Hello,
Just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. My name is Lisa and I live in Arizona. We got engaged July 2006 but have been slow with the planning. Now all the places seem to be booked so I am having to make accomidations on the date and venues. Plus it is hard to plan across the country. All of our family lives either in NY, near Pittsburgh or in Virginia except us and my Maid of Honor (lives in L.A).
My wedding will be back east (we are still finalizing a venue but it looks like it will be at the Purple Iris in Martinsburg WV). Our wedding date will probably be Friday July 13. Yes, I DO know it is Friday the 13th but that is one of the few dates the venue I like has left AND I thought it could be fun to use "luck" as a theme. What do you all think. Some luck symbols include bamboo, ladybugs, 4 leaf clovers, horseshoes, rabbits feet, fortune cookies, elephants). Not sure which of these we will incorporate or how yet. It is just a creative way to offset the FRIDAY THE 13th vibe:) Am considering bamboo for centerpieces but don't want to much of an "asian" theme. We will have around 100 people. We are trying to stay on a budget as much as possible.
I ordered my dress last week from David's Bridal. As much as I have heard horror stories for them- they still have the best prices hands down. My dress is tea lenth and ivory. I bought a veil as well. I can probably post the dress on here.
I look forward to getting to know you ladies better. I hope you can support me and I can support you. Sometimes it is nice to have a spring board for ideas and problems.
