She probably did it with a well rounded, aggressive fitness plan and a very healthy eating plan with very small meals spaced every 2 hours.

My b'f advised me to go to weight watchers and pick up the starter kit. I mean I only weigh 135 but I have some baby fat I wanted to work off and just couldnt!
I finally picked up the kit and so far I've lost 5lbs in 2 weeks.
It's isnt a special diet you go on it is the way you eat. Cutting back on certain things like instead of regular mayo go to light. Taste the same but it helps.
There is a journal which lets you keep track of how many points you ate that day. Usually you max is like 37 points or something. It gives you great meal ideas and healty snack ideas.
You can eat what you normally eat but at portions.
Like today I had for
breakfast 2 pancakes eggs and bacon, water
snack Carrots, water
Lunch Spagetti, piece of bread, water
Snack a special K protein bar, water
And for dinner a Chicken Salad, water
snack watermelon
You deduct points for working out like a 30 minute walk -3 points :)
Although this does not work for all people but it is a start to trying something, it may or maynot work.
Good luck

losing 40 pounds in 3 months would no be healthy... unless you weighed an over the top amount, even for an overweight person 40 pounds in 12 weeks isn't really that healthy.
My advice would be to simply cut back on snacks and drink lots of water. Try to pour water over the remainder of your meal when you think you are full so that you are not tempted to eat the rest of it when you really aren't hungry

That was actually my first response, but I did the math and it only comes out to about 3 lbs per week. Which is a little high, on average you can expect to lose about 2 lbs. per week, but it's not over the top high. As long as it wasn't achieved through starvation then it isn't bad. I think it is attainable if you exercise aggressively and keep your metabolism as high as possible.
Yeah i would like to know her secret too.
There are not any secrets to fitness. It all boils down to burning more calories than you consume. You do have to give your body what it needs in terms of enough calories and nutrition so it can function properly and won't feel the need to store fat. You have to be active and your eating and exercise program needs to be a lifetime commitment.
It seems like so many people look for a secret or a quick fix, find some plan or pill and may actually lose the weight. Then they think, oh I am there and then go right back to their old habits, gain the weight back and wonder why.
