DH and I were talking about how little he sleeps when he works. He says it is because he is use to it. He does get to sleep in on weekends though.

So I was curious how others slept.

Me, on average I get a good 8 hours a night. Sometimes more if the the dogs let me sleep in  ;)

Now that I am working and not going to school I am getting on average 7-8 hours on work nights. When I was going to school I probably average more 5-6 hours. No wonder I was always a cranky girl!!! I feel much better and rested these days.

I try so hard to eat well and exercise that I'm not going to ruin it all by not getting enough sleep! I usually get between 7 and 9 hours. My fiance only gets about 5 or 6 hours because he works at the restaurant so late and then his first class begins at 6 a.m. I worry about him! :sob: He usually gets to catch up on the weekends though.

I love to get upwards of ten hours a night but for some reason everyone thinks that's too much. Usually I get between eight and ten hours. I would love to get more. :D

I don't think 10 hours is too much! Thats what my body naturally needs! Whenever I'm allowed to wake up naturally, (which is very rare) I have slept 10 hours! But with the kids etc I usually get about 6-8 hours!:( (gutted)

I have been taking naps lately which makes me feel really old, so somedays I will sleep my normal 9 hours then take a 3 hour nap when I get home from work lol

I usually get about 7-8 hours, or as close as possible, if I get more than that I feel groggy all day.

I live such an erractic schedule because of being a Resp. Therapist, that it is hard to generalize how much sleep I get. When I work a night, which is usually once a week, I'll take a 2-3 hour nap during the day, then maybe a 2 hour nap the day after. If I'm working days, which is usually 2 days a week, I sleep 7 or 8 hours, if I get to bed early. I have to be up by 4:30AM to get to work, though, so that doesn't always happen. Bruce is really good about letting me sleep in, if I can.

I cant sleep more than 6 hours or I have a really bad headache all throughout the next day. I never did sleep alot when I was a kid so I think its just me all the time. When I'm really sick, sometimes I'll sleep a lot more. Once I'm up I cant go back to sleep until about 12 or 1am.

Most of the time I get between 7-8 hours of sleep a night. I can't function well on much less than that.

7-8 usually. Depending on what's happening i get less because i am having too much anxiety to sleep. But if things are going well i will take 10 hours on the weekends.
I am also a napper! I love to have a good afternoon nap. lol! Sometimes on the weekends with a nap i can push 12 hours of sleep. It makes me feel really lazy. But i love it!

Usually its about 8 hour...definitely not enough. I'm the type of person that needs at least 10 hours a day....and I definitely dont' get it, especially with having a dog now.

My nights are never the same. For the most part I get between 6 and 7 ( nore on the 6 part ) hours but that is never straight through. About 2 or 3 times a week one or both kids are up for one reason or another during the night. And my husband sleeps through it so Iam the one who has to get up and then try to get back to sleep. On the weekends I get alot, the kids are at their dads and my husband is working so I will be up late with him and sleep in late int eh morning. I would say I get about 10 on the weekends. And I may nap during the day as well for about and hour or so. I am thinking this is from being pregnant though. I get tired easy.

On average, I'd say that I usually get 8 hours of sleep. I think in order to feel "fully alert" and generally just be my total and complete self, I need 9 hours. I used to think I needed 10, but I think I just prefer it!! :grinhappy:

now that i am working for myself i get as much as i need. lol. sometimes i work till 2 or 3 am and still get up early, but you can bet i am taking a nice long nap that afternoon. i have learned to sleep when my body tells me to and wake as well.
