Hi,
I have a wholesale, custom-made wedding/baby favor business, and I am looking to expand my online advertising. Does anyone have any hints/great sites to use? I am not opposed to spending money to advertise, but I don't want to waste money on sites that don't work. Thanks!

I do paid advertising with wedj.com. I've gotten alot of referrals, and have actually booked 5 weddings this past week from clients that found me through that site.
There are plenty others out there too. You just have to search google for good sites.

WeDJ is only for Djs, photographers, and videographers - most of their traffic comes from people looking for DJs as they dont show up on Google at all for anything else.

Try these sites: wedalert.com and topweddingsites.com, Also search for any local sites in your town, usually these allow you to advertise free.

I agree with "eibridal". Check your local bridal websites.
You can check out my LINKS page to see others that I like and most are FREE.

I would start with getting your site linked to as many bridal sites as you can. (Most of them give you a free basic listing) We get hits from many of the free sites that we are on.
The biggest thing with web presence is just being present! Having a place that people can find you anytime, day or night. I have had more people book us from our website than I can tell you about.
We do pay to list on WeDJ.com and here at OneWed.com. Those are the only sites that we pay to list on. Not certain what the booking results are from those 2 sites are as most people just tell me that they found me online and they can't remember what site it was they found us on.
I don't think it hurts to get yourself on as many places as you can. Try a few sites that you pay for and if they don't seem to be working, take it back down to a free listing.
Hope that you get tons of business in 2005!

The most popular local website here charges $2,400.00 (minimum package one year) Am I right in thinking that is outrageous?

OMG . . . are you serious?? That is absolutely insane!! Man, for that $$$ you'd better be getting some serious bookings.
I personally wouldn't pay that for web advertising. I did however pay $1200 for an all color 1/4 page ad in the local phone book for 2005-2006.

Did the phone book add help? I have heard that placing an add in the phone book is not the best idea becouse it directs trafic to your advertiseres as well as you?
