2 Missing Boys Found

This past Monday in Franklin County, MO a 13 yr old boy, Ben Ownby, was kidnapped after getting off the school bus. Another boy that got off the bus saw a truck and gave the info to the police. On Friday, some people at an apartment complex in Kirkwood thought the truck in the parking lot looked like the description from the kidnapping. Police were notified and the FBI searched the house. They found Ben, and they also found another boy, Shawn Hornbeck, who had been missing since Oct. 2002 when he was 11 years old!!

I just thought this was an amazing story. It made me cry to think that this family who had been missing their boy for 4 1/2 years finally get thier happy ending.

Yes i have been following this story. It happens to be just one state from me. I'm so happy they were able to find him and happen to find the other boy as well. You can tell by looking at the boys picture on tv that the other boy has been through alot. I hope they put that guy in jail and throw the key away. He is one disgusting man and doesn't deserve anything.

I heard about this! It's crazy, I can't imagine having your kid back after 4 1/2 years, it would be amazing, but at the same time, it would be so shocking

OMG! That is unbelievable! I haven't heard about this! How did they manage to hide the boy for 4.5 years? That must have been torture for him, was he tied up that whole time?

It's unclear about the details, but according to an article I read, a neighbor of the kidnapper saw the kid who was missing for 4 years out with the kidnapper building a tent and doing stuff like that. THe neighbor said he thought they were father and son. I just wonder what he did or how he convinced the boy that he could be out in public and not run. It's very scary.

We are probably an hour a way from where it all happened, so it has been dominating the television news. They said that the kidnapper told him that he would kill the boy if he tried to run away. I think it also said that he said he would kill the boys parents.
They also thought that he might have Stockholm Syndrome (where a captive actually starts to sympathize with the captor)

I still cant believe that even being out in public, he wouldnt try to warn someone of what was going on.

Oh i heard that on the news here! i think its brilliant! especially after 4 1/2 years! Although you wouldnt like to say or even think it, after that amount of time, somewhere in the back of your head, you would believe that your never going to see your son again and i find that amazing! im so happy for them both! Its about time we had a few more happier endings like this! to often its not!

Yeah I saw that with a friend at work on Friday night. It was just crazy. Thats awesome they found the one boy but absolutely unbelievable they found the other boy that had been missing for years, and unharmed.

It is wonderful that these boys were found. What a sicko.
I wish more of these kidnapping victims had a "happy ending" as well.

FYI, a local TV station was supposed to interview the Hornbeck family (the boy that had been missing for 4 1/2 yrs) and they couldnt b/c they were going to tape an Oprah show. It will be airing on Wed. if anyone is interested.
