I have a few ideas for centerpieces and I think I might even do different things at each table. I already have most the things I need but I'm having a terrible time finding square pillar candles. I need some in 4 different heights. Does anyone know where I can find some?

I guess it would depend on the colors, but Wal Mart around here has the square candles in all different sizes. What about the candle section of a craft store?

I'd like some more suggestions for centerpieces...here are my own ideas:
-mirrored tile with 3 or 4 different styles of champagne glasses, wine glasses, etc on the tile with candles in them.
-4 square pillar candles different sizes together in a square tied with ribbon
-I've bought jeweled candle holders in the burnt orange(which is one of my colors) with an ivory candle inside
-I also have fish bowls I'd like to put the water gems in with a floating votive
-I want to use different centerpieces at all the tables, mixing and matching
-One of my colors for sure is burnt orange but the wedding is in the spring so I thought lilac would be complimentary and I also like sage or olive grren...but would the green and orange be to fallish?
-I'm not doing flowers as centerpieces to save money on flowers.
Any ideas/suggestions?????

I don't have any suggestions...yours sound very pretty!
My tables are going to be very long banquet style tables. So we're going to have wine glasses down each table (13 because we're getting married on the thirteenth). The glasses will have a little bit of white sand and votive candles in them and there will be flower petals all over on the tables.
I love your idea...did you find your square candles?

not yet...I'm still on a mad search!!! I can only find 2 different sizes. Do you think if I bought 3 of the taller ones but cut 2 of them down to a different size that it would work?

Sarah, I was at the craft store yesterday and they have microwaveable wax AND square candle makers so you could make them whatever height you want. I know that it would take some time...but I think it would be easier than cutting them.
I'm looking for a brick candle for the head table...so I'm right there with you. I remember a few years ago, brick candles were all over the place! Now (when I need one) I only find a few, most of which are the wrong colors and the ones that aren't are $80! It's driving me crazy...I'm thinking of doing something different for the head table, but I'm not sure what yet. I don't want anything that's going to cut off the view of the people at the head table...

No...not wine...just wine glasses...ie stem ware. I'm trying to decide between white sand or little bits of worn glass (the stuff they sell at craft stores). I'm leaning more to the worn bits of glass, but it's a bit more expensive.

Oh, nevermind! I saw 'white sand' and the 'w' registered as wine. It would look very pretty, just very risky!!

I found this site. I don't know if these are good prices though:

Maybe you can find some on clearance after the holidays.

They're definitely not bad prices, but there's a hundred dollar minimum. I can't remember if I saw square candles there...but I saw some really beautiful candles at Pier 1. Of course, you're going to be paying for the Pier 1 name there...

I've thought of another centerpiece Idea. Small picture frames like 4x6 with love quotes in them. On patterned paper. I guess with all these ideas the hardest part is figuring out how to display all of them without it looking tacky!! I still can't find the candles reasonably priced.

Did you look into making them? The stuff I saw at the craft store wasn't too expensive and it could be fun! I've heard of all sorts of get togethers with bms and mothers that involved making candles or soaps or chocolates or whatever...just a suggestion.
The quote thing sounds cute. I'm not so sure about it as a centerpiece, but hey, it's your wedding not mine...I'm sure you're not so sure about fried chicken (neither am I really, but my fiance really wants it and it's the one thing he's actually asked for).

Im using candles as my centerpieces too, only Im just trying to find a look I like. Im leaning towards the large wine glasses with floating candles. With my reception being at night (around 9 or so) candles are perfect for me.

I'm doing wine glasses with candles, although we've decided on sand and votives because I'm not sure how long the floaters will last...

Now I'm not sure about using thme as centerpieces...will that be dumb? I just want to keep things inexpensive and I'm not sure I have enough stuff and I'm freaking out a little.

How many things do I do at each table...they are long rectangles. I hate this part of planning.

ok...what if I get different sizes of frames... and do groupings like that. Since I will have groupings of varying wine/champagne glasses and varying sizes of candles?

The reason I wouldn't do it, is because frames are one-sided, which means you have to put more on the table. You could always do the quotes on some really beautiful paper and laminate them (cheap way is to cover in contact paper). Then put a few candles down the length of the table and litter in between with quotes...With long tables, you probably want something that runs along the table...and how many you use really depends on how long your tables are.

That's a good idea. This plannig stuff is really hard sometimes. I haven't gotten any good suggestions from family/friends. this is the first wedding in both our families so the moms aren't the biggest help. This website helps a lot!

What if you used the love quotes as table names? I think that would be cool. I love this look for long tables:

Just a whole bunch of different sized candle running the whole length of the table or maybe two sections on either end of the table and a break with one big candle in the middle. Or something like that. A flower arrangement would be pretty in the center too.
I like this too. I love how just putting colored water with a floating candle will add color to the room. Good way to use your theme color if your not having flowers:

I never thought of colored water with the candle! We're gonna get some floaters and check out how long they burn so that we know if we can do floaters. I'll let y'all know when we finish. :)

If the floaters don't last as long as you need but you really want them maybe you could get someone in you bridal party to change out the candles with new ones before the old ones completely melt. I have heard of some people doing this.

These are cool too. They come in all sorts of colors. Not too expensive(about the same as some candles) and reusable:

I think it was you too looking at your pics. i love the look, i just need things on a very smaller scale. i wont be having tents but i have a HUGE front yard on which i a can attempt to create this. I will be able to get a LOT of the white lights when they go on sale right after Christmas.
