I thought this was somewhat ammusing since i'm Canadian. I did notice alot of the answers i chose where ones used through out the sates or Norther states which makes sence since i have always lived somewhat close to the boarder in Toronto and Calgary!
Thanks! This was fun!
41% (Yankee). Barely in the Yankee category.

49% Yankee girl here! Which in a way makes sense since I live in Pennsylvania. But, I did grow up in West Virignia...what the hell happened there?

I'm a southern girl born & raised!
This was too cute. Thanks for sharing, Weblady!

I got 31% (Yankee). You are definitely a Yankee.
And I had my FH take the test. He was born and raised in West Vierginia and I was born and raised in Maine. So I had to see what his score would be as well.
He got 68% (Dixie). Just under the Mason-Dixon Line
This was cool thanks for posting it.

hehe
My husband said I shouldn't have posted it that some people might get offended.
I just thought it was funny, it is not like I calling anyone a yankee or a redneck or anything
I am glad everyone liked it and took it for what it was, a joke
Happy Holidays!

Hmm and I am from Vermont!
I found it amusing how many things I say a certain way and they are used in this area that I never thought much about. I can thank my cousin for my saying y'all. She got me doing it when she came back from college down south. I guess it stuck

My "y'all" came from going to college in the south for two years. :)
And I picked up "eh" from going to college in Northern Michigan for two years.
And to top it of...I'm a midwesterner and it's SODA! Not pop like the rest of those silly midwesterners say it. :D

I've always called it Soda. Some people here call it Pop, and my family in OK does too, but I call it soda.

I've always called it Soda. Some people here call it Pop, and my family in OK does too, but I call it soda.
Most of my family refers to it as "coke" no matter what the flavor .... "Get me a coke" when they actually wanted a Dr. Pepper  Sadly, I use to do this too but I have grown out of it, now I just say soda.
I never thought of myself as really 'southern' in the way I speak. I noticed on the test that the way I said most things was not really southern, but some things were.
I have been here in Georgia most all of my life. I did live in California for about 4 years, but that was when I was little, I think from like 2-6 yrs old.
I try not to say things like "y'all" and "ant" and such but I catch myself doing it at times depending on who I am around.
My score again was "58% (Dixie). Right on the Mason-Dixon Line" I am not sure what that really means, but I guess GA has rubbed off on me at least a bit

My score was 45% Yankee (barely in the Yankee category), which surprised me! I have been to the East Coast a few times, but am from Indiana, so I figured I would have more of a southern speech.. neat!

I usually, call the drinks by name - Dp, Coke, etc. Now my kids call them "can drinks". :? I have no earthly idea where this came from.

Ok, i'm 45% Yankee which is odd. I've lived in Northeast PA all my life. And I don't travel much. But, of course people have always told me I talk like I'm from the south. No clue why I do that though

That's funny Ruby. I bet it is cold there! I think that, especially due to the Internet, we pick up words and phrases from all over the country. If you notice, not many of us scored drastically one way or the other, we're all pretty much in the middle.
I found it ironic that a few of the phrases that were labeled "Midwest" I had NEVER EVEN HEARD OF! Lol.
