The cold has made it to South East Texas. We are actually under a winter storm watch!!! Currently the conditions here are 39 F (4 C) and raining. The temps will continue to drop throughout the day. Tonight they say it should be 31 with freezing rain. Tomorrow the high 32 with a wintry mix. Pretty funny that yesterday it was 77 F!!!

We got somewhat of an ice storm last night. There is ice on all the trees and it looks pretty. Now it's just cold. We're supposed to get some snow flurries today and tomorrow, nothing major tho.

It has been a weird winter. Weather like this does not really happen here that much, but usually it is cooler than it has been lately.

Here too, it is very strange for us to not have any snow in January. Although for you, you guys probably don't get all the snow/ice we do here? My grandparents used to winter in TX and I remember only a few times them talking about it being that/this cold.
Weird how that works.

It is strange for us to have the possibility of any snow, but usually the highs in the winter are in the 50s. Most of the winter so far we've been in the 70s.

70's in the winter doesn't even seem right! We had mid 40's to 60 the last couple weeks. Now it's 20. No wonder everyone is sick.

The weather has been pretty crazy everywhere from what i understand.
Winter has just recently started here in Ontario. We got a good dumping of snow last week. (about 8 inches) It melted away then we got another huge dumping today (6 inches or so) I couldn't make it up the hill to get off our street this morning to go to the gym. :snide: I'm sure it will be gone in another couple days.

The same weather that Kacie is getting is moving over are area late tonight and tomorrow. I am thankful I am off work tuesdayand wed. as I am not one to drive in the mess. I only hope it waits till I am home from work at midnight tonight to start it. I really would love to have some snow and hybernate inside for a few days though. But please god no ice. We heat with electric only and would more than likely have no electricity at all if this were to happen.

I just saw on the news the system that moved in here last night is moving out of here and I guess to you guys and into Louisiana. There is another system behind it coming in late tonight for us. So it looks like you and I are going to have a few days of cold. So far there has been no ice here, but some of the northern counties have gotten some snow flurries and little ice. They are really forecasting the ice to start tonight and into tomorrow. There is so much water on the ground right now it would be a mess if it froze.

Oh it's the same here with the water. Our front and backyards are flooded. I can't see my driveway at all. It is already into the basement as well. And we live in town. The ground is so saturated with water it can't hold anymore. We might need to start looking (quickly) into alternative way to heat with this. next winter we are going to be way more prepared.

Another problem we have is the toilets will not flush well when there is this much water in the ground. Hopefully it will have some time to go down some before the rain starts up again this afternoon. And we don't have a paved driveway so it is muddy and everyone brings in mud and grass on their feet. It's a never ending battle to try to keep the floor clean.

Yeah our weather here is crazy too, but we live in Missouri, and as I'm sure everyone has heard...if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes and something new will come LOL!

Yeah I've heard things are bad there. Just now on the news they said they were sending MREs up there because of power outages

Toronto just got it's first hit of snow last night. We've had a light minimal dusting here and there but we just got the real snow and the freezing rain over night into this morning. A bunch of local schools are closed and because we're expecting the brunt of it later on today into tongiht the city has yet to salt much of anything.

They are talking about cancelling schools tomorrow perhaps. One university has already announced being closed tomorrow. Most everyone is off of school today because of MLK day. My work will be open tomorrow no matter what! :(

I watched the news before getting into the shower to go to work this afternoon. they are calling for the temps to be so low this afternoon and tonight that all will be freezing over, roads included. I called in and opted to stay home. This will count against me but I don't want to take a chance of wrecking. I have to cross over the floodways (which is about 10 bridges) to even make it out of our town. Then would have to cross about 10 overpasses. You know when i was younger this didn't bother me in the least. now that i am older (and wiser) it scares the **** out of me.

Well I hope you enjoy your evening. I wouldn't take the chance if I were you either. If it gets to bad tomorrow I will not go in either. It's not like this is going to be my career anyway. It's just a filler of time for me. Actually no job is worth risking your life over IMO. My drive is 45 minutes and over several bridges too. We'll see how things are in the morning before I make a decision.
