Well, I decided that it was quite sad that I haven't started an after wedding journal yet.. And I figured, what better way then to start with some pictures.

My sister came to town for Christmas. I took her down to Temple Square to see all the lights. They do a gorgeous job. Every branch of every tree has lights.. here are a couple I took.

Beautiful! I am curious .... do you know how do the Morman's do Christmas? Would it be in a similar fashion to other's or do they celebrate at all? Sorry for going off topic.

Glad to see you started a journal!

You mean how they celebrate? Yes, it's the typical Christian way of celebrating.

Kind of an offbeat picture, but I love it.. This is Adam with our dog, Honna. She is such a sweetheart and loves her daddy.

Kolton couldn't hang very long on New Years Eve.. I think he was asleep by 9:30.. my daughter on the other hand was up till 3:30 with the rest of us.

Adam and I right after New Years.. He took this picture. He is always so proud at how well he does with those. He took one of us kissing at midnight, but he cut himself off. LOL.

Yes, she did get an amp.. No earplugs here.. Her Dad may need them though. (she lives with him). He got her some lessons for when she got home. Her grandpa also plays, so I can't wait to hear her progress.

SerendipityCrafts agrees: Thanks ... I was just curious as to whether Joseph Smith came into play in some way or fashion. I have only met one person who is Morman and at the time (high school), I didn't think to ask her any questions.

I know some. DH is a mormon.. well he doesn't attend church right now, but at one point was getting ready to serve a mission.. So he has taught me alot about the religion..

I have a few others from New Years.. debating on whether I should post them or not LOL.. Most don't have me in the though since I was operating the camera.

New Years was a blast. We went to a friends house with a bunch of our friends. We brought the kids with us and I was sure glad other people did the same. My daughter and another girl her age played dance, dance revolution all night.. They had a blast! My son passed out early, as he usually does. At midnight, we all went outside, set off some fireworks, and made lots of noise..
One of the local attorneys sponsers a cab company every year and will pay for your ride home.. So we definatly took advantage of that.

It is more difficult than you may think, to get it centered, well lit and not blurry. Christmas lights are very hard to photograph. The one with the dog to get him in the air and still have it clear and not blurry, is also a sign of good photography.

Well, we get to go ice fishing for the first time this season.. I am so freakin excited. We are going Sunday with a couple of our friends. Wish me luck on a huge fish!

I have started myself on a strict diet.. well, I ordered one of those excersize things off a stupid infomertial. Anyway, it came with a strict 6 day diet you should follow. No more than 1200 cals a day. And gave you meal plans and all. I have been following that closely and doing my workout everyday.. I tell you, it sure kicked my butt the first couple days, but am feeling better today. not quite as sore. I started the workouts Tuesday night and the workout Wednesday and I have already lost 2 pounds!! I know you are only supposed to weight yourself once a week, but I just couldn't help it this morning.

I hope you have a great time Ice Fishing on Sunday. Do you guys have alot of snow? I doubt the lake we live on will freeze this winter. It's not even below freezing yet. Kinda no fun for winter activities.
Anyways.... Good Luck getting a big fish.... Fishy Dust for you!

We actaully just got a big storm last night and got about 6 inches. the lake we go to is frozen already with about 6 inches of ice. Typically, in the winter, we go every weekend. Last year I got the WORST sunburn. My face was all swollen and stuff.. Typically, we sit in the ice shanty, but it got to hot so we opened it up. I didn't even think about the sun.. I know better this year though!

Another 2 pounds! Yea!!

We had a great time ice fishing yesterday. It was pretty windy though, which made it kindof icky. There were 4 of us that went and our ice shanty only holds 2, so the girls and the guys would trade off and on to sit in shelter. LOL
It was pretty slow. I only caught one, so I am a little disappointed. Better luck next time!

Lol...I don't mind fish....as long as it's not too fishy? KWIM? SOmetimes when we used to eat fish that we caught it just tasted too fishy. Our fave way to eat it was when we were camping to coat it in some thin kind of batter and fry it in butter!! YUMMMMM!!!

There really isn't any fish I don't like. Just some more than others. I really like trout, which is what we catch in the winter.

I would love to try Hawaiian food. I just love food that is really authentic. When we were in Jamaica, the most of the food was americaized. I was kinda bummed.

So I can imagine how cold it is out there on that lake up the mountain! I sure hope he brings home a good fish for me to grill up for dinner though... Yeah, I love to go, but if I get too cold, I am miserable.. I try to layer up the best I can, but if it's windy, you don't have a chance.
Adam just got back. The poor guys had a hell of a time. The blazer got a flat and they had to change it. Then the truck wouldn't start and they had to wait for someone to come and jump it. Then after they were up there they got stuck and had to be pulled out. Real glad I didn't go now!

No. I don't think the Great Salt Lake will freeze over. Too much salt. We go to Strawberry Res. It is just outside of Vernal up Parley Canyon. I am sure you sister knows where it's at.. It's pretty big and usually has pretty good fishing.

Yeah, the Blazer got stuck. We have a vaccum leak (we think) and the 4-wheel drive isn't working.. I guess while they were down fishing, the plows came and left a good bit of snow at the entrance to the lot we park at.
Oh, I can't imagine falling through the ice!! That would be sooo cold! It's at least 8 inches thick right now, so hardly any chances of that. The first time we went, the ice was heaving (basically it's just shifting and getting comfortable) but it makes a heck of a noise.. Like lightning crashing.. I didn't care for that a whole lot.

