hi i'm Saunya and those who don't know countrygirl is Heather. and this is our journal. i don't think we know what exactly we are going to put in here, but i know it will be good. :D i think i will start what my goals are first and then i think we are going to discuss what has worked for us and what hasnt so we dont make the same stupid mistakes. :D
well im 160 pounds and i want to lose 10 inches in my waist and 10 in each thigh and tone up my arms. im hoping not to lose any boobie lol it took me forever to get these girls, and im not ready to part with them yet lol. also it would be nice if i could lose 30 pounds in the next 8 months :D sooner would be nice but hey, i don't want to be greedy.

Hey Saunya! Good Luck to you and Heather in your weight loss goals! I'm trying to loose some weight myself and was thrilled to find out i lost 4 pounds today! lol!

Well, I guess it's my turn.
I'm Heather, which most of you know. I am 5'11, about 165 lbs. It changes.
I was married 11/11/06, so I am not trying to loose anything for the wedding. But I HAVE gotten flabby (very flabby) since the wedding, and I want to fix that!!
I have cut coffee (ouch!) out of my diet, and limit myself to 1-2 soda's a week. I joined a gym for the first time last week, but haven' gone yet because we have had J's aunt in town for the past week, and don't want to leave while she is here. She goes home today, so maybe this weekend, I will go for the first time. I can't wait for that!
Like I said, I don't really want to loose weight per say, but I want to loose inches, and gain some tone and muscle mass. I play softball 2 nights (3-6) games a week, so that will help in keeping up w motivation.
I just want to say that I think this is a great idea, and if anyone has questions, or suggestions, I think Saunya and I both will be happy to hear them. Good luck.

Keeping a journal is a great idea, Ladies!! Sounds like both of your goals are very attainable, and you're well on your way!!! Keep us updated!

Thanks Maria, I think that having this will help me personally because I know that I can't lie very well. I want to be able to say on here that I am working towards my goal, and mean it.
I think on Friday, I am going to get my fitness test done at the gym.That will help me to reach my goal too.

i think the biggest problem i'm going to have is getting to workout everyday. but i have decided to get up early in the monring to do circuts and cardio. and then flexability at night before bed. help be relax a little. i hope it works out. and i know i wont get punished if i miss a day. i haven't had any fast food today, and i had half a coffee with less sugar then i usually have. woo hoo a step in the right direction. lol. i think it will take the rest of febuary to actualy have my rutine set and going. lol i thought this was suppose to be going at the begining lol. we will see lol. a bonus is that i celan houses all day so i know i will be moving often and no sitting around for me :D. well thats it lol. tomorrow i will let you know if i caved or not ;) lol.

Yeah, that's what I love so much about having a buddy. She asks me about how my workouts are going almost every day, and I can't lie, so it makes me do it! LOL...

This morn, I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast, so I had to stop and get something, again, the first in a week. I too have to work on doing some excercises each day. I am strange, I can't do them infront of josh. Maybe I feel like I will do them wrong or something. But he leaves so early in the am, I could do them before I get ready for work.

Heather, I am the same as you. I can't do excercises in front of Adam either. I think it's because he is such a gym buff and I feel like I am doing something wrong.

Thank you!!! I used to have my own little workout that worked for me. I thought I was doing everything right, but the first time that Josh caught me, he said it was wrong. He wasn't being mean, he just goes to the gym on a reg basis, so he knows better than I do.

I would ask him about that. Good form is 75% of the battle. When you are exercising with poor form at best you are not getting the optimum workout for your time and at worst you are more likely to injure yourself. It is far better to lift 5 lb. weights correctly than 10 lbs. incorrectly and it is better to do a lower level of cardio and can do it without holding onto the machine. As you get stronger you can increase the weight and the levels, but don't sacrifice form. If you have any questions about form, I may be able to help as well.

lol today i cheated lol i had two coffee's and a small bowl of chips lol. but im okay it was while watching greys lol omg i love it!! three part eppisode :D ya!! anyway..... just a heads up tomorrow i will cheat lol it's a girls birthday at work and im bringing in cheese cake :D theres no way im missing out on that lol. i will just have to work extra hard at work lol. but now its really late and im going to sleep in tomorrow so i wont have my work out until after work if im sore from going up and down stairs lol. and i know how you feel about workingout in front of your man lol. i feel like he's going to make fun or tell me i'm doing them wrong lol. i know he wouldnt lol (cuz he knows how much trouble he'll get in) lol.

arg!! i cheated lots and haven't done any of my workouts. i have been really sick, so i just want to lay in bed, (and come on here of course) but lifting any weights forget it. i guess carrying food from the car to my apt. is good enough lol. huge work out lol. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i'm going to pretend it is. lol. how are you doing heather?

Saunya, don't feel so bad. I totally cheated this weekend. It was my bday yesterday, and I pigged out on junk food. I was also supposed to go work out on Friday, but wen shopping instead. I started today, and haven't don't too badly. I had a grilled ck salad, and had nothing but water and Ice Tea to drink. And I am going to work out tonight. J said he would stay home w the kids, so that will help tons.
Don't worry. We will get thru this! I promise!!!

it would be alot easier if kyle didn't eat **** infront of me all day. lol plus everyone i know is skinny so eating with them i eat the same and i don't lose anything lol. like yesterday kyle made a hole bunchof cookies, ya thats all i have been eating cuz i don't wantto make a real dinner. and when kyle made dinner for him and my daughter then i wasn't hungry lol. darn my no will power lol.

