I know a little bit about what you mean. My workplace is very much into throwing you right into the fire. When i first started at my new position, I had no experience. I learned that if I think ahead and ask questions early, I can avoid the biggest problems. I try to ask alot of questions of people when they don't seem too busy. And I know a few sweeties who I can go to when there is an emergency - even if they are busy with there own projects, they usually can make time to at least explain something to me or take a few minutes to come over and help me fix something. My boss's office is far away from mine, so I only go over there to interrupt him if I have a few questions for him (unless it's an emergency).

Hope this helps.

I know how you feel. I was kind of thrown into mine but three years later I am okay. I'm just to a point where there is no room to go up now and I am getting very bored, frustrated, and just plain sick of my job..I'm holding out until after the wedding to start looking elsewhere!!!

I definitely know what you mean! I'm a customer service respresenative for a music publishing company, and believe me...I HATE MY JOB!
I'm also trying to stick-it-out until Joe starts in the laborer union and makes the bacon, then he says I can stay home with our angel :innocent:

Somedays I do, but I have to look at the big picture, the money is great, the bonuses are nice, the benefits are paid for in full, and I work about 29 hours but get paid for 40hrs every week and I get to eat when I want go to the mall if I need something, read a magazine and even sleep if I am not feeling well. A couple people at work take advantage of our workplace and that annoys me, one girl will sleep everyday for at least two hours and the rest of the time stuff her face or read a book all day, that urks me. I have great bosses, but patients can be a handful sometimes. Its not my fault people don't brush their teeth!!!!! LOL

I do know what you mean. I Love what I do, but I just started a new type of position, at a new school in a new city this year, and it's taking me a while to get into the groove so to speak. There are days when I really just want to curl into a ball and cry, I'm so upset with it. I'm just not a take-charge kind of person before I get to know the people I'm supposed to guide, so it's really hard for me to be put in a position of guiding people. I don't want to guide them with something they already know, kwim??? Oh, well.. it takes time, and eventually it all becomes normal and there are no problems. Good luck with yours, though!!!

I don't hate my job, but I don't love it either. I just started a new job at a bank and found out the joys of being the "newbie."
The other 2 tellers there have been there longer and find it necessary to do nothing and make the other new person and I do all the work. This particular branch is BUSY which means from about 12:30 until closing you move. They don't answer the phone and spend way too much time talking to certain customers then tell the other CSR and I that we need to multitask. Grrr!

I'm just biding my time until I can finish school next spring and get a better job *crossing fingers*

I'm also glad that I don't work past 5 most days and have most weekends off. Much better than what I did before this...retail. yuck!

I am just biding time and trying not to pull out my hair in the meantime.

I am an office manager by day .... which means that I do technical support, customer support, inside sales, distributor support, receptionist, shipping logistics specialist, invoice clerk, sales support and anything else that needs doing.

In the evenings and on weekends I am building my business so that I might quit the day job to do with I really love to do - paint!

I love my job, but hate my boss. So, because of that, I hate to go to work. I'm so unhappy there. I only have 5 years until retirement, but it's going to be a very long 5 years. :(

I'm not very fond of my job...Its not really what I want to do for the rest of my life....right now its just a really decent paycheck. I don't really like to drive to work, I'm bored with what I do when I'm there, and my boss always finds something that I did wrong...whether is big or small. And I hate how my current boss chooses favorites...she nit-picks something with one person and the next person she lets slide with everything....thank goodness at the end of this month she is no longer my boss!!! *jumping for joy*

I don't really like my new job, but it's temporary. I work in the men's department at Dillard's. I am just there until the beginning of the summer because I can teach when school starts again in the Fall. I just have to do something to get a paycheck (although small) and to not sit around and be lazy for 6 months.

I wouldn't say I hated it, but I certainly hate the hours. It's just not what I really want to be doing. My dad teases me saying I went to college just to work at Dillard's. What keeps me going is knowing it is temporary.
