Hello,
This is the first time that I have done this. I really need help with finding a first dance song. I am 19 and will be 20 when i get married. I am marrying my high school sweetheart. I broke up with him twice once before I was engaged and once after because I was stupid. He loved me so much he gave me another chance and I am looking for a song that will say something like everything we have been through , I will always love him. Can you help me find a song. I really need help.
Thanks :? :

What kind of music do you like? Are there any songs that mean something special to you?
Song choice is very personal.. Talk to your FH and see what he thinks.

If you're into country music, Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" may be fitting to your situation. I agree with the other ladies, though, this is something only you and your fiance can decide on for sure, but that is some place so start.

Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts, that sounds fitting for your situation, it was great for me and my HUSBAND (hehe).....we played it during the unity candle lighting though, and we danced to A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson, I didn't want to play it twice in the same day and every song I heard I wanted it for our song so I just picked Kelly's the day before and told the DJ! I loved it...hope this helps...and congrats by the way!

Mine and my FH's first song is going to be Rascal Flats "Bless the Broken Road" but we are both in our 30s so we both have pasts that have made us into the people we fell in love with.
My opinion would be Shania Twain and Brian White's "From This Moment". You future together will really start when you get married and what ever "stupid" mistakes that were made before then will not matter.

Hi
my fiance and i are quite young (ish) like you and your other half and we want a first dance song thats not too old fasioned and drab but one which will still speak from the heart so we have chosen the backstreet boys- i'll never break your heart it has lovley meaningfull lyrics. What ever you chose make sure its meaningfull to both of you and that it will bring back fond memories when you hear it long after your married. Good luck choosing.

song choice is very personal. look at special past events that you've shared and see if there was a particular song that you both love and remind you of each other. my fh and i don't want to have a slow soppy number, cos we're both lively people. so we chose frank sinatra's fly me to the moon. he played it to me on our first valentines day, and since the wed is 11 feb, it just works perfectly for us! plus its fun and jazzy to dance to :)
don't forget bout the father/daughter dance (if you're having one) thats also really special, esp if you're daddy's little girl :D

I love Frank Sinatra. I'm choosing a couple of his songs to play throughout the reception. He's so dreamy!!

I'm all about Frank Sinatra too! Our first dance will be to a Frank Sinatra song...I just love the classic nature of it. Our hors d'eurves hour will have all of Frank Sinatra-y type music behind it...I just love that era and the beautiful nature of the music.
I was thinking last night...have you heard the song "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill? I think that one will also fit your situation.

Ahhh! The many uses of Google! I do believe that Google has been my life saver throughout many occasions.
What about a song that doesn't focus so much on the past instances but on where you are going? Or something that makes a statement about love in general...just some ideas to help your google search.

I agree with every one else. the song has to be from your heart. When you hear it you will know.
CindySue, We are also using Bless the Broken Road. And for the same reasons. I will be 30 and he iwll be 28. We have been through alot and through past loves that has made us who we are and we now know what we want and the love that we want is what we have with each other.
I am dancing with my mom instead of my dad. My mom was a single mom and has always been there for me no matter what. My dad is in my life now but nothing like i would like it to be. I hear from him one month out of the year and that is December, for my birthday and then a couple of weeks later for Christmas. We are not close so my mom is giving me away and I am going to dance with her to ..."She's Somebody's Hero" is by Jamie O'Neal . I creid once I realized this was the song.
And I have been tryign to think of a song for my FH an dI to dance with my kids to. They are 4 and 6 and we are makign them a big part of this wedding. So I think i am going to go with " Your Gonne Be" by Reba. I will dance with my son and Niholas will dance with my daughter.
I hope you found one that fits you.
There are alot of songs that fit Nicholas and I but Bless THis Broken Road is perfect for us. And the first weekend we spent together we danced in the hotel room and this was the very first song we danced to.
Good luck on your search.

its so great that you're making your kids such a big part of your day! i know that they'll cherish the day forever! It's nice that you're so close to your mom, i wish that i could say the same... it's not like we aren't close, but we are sooo different we clash about everything! and have since i was able to speak... i'm a daddy's girl.... my dad and i are dancing to Time in a bottle - Jim Croce. Ever since i was little, when ever i had a bad day or my mom and i would fight, he'd put on this song, not saying a word, and we'd just dance....

Aww...what a sweet story! That's such a great song to use then!
My mother and I are best friends. I (not to gloat) am her good kid...the other two have criminal convictions. We'll be dancing to "Your Song" by Garth Brooks. He's my favorite artist and he wrote the song for his mother.
We still clash on some things though. I was going to vent on how much, but it got really long, so I'm gonna put it in stress, vents, and frustrations under my mother...
I didn't have a clue about what song I'd like except that I'd really like a duet. I was telling my work mate this and she mentioned a duet song she had on a soundtrack. The soundtrack turned out to be Hope Floats which just happened to be the first movie we watched together. It was like WOW what a coincidence. So I borrowed the CD and found the perfect song - Chances Are by Bob Segar and Martina McBride. Mum mentioned this song to the 2 person (1 male, 1 female) band we are having and they will be able to sing it for us so thats great.

For the first dance, all the songs that the girls all ready mentioned were the ones that popped into my head, "You're Still the One" "Bless the Broken Road" and "A Moment Like This". Add to that "Stick Wit You" by PussyCat Dolls and "We Belong Together" by MC. Those should get you started.