Oh, I can't imagine falling through the ice!! That would be sooo cold!
When I was about 7, we were playing in the snow in a field about a block from our house. There was some standing water that was covered with some ice and snow and I stepped on it and my leg fell through only to my shin, but it was the most pain I think I have ever been through. I could barely walk and my sister and a friend ended up pulling me home in our sled. I was so scared I had frost bite, but I got in a lukewarm tub and I ended up being okay. Mom wasn't home at the time and our grandma (who came over to watch us) didn't drive and grandpa wasn't there, so luckily I was okay and didn't have to tell anyone. LOL

I could not imagine the pain of falling completely under! I am glad Adam made it back okay.

You are lucky with that one! How deep was the water?

I could not imagine the pain either.. I have always thought that if you did fall through and no one was around, you would have a very hard time making it out.. It would just be too cold to function. I always try not to think about things like that when I go and I absolutely WILL NOT go out unless the ice is at least 6 inches.. I have heard that 3" is safe, but not enough for me!

The water was only about 6 inches deep, so it only went up to my calf. But it is a paralyzingly painful experience. I don't know how one would get out if it was their whole body.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I am pretty excited! Adam and I both have pretty poor credit.. Guess that's what we get for being stupid young people... Anyway, last year we had looked into buying a house and talked to a few people and they all pretty much laughed at us..
So last week, Adam told me about an ad he had seen and asked me to send in our info. So, I did. A lender called me that night and got all the info from me. I told him right up front our credit was shot and that we don't have a down payment. He said he would get back to me. So, he called the following day and told me that our scores had both gone up 100 points! Now, mind you, they still aren't great, but they are workable. The guy said he is going to review things a little bit more and he also has to talk to his PLN (I guess there is a new law that states if you haven't had your license for 3 years, you kind of have to have your loans approved before you can give them)
So, I am pretty freakin excited that we might be able to get a house!!!!

We are thinking around the $200K mark.. We want about 4-5 bedrooms. One for us, one for each kid, one for the baby, and one for a spare/office. I have been looking already, of course.. I am just hoping that if we are approved, the interest doesn't stop us from being able to do it.. That is the part that worries me.

Thanks! It's hard not to get too excited over it. This is something I want soo bad. Adam always tells me I get too excited and always get such a big let down because of it.. But, I can't help it!!

It is exciting and I hope it works out for you! You can still be happy no matter what b/c even if you don't qualify for decent interest rates, if you were able to improve your credit score by 200 points since the last time you looked into it, then I would think if you had to wait another year or so, your credit will have improved that much more.

That's pretty exciting about the house. Hope everything works out for you guys. I can totally sympathize about the credit situation, we're in the same boat! He's got way too much credit and mine is shot. We're a lenders nightmare! lol
We're waiting til 2008 for the house in order to get more debt paid off and more time for me to get my score up with the past negatives dropping off.

Best of luck to you!

Well, I just did my 2 week mark measurements.. I have lost 5 pounds and a total of 5 3/4". I am pretty happy with it.. I would be happier with a couple more pounds, but I slightly blame that on AF. LOL. If I can keep the motivation going, I'll do pretty well, I think.

Well, Adam is out of work for a couple weeks. He fell off his ladder on Wednesday and tore his miniscus. He also wrenched his back and is having a hard time getting around. He went to the WorkMed doctor that day and they told him his knee was messed up but released him back to work. The stupid thing is they put all kinds of restrictions on him that won't allow him to do his job. So basically, they released him so his work won't have to pay worker's comp. So, we went to the ortho surgeon yesterday(one that isn't a workers comp Dr.) and he wants to do an MRI. So once worker's comp approves that we have to go down and get it done. It will take 2-3 weeks to get the results and Adam can't go back until we do.

That sucks Holly!! I hope Adam will be feeling somewhat better soon. With back injuries, it can be hard to get back to feeling one hundred percent quickly, eh. Lots of TLC!! :D That always does a person good! :D

That is terrible! I wish him a speedy recovery. Is there no way around the worker's comp. loophole? That sounds like a whole lot of wrong. Why couldn't your regular ins. pay for the MRI and then collect the money from the company? Waiting 3 weeks is ridiculous, you need to know if there is something wrong so it can be treated.

Well, the first problem w/ WC was the first Dr. that released him back to work. So that's why we went to the other Dr that wasn't a workers comp Dr. and got a no work order. So the new Dr. wants to do an MRI and they can't do it until WC approves it. If they don't, then I will have Adam do one on our insurance. I would rather pay for it now then much more damage done in the future. The three weeks is how long is will take to get the MRI done and the results back. Since it is ordered for him not to work, he will get paid WC while he is off work.

Holly, I'm so sorry to hear about Adam's injury. THat's really terrible that the Dr. released him without taking the best care just so his work wouldn't have to pay worker's comp. It's just one of those things that irks me about the irresponsibility of some docotors who are only in it for what they can get out of it and not for the care of people. I hope that he is okay, and that the w/c will pay for his MRI and that he'll be feeling better soon!

Thanks, Maria. I am really hoping this doesn't turn out to be really serious. My dad tore the same muscle in his knee last summer and had to have surgery on it.
He is doing allright this morning. He is pretty sore still though. He can't walk well and has to have help to get off the couch. The second Dr he went to put him on some type of a steroid for his back. The Dr did an xray on his back and said it looked OK, but that his spine is straight, which shows that there is some tension on it (the spine is supposed to have a natural curve to it). The steroids are supposed to help with the muscles, I think. Adam said they seem to be helping.
