Alright, I'm making my own invitations and I wanted to include the response cards as a pre stamped post card. Is it even possible to make your own postcard or do you have to fet some from the post office...Call me blond but this is the first time I'm getting married (hopefully the last) and I'm not sure how this all works.
Also I'd love some ideas on inexpensive but unique centerpiece ideas. I have a few ideas but a few more would help. My colors are burnt orange and either an olive or sage green or a shade of purple. Thanks!!!!!!!!! :D [/b][/quote]

On my computer program, I see a place where I can create my own post cards and they sale post card paper at the stores, sooooo i would think so, but I understand why you would wonder. They do seem like they would be something that would have to be approved by the USPS. Personally I havent even thought about it before now.
Im just glad my wedding is small enough that I can get my RSVPs by word of mouth. Or through the our website.
Your colors sound very pretty. All 3 of them fit together perfectly. When are you getting married? I liked the burnt orange, but to me it seemed to dark for a spring wedding.....Im getting married in May 2006.

I'm getting married in May as well...the 13th. The orange seemed too dark for me at first too but I love it and paired with the right color and having the perfect flowers it should be alright... I hope!!!

Yes, you can print them from your computer. As long as they are postcard size and weight, USPS won't care. We make our own for my office all the time. Good Luck!

I'm making my own invitations and everything myself as well.
Just make sure you use a stock that is heavy enough that it won't be destroyed in the mail.
For mine i am using a 110lb cardstock that i got at Staples for the invites, RSVP cards, and the maps i'm sending. That seems to be a bit heavier then the subscription cards you find in magaziens.
I did find at the Staples store they have lots of envelopes for the large inviations and the small ones as well (if you still need those). The prices where really reasonable $12.89 for 100 half folds and $21.46 for 250 Quarter folds.
Good Luck!

My date is the 13th as well, and there is one other girl in here too that will be getting married on the same day.
Do you have any pics of the things you are doing with the orange? What I have seen have been really more for fall. I just may not be looking in the right places.
Thanks?
Oh why did you choose the 13th? Any reason in particular? We chose it because of the full moon. We had wanted to have a moonlit wedding but we have moved it up a little so its going to more like a sunset wedding and a moonlit reception.

Sorry, I just browsed so someone else may have said this already but...
Yes it is possible to make your own postcards. The only problem you will have is ensuring that it is heavy enough to get through the mail. That's what happened to me when I sent out moving notices that were handmade postcards. If you check with your post office to ensure that they're heavy enough, you shouldn't have any problem.
For everyone...make sure if you make anything that it is sendable. There are minimum sizes and weights to items that you send. Just a helpful suggestion. It goes the other way as well...check to make sure how much postage your entire invitation package is going to need before sending it out.
