Josh has a hard time swolling food sometimes. There is a valve type flap in your esophagus that opens and closes allowing food to go down, and keeping it from coming back up. His sticks.

They will sedate him, and put a scope w a small balloon on the end of it down his throat. They will open the balloon up to see what is going on. If he has scar tissue (poss caused by acid reflux) they will remove it.

He will be sore for a bit, but at least he will be able to swollow food w out complications.

I just wish I could be with him.

I'm sorry that you can't get off work to be with him, but hopefully this will solve his problem and he won't have any more problems with swallowing down the road. Let me know how he makes out!

I think they ALL fake it to be babied!!!

He has traffic school tomorrow, and then has to work tomorrow night. He won't be dong too much resting.

I tell you though, he is made of stone. When he had his vascectomy, he was out pulling a truck engine the next day. And when he broke his hand in softball, he played two more games. The dr that fixed his had told him that he is a freak of nature because he does't feel pain like most people, and he doesn't let it keep him down.

Could be!!!!! He is just a big, silly redneck!!! According to him, pain just lets you know that you are still alive!! His grandfather was like that, and had huge hand in raising Josh. I think he got that from him.

My grandma has to have the same procedure done b/c she has a lot of trouble swallowing pills recently and they told her she has a slow esophagus. I'm sure everything will go well and hopefully they can figure out how to solve without an invasive procedure! And that sucks that you can't be there, but at least he isn't alone!

Thanks ladies. I just talked to Josh. He just got out of the recovery room, and he is hilarious. The nurse was telling his friend the post-care instructions, and Josh was attempting to relay them to me. He got them wrong and she was laughing. It was cute. They said it is most likely acid reflux, and that w meds, he should be fine. They did a biopsy of his throat and stomach lining and we find out the results in a few weeks.
