Does anyone else advertise on Google AdWords. If it is working for you, may I ask how much your monthy budget for Google AdWords you set aside? Thanks!
Hey babytobride. Here is a good tutorial on getting the best out of Google Adwords (http://www.akamarketing.com/google-adwords-guide.html)

Google Adwords isn't very effective for me. But, I include it as part of my overall advertising strategy: saturation. My goal is to be anywhere that a competitor could think of advertising.
So, I hold my adword ads at .10 per click with a max daily budget of $5. Haven't gotten anywhere near to $5 per day.
Once again, in order to make this method work, one must stand out from the crowd .. that can be tough with the limitations of AdWords: very small number of words, no abbreviations, grammar, etc.
For those who are not well indexed in Google, AdWords is absolutely essential.

I also use adwords. I have not seen a boost in sales resulting in this ad, however I have seen an increase in hits for my website.
I set my limit at $1.00 a day.

This is good to hear. I have been told that unless you spend over 1K a month add words is useless. Thanks for the info!

Ensure your website has links, ensure others have linked to you, ensure your keywords and meta tags are current, up to date and reflect your webpage, then contiune to adjust. IE: do a msn search of "wedding officiant in jacksonville florida" You'll find me on the 1st page (Michael Scaliatine) and I have spent ZERO dollars on adwords. A google search finds me within the top 50, and "onewed" is number 1 (I am listed of course). I hope that others have had success with google adwords, I just don't see spending the money....Just my humble opinion.....JaxNotary

We have also put a lot of time and energy into increasing our web visibility and our Google ranking has increased by doing the things you suggested.
We decided to try Google adsense on our site for a while. Ads placed there do not direct customers to our competitors but they do generate a bit of extra $$$.
Check out Google Analytics if you are interested in seeing the whole picture as far as your stats are concerned. It's so detailed. Awesome.

I useds adwords for awhile. I had my max at $2 a day. I had a few people on my site but never any inquiries. I eventually ended it...I had spent several hundred dollars with nothing out of it. Granted a few people a day were looking but it seemed more of a waste of money. I thought there were more wedding specific websites I can spend my advertising money on.

Well, nothing has been great. Advertising on onewed brings some people to my site. No leads as of yet. I only pay to advertise in one place and that's on brides.com. It's a popular site where a lot of brides go so I've been advertising on their for about 10months at $65 a month. I can't say I've really had any productive leads, but people do come to my site from there. I did it more because of the reputation of the site, a lot of great vendors are on there. My business is still fairly new, only had a few weddings so i'm still struggling with getting my name out there. I just got a large number of people to my site by putting my info on one of my city's local forums. I offered a discount on party planning and whether or not anything comes from that immediately...I got as many people on my site in one day as I do in two weeks. So it's always trial and error and always word of mouth is the best once you get it. Where in PA are you moving to?
