In my journal Sarlovesmike inspired me to post a thread here about those moments that hit you like a rock and you that wow we're getting married!!! I thought this would be a fun thread to see where it goes...
Here I will share one of my moments:
FH and I were watching a show..It was bridezilla or something..I can't remember what it was. Anyhow the bride and groom on the show were exchanging vows. I began to bawl like a baby becuase it hit me that Shawn will be saying those things to me and vice versa...I turn to my fiance and say to him...We're going to be doing that in 7 months still crying my eyes out..It was just one of those moments that hit me and sunk in that wow we are getting married!!! I'm sure I must scare FH sometimes with instances like these..Either he thinks I'm really hormonal or I am psycho when it comes to weddings..LOL!

Kevin and I have some sort of a "eye opener" that we're getting married a few times a day.
This past summer when our friends got married I think it really hit Kevin. I had just walked back up the aisle and he was running after me. I thought something was wrong or I had ripped my dress the way he was charging after me. He just grabbed me and hugged me and cried. He kept going on about how we're next and he's so happy. It was so sweet, you don't usually accpect guys to get like that about wedings.
For me I think the other day we were looking at the flyers int eh local paper liek we always do. With Valentine's day coming up there is jewllery on everything and we started to look at wedding bands and what we like and so on. From there we started to talk about me changing my name and that by next Valentine's day we're going to be married. It was so overwhelming!

We seem to have these moments all the time, and more now that the date is actually getting closer.
We decided this past summer to go and spend the day in the town where we are getting married. We went up there on the weekend before or after our actual wedding date. We walked around and took some pictures of everything. We went down to the actual spot where the ceremony will be to take some more pictures. He got really quiet all of a sudden and then said something about how he couldn't believe he was actually standing in the spot where we were going to be married a year from now. He had tears in his eyes and thanked me for making all his dreams come true, that's when I started to get teary.
It was all too surreal standing in that spot knowing that a year from now we would be saying our vows.

Awwww that's so nice!!! Kevin and I pass our hall a few tiems a week and everytime we go passed the 2 of us really can't say much we both just know what one another are thinking. It usually results in one of us looking at the other and saying "I love you, do you know that?"

Can I post mine?
The moment that hit me like a boudler was when I was on my way to the church, sitting at the light (waiting to turn left)w my parents. I saw Josh fly by in his truck. All I could see was part of his jacket, hit balck had, and my son's black hats. That is when I realized.........
I'M GETTING MARRIED!! IT's ACTUALLY HAPPENING!!!
It's wasn't a bombshell moment, but I will never forget the felling I had at that moment. It still brings tears to my eyes and butterlflies to my tummy!

Me and Brian have had a few of those moments. Usually just when we are talking, about things for the wedding. IT brings tears to my eyes, every time he tells me he can't wait until he can call me his wife and my name will change. Another time was a couple of weeks ago, I was fooling around with the kids at the dinner table and telling them that after me and their father got married. That they were going to take my last name instead of keeping there father's. Brian looked at me and said I don't think so. I have a weird last name and everyone always slaughter's it. LOL..... the kids were like NOOOOOO! we don't want your last name we like our last name. Brian then looked at me with the deepest love and said no we will all have the same last name in just a few months. It was nothing to cry over, but I do every time I think of it. It makes me so happy.

Thank you, I think the little things that he does like that mean more to me. Then buying me jewerly, or flower's. He isn't the most romantic man there is out there. But when he looks at me like that, that is all I need. :)

It really is the little things that mean the most. They are the ones that come from the heart. Money can buy anything, but it's the things from the heart that say really show your love.

Such sweet stories! What a nice thread!!
My "OMG it's really happening" moment was last week. The church sent me a rough draft of the wedding bulletin. At the top it said "The Marriage Ceremony of Albert Joseph V., Jr. and Stacey Lynn Mc." I stared at it for a moment. Then, at the bottom it said "Introduction: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Joseph V., Jr." That's when I said OMG! WE'RE GETTING MARRIED! I don't know why the year and two month's planning hasn't made it sink in, but the bulletin sure did!
Joe's really cute - he'll e-mail me every once in a while with a countdown. I think it's neat when he does that. And....he'll give me a hug and says "OK, wife to be!"

That is to sweet with the e-mail..... that is such a nice thing that the church did put it in the bulletin.

ooohh me too...me too....
okay, it probably REALLY hit me when I was at my parent's house getting dressed...I had my MOH fixing my pins in my hair, and my mom helping with the dress. I was soooo happy. My step-mom came over to me and said.."I'm so happy for you two. You are a great mother, and soon a great wife. Me and your dad are so proud of you.
It hit me that in less than 2 hours I was going to be Mrs. Tiffany Heider :soppy:
Then, as we were saying our vows (we wrote our own BTW)..Joe began to cry. It was so heartfelt.

Ahhh. I love hearing all these stories....Mine wasn't as sappy that which was the most recent one...Although I had a moment with my FMIL that got be teary eyed too...
Here it is....
I threw a surprise 30th birthday party that I had been planning prior to even him proposing...The party was only two weeks after we were engaged. Anyhow, his parents were up for it and she came over, along with his sister, aunt, uncle, and grandma. Out of everyone that came from his side of the family; I had only knew his parents and his sister. Some of his family I was meeting for the first time..Keep in mind they do live quite a distance away from us. Anyhow, When my FIL's came to the house and seeing them it hit me that these people were going to become my family too. As I was thinking about that FMIL came up to me with a huge hug and turned my e-ring for good luck. That really hit me that wow, I'm marrying their son and I did everything I could to hold back my tears...It's just one moment I will always treasure!

I used to cry alot at weddings; especially during the vows, dance with dad and such ... just because I wanted to be married. HaHa, now I just cry because it is romantic and sweet I guess ;)
DH and I used to make comments like "this time next (year, month, etc) we will be married ... Next (insert holiday here) we will be able to buy husband/wife cards"
I think that was about it for us

You're right, we've had a ton of moments, but that one - it seemed a little different...I can't explain it.
It seems almost surreal that the wedding is almost here. We've planned and planned and planned and it doesn't seem like it will ever get here.

I know that's the truth!
We were just talking about that yesterday. When we got engaged last December we were 18 months away from the wedding. Now with 4 months (not nearly as close as you are) to go it's like, let's do this already!!
It will be here before we know it. That's what's so exciting, for all of us.

Jonathan and I have been engaged for over a year now and everything seemed so slow until just recently.
We've been doing a lot more wedding related stuff and its starting to seem real. I cried just the other day when Jonathan and I walked into our new house. He looked at me and said "you're going to be my wife soon and I cant wait." Okay this isnt the most original thing but it was like he had a revalation about it which triggered me into tears.
Now we have some sort of moment everyday, whether its both of us or just one of us... usually me... it happens and I think its a great feeling!
