I know you figured it out and this thread is a couple months old, but I thought I'd explain it for other users that might have the same problem.

This is called "Custom User Title" To change it you go to your User CP, on the left side you will see a link to "Edit Profile" Click that link and you will see a space to change the your member title. There is a character limit, but I forget what it is :)

Remember of course not to use anything vulgar and you can't say you are a Mod or the Admin if you are not ;)
