This has probably been asked a milion times before, but typically how long before the wedding do you have the shower?

I wish I had an answer for you. But I would like to know the same thing.

It think it varies...and I don't think there is a set time you have to have it...but generally, I think you kind of try and keep it within a few months before the wedding. Mine was a little under 2 months before ours...we had ours August 5th and got married September 30th.

It's usually about two months before the wedding. Mine was in November and we're getting married in February. Mom and my sis scheduled it that way because of the holidays. I think guests were thankful that it wasn't in December.

I had 3 showers. My wedding was December 30 and my first shower was Nov 4th, then Nov. 11th, and Dec. 3.

I think it depends on your schedule too. Basically anything goes. I think my BP is doing mine about a month- a months and a half before the wedding. Mostly becuase shawn's sister who is also one of the bridesmaids is due to have her baby at the end of June. We are planning her baby shower at late april early may. She also lives 4 hours away so family will have to travel up here too. So we aren't left with much of a choice to go mid july or early august and the wedding is september 1st!!

I think I have read in most places 1 to 2 months before the wedding is a good time frame. My wedding is March 10 and my bridal shower is going to be on Feb 10.

I am having two showers, the one my roommates are throwing me I know is going to be March 31, and my wedding is May 12th. I think my parents are doing one at 'home' for me mid march time. April is just too busy for me with classes, and March just seems right

My shower is April 21, a little less than 2 months before the wedding. Someone told me that was too early.

It can obviously vary, but I've read that a good rule of thumb is 4-6 weeks prior.

I think it all varies among people honestly. Our wedding is September and the showers my friends and family have planned for me are at some point in the summer.
My friend had hwer wedding in August and her big shower was in June.
I think who's having it can also make the difference. IF Aunt Betty can only come in a certain weekend and she's the main person throwing it for you, you have it then. I think people just fin dit early 6 months before the wedding and if your having about 10 of them up till the wedding. As it is, my family are VERY big on throwing showers, and I don't know how many I'm gonna recieve from frinds and family!!! There are just far to many friends of the family.
