We've been getting flurries off and on but no real snowfall or accumulation until later this afternoon and overnight. May have to take a vacation day rather than try to get out on the roads in the morning tomorrow, depending on how bad things are. I'm not thrilled with the idea of driving in a wintry, icy mix.

Aww...sorry to hear about all the rain, sleet, and now snow to top it all off!
Right now we have nothing but grass, and the light dustings we've had recently here are gone. I don't mind the snow, and really we're due because we've really had not a bad winter here. This is our first snow of the season with actual accumulation, so I can't complain too much. Especially since warmer weather is almost here.
I just don't want to drive in this kind of weather. If it's a few inches of snow, fine. But not the wintry mix.
Here's hoping the weather doesn't postpone Valentine's Day plans!
Oh, yay! It's awesome to have a club of local brides going on here :)

The snow finally let up a little here, but now everything on the streets is starting to freeze (it rained all day yesterday).
My car is rear wheel drive, and I live on very windy roads...I'm very scared to drive home, especially with my son in the car! :sob:

Be careful! OMG, I cannot do rear wheel drive! I have front wheel drive and I am not going out in this.
Things are continuing to deteriorate here. We are close to a white out with visibility less than .25 miles, the winds are at about 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph. We are under a level 2 snow emergency, which means to go out only if necessary.

We're under a winter storm warning here. In fact the snow just started falling a little while ago. I guess the further south you go, like down to the Ohio border, the worse it is.
We're supposed to get as much as 10 inches by morning. I wish it was one of those times where you could just sit back and watch the snow fall and not have to go to work!
I have a training class for work tomorrow that I'm hoping gets cancelled! *crossing fingers*

There are tons of things canceled here. Even businesses are closing early, restaurants included, I don't ever recall that happening. It also amazes me how many things are normally going on, every conceivable kind of group. I don't have rehearsal so I can stay in!

I've heard talk of schools being cancelled here tomorrow but that's all I've heard so far. I'm sure they will let us know one way or the other. If I have to go I'd rather go to work seeing as that's only a less than 15 minute drive. This class is an hour away in good weather so I can only imagine!
I can't believe how some places stay open when it's treacherous outside. Stay home where it's safe ya know?
We're in for the night too, as soon as Mike gets home. He was leaving Ann Arbor at 3. If the roads aren't bad down there he should be walking in the door any second.

I know, it sucks Mike still had to work today. He said he skidded at one point and was traveling sideways, but he was able to straighten out of it. He works second shift, so I hope he can get home safely! At least he has 4 wheel drive, but if we were to get upgraded to level 3 the roads are basically closed except to emergency vehicles. He was joking about having to sleep at his desk, that would really suck!
too bad the hospitals never close on snow days! i think i'll get out later if anything

He really can't. If you are a nonemergency vehicle and are on the roads during a level 3 you are subject to arrest. Of course you have to be caught and I doubt they are sending police out unless there is a severe emergency. I'll just have to wait it out and hope the worst passes before he has to leave. We are officially in a blizzard as of now.
I hope your Mike made it back safely.

I hope Andy gets home safe...We're getting the worst of the storm from 3am-11am for us...We're all home though so if I decide I am going to work tomorrow that will be the time for me to get out on the roads (if I can get out of my driveway first lol)

ARGH! We are getting all this snow. We are suppose to get close to 16 in by tommorow morning. It is so nasty out there. I just had to run out to the store. The kids are off school and they are enjoying riding the snowmobiles outside. Me nope I hate the cold. But I love to watch them though. I hope it ends before tommorow and doesn't get to bad I have to go to the dentist tommorow morning for 9:30 and the drive is 45 min. away.

The dentist may close if it gets that bad. We have had doctors, dentists, malls and restaurants closed b/c of that storm and you guys have it worse than us! Just about everything is closed here. So I would definitely call ahead tomorrow.

I plan on just cancelling if we get the whole 16 in. of snow. I really hope though that the reports are wrong and some other place will get hit instead of us that bad. Yeah all the schools in the county I live in are closed today. But nothing else yet. I am sure that they will if this snow and the drifting continues though.

I don't know what part of NY you are in, but the East coast and esp. the Buffalo area are supposed to get it worse than us. We had a low pressure, moisture filled system come out of the South and it combined with arctic air from the North and that set up the blizzard conditions. You guys have all of that plus additional lake effect snow from the great lakes and another low pressure system creeping North along the East coast (the Nor-easter, as I have heard it referred to).

I live near DC and we had a mix of sleet and ice... it snowed, iced, then sleet, more ice and then more snow... We have about 5 inches of stuff. It looks like snow out there but when you actually walk on it, its a mix... our roads suck but things arent nearly as bad here as in other places.

It's snowing like crazy .... and apparently it's not even halfway done yet. The amount of snow down now is supposed to double or triple by tomorrow morning.

I live in the North East part of NY. But thankfully we aren't going to be hit as hard with the lake effect snow. A county over is getting slammed with that fun stuff. We are only pretty much getting pelted with their leftovers.
