This weekend i am going with my bridesmaids to look at some dress options. I'm wondering how much the dresses you chose for your bridesmaids cost roughly just so i have an idea what seems to be the avaerage.

Thanks so much!

For our wedding this past summer our dresses cost us $200 for two of the girls and for the MOH $235. But I think dresses can run you anywheres from $45-$500 plus. I guess it just depends on the style you want and the dresses you buy! Have fun this weekend!!

My dresses were $150 each. The best advice I can give is to call and ask your beidesmaids how much money that they can afford spend, then go from there.

We are making our bridesmaids' dresses because I was worried about the cost and my fiance's sister has all three of her daughters in the wedding that we would have to worry about buying dresses for. The total cost of our dresses are going to be about 30-45 dollars. And we're going to make vests for the guys that match exactly! I'm excited...I think they're going to be really beautiful!

Good luck picking yours! The other problem I ran into was that I just could find a dress that I liked that came in the colors I wanted...and I wanted to have the same dress for the bms and jbms so the altering for the little ones would have put us through the floor in debt...:)

Thanks very much.
I think our budget is about $100 each, which isn't bad. I've been looking into the Sears catalog to see if there is a nice top that we can get a skirt to match, or possibly make a skirt to match. I have some Aunts who are handy with a sewing machine.

Our bridesmaid dresses are about $160 each. They're wearing their own silver shoes, and I'll be buying their jewelry.

We Found something!!!

We went to a couple bridal shops and looked at Sears and some other stores at the mall. We ended up finding a top that we all totally fell in love with. Unfortunetly it costs $135 for the top, and $130 for the skirt. So over a coffee break, we desided to look into possibly buying the top and making an 'A' line skirt to save some money. We found a pattern for a pattern for a top and skirt that matched the style we had chosen. It will cost us about $60 for the materials, we're looking into how much it will cost us to get a seamstrice to make them. Hopefully not to much.
Anyways, we're thinking of using an icey-blue fabric for the top with a black skirt both in satin.

Have a look, its the one on the left (white top, green bottem)

Excellent choice! The icey blue top with a black skirt will make a dramatic statement - very classy. Blessings allydawn0040

I was going to sudjest having them made! I'm giving my girls a choice: Find a dress that you like, in the specified fabric color and texture. If the time comes and we can't find for everyone, we'll get them made for whomever hasn't picked up a dress yet.

I think that is the best option for us. I have 4 VERY different girls in my Wedding Party.. So I can't really feel good putting all of them in the same dress.

That's a great idea!

I have the same problem. My bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids are all wearing the same dress and range from very skinny and very short...not so skinny and short...tall and skinny...and tall and not so skinny...ok basically any woman you could possibly think of...they'll be in my wedding. That's why I decided on something VERY simple and VERY basic. Well...that and we're going to make them and I've never sewn a thing! Well, with the exception of a pillow in the shape of an N that I made in girl scouts years ago...but I sewed my hand to that pillow...so...hopefully, these will come out successfully. I have help from my mother-in-law-to-be and sister-in-law-to-be (I am SO excited to be getting an older sister!).

I am really happy with doing this. I had so much stress and anxiety worrying about what we were going to do. Everyone is happy. I get to have the colours i want, and everything will be perfect! (i'm a bit of a control freak sometimes)
I am thinking i am going to buy all my bridesmaids necklases from Bitter Sweet as their gift. Somthing sparkely, but not to much. I absolutly love necklases, esp funky ones so i really think it will be a nice gift that is representive of me.

I love funky jewelry to...I really like the chandelier type earrings that are becoming really popular.

However, for my bridesmaids, we'll be tying ribbons around their necks for a necklace...I love the straight choker look and I have one bridesmaid who's really excited about it. Of course, that means that I have to come up with something for their gifts...so I'm putting together little boxes for each of them that reflect each of their likes. Inside they'll all have a bottle of lotion (it's stardust lotion, I want them to wear it in the wedding...I love that shimmery look!), candles, and some other stuff that matches the color theme of their particular box and what they like. I bought the boxes the other day...I'm even going to decorate the boxes differently for each of them. It gives me something to do while I'm worring about all the details I can't do anything about at this point...lol

Because all my girls are wearing a different color the dresses need to be the same style. So I found a pattern at Wal-Mart that is a very simply pattern that will fit any style girl.

One is not into dresses at all but has agreed to put one on for my wedding lol, one will have just had her baby a month before the wedding, and one is taller them me and one a bean pole, they are all different and the one thing i am doing to make it easier on all of them is they are all going barefoot. The wedding it outside in June. A couple of them mentioned the idea to me and I said go for it. I mentioned it to the other girls and only one wanted shoes so i told her do what ever she wants. The dresses are long so it wont matter. This is not a formal thing.

I gave them the pattern and a square of the material in the color i choice for them. I told them they can either have it made or find this dress in this color to buy it is up to you.

My jr. bride is my daughter and she is gonna be in a dress that will be kinda like mine. I have 2 flower girls and there dresses i am leaving up tp their moms. They dont have to match at all. I am sure it will all come together.

The guys i am thinking are going to be in black pants and a white button up shirt. With ties to match the girls dresses MAYBE . Am not sure on that yet. I do know the rose they will wear will match the girls.

Thanks! Suggestion...if you're going to do boxes and don't mind decorating over already decorated boxes, check out the stores right now. With Christmas coming, boxes are all over the place!
