Eep! Bridesmaids dresses and clipart.

Okay. Two quickie questions!

All of my bridesmaids live a good deal away from me (I have no friends at all in the area I live, as I just moved here!) and in addition to that, in different states (and even a country away) from each other. I've got one in Alabama, one in Tennesee, one in Mississippi and one in Canada! While we're planning on getting three of the girls (my MOH and the two in Mississippi and Tennesee) up here at some point (probably March, it's the soonest they can come), I have no real way to take them with me when I go dress shopping. That includes bridesmaid dresses. How can I handle the bridesmaid dress ordering and such?

Second, does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find wedding and/or cat themed clip art?

I had a similar problem. One of my BM's was in Calgary Alberta and the other was in Ottawa Ontario. What i did was find a dress i liked at a store that had locations in Calgary and Ottawa. I got the style number and colour number and called my BM's and told them what to ask for. I think i also sent a photo. They went and tried everything on and ordered it at their own store and brought it with them when they came out for the wedding.

Good advice JEn that is what I did with my sister that lives in VA. But she was up in Aug of 06 so we all went looking and then she is just going to order it where she lives.

About the clip art have you just tried to google free clip art and see what you come up with.

The store that carried the BM dress I wanted didn't have locations near the BMs and it was never possible to get them all together esp. for a long road trip. They all had their measurements taken by a seamstress and I went and placed the order, based on their measurements. They also all got their alterations locally (probably from the person that measured them).

This is what we did, since my BMs were spread out and unco-operative. THey each tried on the dress at different stores, tehn we got their measurements and ordered them ALL at the same store. You might want to remember that lot numbers will vary your colors and you will want to order all of the dressses from the same lot of fabric. So you could get them to try on dresses in their respective cities and get their measuremnets tehn call them down to you and you order them all at the same store. Then comes the problem of alterations, which means you will need to ship dresses. I was told that colors can very greatly from lot to lot. However if you don't care about that, you can do exactly what Jenn suggested. :D Good luck.

i had my bridesmaids get measured by a seamstress and ordered their sizes based on the size chart for the designer. i bought mine from an online bridesmaid dress store that saved them almost $70 each! mine came super fast, they were estimated to come in march and they arrived yesterday!

Thanks guys! Yes, I'll probably collect all their measurements and then order the dresses myself, mainly because my family has volunteered to cover most of the girls dresses since they're broke college kids =)