I did better yesterday. I didn't have any soda, only Ice Tea and water. I had so much water I was in the potty have the day. You prob didn't need to know that. I had a salad at lunch, and made backed chick, pasta, and green beans. And drank more water. I didn't make it to the gym, fam stuff.
Today, I had a trail mix bar, cheese stick, a HEALTHY subway sub, and have had water and Ice Tea again all day. Tonight, Josh and I are going to the gym. I am actually excited about hitting the treadmill tonight.

So, last night, I ate a lite meal, and went to the gym, for the first time. I have free guest passes so I took Josh. AndI get free child care there, so Nico got to play in the kids area.
Anyway, I wieghed myself for the first time in months. I weigh 168, I am 5'11, and I have no clue about my BMI or anthing. I just know that I have alot of flab that I need to turn into muscle.
I did 3 miles on the treadmill, and worked my upper arms. My back is a bit tight today, but That is about it. I actually had fun there!

i would love to go to the gym, but i dont have anyone to go with. hey melissa (camel) if you read this d you have a family fitness pass? anyway today i had lots of coconut cream pie and teas. i have a sore throat so hot tea was good for it and since i dont like the tea i kindaad alot of sugar with it. lol. no workng out cuz i still feel like poo. but i got a new book with a **** load of moves, they should last me until i get married lol.

Nope, I have a Watson's membership...I like it better becuase their machines have individual TV's :p

Ah, thanks a bunch! I have no idea how you are to figure that out, but I guess I don't need to now!!
I haven't done anything in the way of working out, or eating healthy, because I have been sick of course. But I am doing better now, so I can going again. Josh had a blast at the gym w me the other night, and really wanted to go last night, but since I was sick, and it's my membership, he couldn't go. I think we will go tomorrow though. The membership I have allows me to have 10 guest passes for anytime, and then on Sat and Sun, I can bring anyone for free w out using the passes. We figure he can come w me for a few months, then he will join. He really liked that gym.

That is so true. I am not a huge water drinker, so it's hard to get started on just that, but once I do get started, I can see the results quickly. I did it last time and lost 25 lbs in a month. I haven't been drinking soda much, though I did have a few on Wed to settle my tummy.

I haven't done anything to work out since last Tues. I was sick the rest of the week, and still fighing off the cold. But I am going to the gym tonight to at least hit the treadmill. I will weigh myself then to see if I lost anything. I did notice this morn that my tummy looked flatter from not eating much in four days, but that was prob water weight anyway.

i know!! its a terrible world. !! well i have fallen off the wagon :( i have been eating soo much **** and drinking sooo much coffee.. now im so bloated my pants hurt lol the inch is still off my bumm but my gut looks a little larger lol ohh well... i will have to start again on the not eating **** tomorrow lol i think i can i think i can....how are you doing with everything heather?

Well, I haven't done too too badley this week, though I haven't done as well as I had hoped. I did go to the gym twice so far, and mainly did the treadmill. I tried the eliptical yesterday, and I don't like it. The strides are so short on them. I am almost six feet tall, my legs are exactly three feet long, and those things just aren't made for tall people. I tried it for 10 minutes and could never get an even, comfortalbe stride. Josh said that is feet fall asleep when he tries it. He is six-four, and his legs are as long as mine.
When I went to they gym on Tues, I had lost a pound from lsat week, but I think that was water weight due to being sick. I did have a couple coffees this week, but no soda. And I have given up fast food for lent, so that should help w the weight loss too.

No, 12,000 calories is prob right. You don't want 120,000, that would just be bad!
I have messed up so bad. I wasn't going to have soda, or fast food, yeah, I blew that one. I have never had so much trouble trying to stick to eating healthy before. We are so busy now a days, that it's nearly impossible.

i lost two inches in each thigh!!:D woo hoo 8 more to go. none in my tummy though :( thats okay. good news havent lost that much boobie. only half an inch. they were too big anyway lol. Havent heard from you in a while heather just wondering what you have been up to.?

Hey Saunya, sorry, I have been so busy and just getting over being sick for a month. I actually gained two pounds while I was sick. I did go back to the gym two nights ago, and hit the stair climber, which I loved. I was supposed to go back again tonight, but didn't make it. Spring cleaning my closet got the best of me.
Congrats on the loss saunya.that is great. Keep up to good work!!

1,200 is probably right. That's what I'm eating to lose weight. They say that it's the bare minimum calories to eat so that your metabolism doesn't drop.

Hey Saunya!! Man, I havent been around much at all. How are you?
I am doing well. Aside from the everyday stress, I am ok. I hven't been to gym in quite some time, as we are constantly on the go. When the kids' sports are over, I will be back on track.
I don't know that I have lost anything yet, but I have been cutting back on soda and coffee during the week. I only drink alittle of soda on the weekends and one to two cofees a week, rather than one a day.

the only thing i have been sticking too for the diet is not going to mcdonalds and not having tv dinners, i have pop once in a while but still have coffee everyday. i tried to stop drinking coffee altogether but i got really moody and had headachs (can we say addicted??) lol. but i do manage to go to the gym atleast once a week, its not everyday but its a start, i feel more energetic then i did before so yay me. i dont think i lost anything except for two inches in each thigh and an inch of boobage lol. i dont feel as bloated as i use to. so i guess feeling healthier is better then obsessing about weight loss.
