Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew of makeup that would cover a tatoo? The girls at DB told me dermablend, but I know for a fact that dermablend makeup will rub off on my dress(my sister used to have to use it everyday) any other suggestions?

Sorry I have no clue.

I'm just wondering if you are the one covering up a tatt or if it's someone in your bridal party. I didn't cover up my tatt because it's a part of me and always will be so I didn't think it was worth it. I wonder if you googled it what would come up there! I'll check it out!! :D

Here is a few sites I found:

http://www.tattoocamo.com/

http://www.colortration.com/

http://stageandtheatermakeup.com/tattooList.htm

You'll have to read through them of course and see what might work best for you! Good luck!

I have heard of people coving tattoos with makeup, but I don't know what kind works.

Here are a couple of products I found on a quick search - Tattoo Camo (http://www.tattoocamo.com/) and Cover Mark (http://www.covermarkusa.com/).

I wouldn't cover my tattoos or ask anyone else to cover their's but that is just me. But I love tattoos and don't give a darn what anyone else says about me ;)

ETA - I can see where some people would want to cover them though. Good luck!

The tattoo is mine, I have a heart with a rose that goes across my left breast, I got it when I was 19 and I hate it, when I bought my dress the girl insisted it would not show, but then when I was there the other day wicked witch of the west told me the dress sits lower than I thought it would so it will show. It is only about 2 inches long if that, but I dont want it to show at all in my pictures or wedding. :(

I would definately try out the Tattoo camo!! Hopefully that will work for you.

I did get some for myself.. I have one on my left shoulder blade. It said it wouldn't rub off on my dress. It did.. and the cover up wasn't the best.. Good thing my hair was half down.

Sorry it took me so long.. I found what I used. It was dermablend.. Like I said, it did rub off on my dress, and I didn't find it to do the best covering. NOw maybe, I just wasn't used to how it should be used. Best of luck finding something that works for you. I would suggest going to a dept store and talking to one of the gals behind the counter... better yet, go to a tattoo parlor and ask them.. I bet they would have something and could help you determine what would work best.

Yep thats what they told me to use too and insisted it would not rub off. I know it will my sister had a birthmark on her face and she used that stuff everyday it took hours to put it on correctly and it does wear off and smudge. Thanks for trying to help though!!! Maybe I will ask a tattoo parlor what they think I wish I never got it.

The only suggestion I can offer is theatrical (pancake) make-up. If it is powdered down properly it has less of a tendency to rub off, but still will do so in many situations. It is, however, formulated to wear under hot lights (stressful situations, and weddings are stressful, though happily so!)

Whatever you use, have the dress cleaned as soon after the ceremony as possible. Fresh is easier to clean, and the longer it sits, the more it "sets".

I need to find some, too. I have a tattoo on my shoulder that I love, but it just doesn't seem appropriate to me for my wedding. I think I'll ask a tattoo shop, too. That's a good idea.

I have one on my leg I wished I would have never gotten!! I have seen some adds in magazines about tattoo cover up make-up. Maybe you should check that out. I think it is kind of expensive though.

I can tell that you're really concerned about this! I'll ask my FH when I talk to him later on. He may know something. Good luck!

All tattoo make-up will rub off on your dress. I have a tattoo on my upper chest and it showed for my sister's wedding. I bought tattoo make-up (at a costume shop) and followed the directions. Lots of layers. It worked really well. If anybody noticed, they thought I had a bruise. In fact, the lech of the photographer came over to me and stared at my chest for about 5 minutes. saying that he didn't know I even had a tattoo (somebody had told him). It didn't show in any of the pics. My mom dry cleaned the dress, so I don't know if the make-up came out or not. However, for purposes of the wedding, it worked great. When I get home I'll look and see if I can find the make-up.

I have a tattoo, but I'm not planning on covering it up. But I have a friend who used this product in her wedding and it hid the tattoo and didn't rub off.
