View Full Version : Bridal Shows
I'd be curious to learn what it is that brides are looking for when they come to bridal shows. We vendors want to give the brides/grooms what they want!
* Are brides trying to get a sense of who offers what in their city, or are they looking to make decisions on who to hire, right then and there?
* Do brides pick up information from each vendor, or just the ones they feel a connection with?
* Do brides want lots of information from each vendor to take home (brochures, flyers, price sheets) or do they just want a business card?
* Do brides want to chat with the vendors, or just browse in peace?
If you have any other questions and/or answers, let's share them!

I'm going to attend a bridal show in January, and what I'm looking for that day is everything! i'm looking to find good deals, a location, everything that is needed for a wedding I'm hopping to find everything I need that day. I wan't vendors to provide me with as much information as they can as long as I ask for it. I don't want them to puch information on to me.
I hope I was able to answer some of your questions.

I'm looking for offers and ideas but I will NOT hire someone from a bridal show. Price sheets from vendors are big deal as are brochures and flyers. A business card is not enough.
Just a suggestion but don't jump on a bride as soon as you see her. When she wants to talk to you she will come to you. The same goes with stores in places like the mall. If your display is good then she will want to talk to you. If you have pretty much nothing, then she will walk right on by.

Hi RJS,
I usually have my price sheets, business cards & plenty samples of my work ~ most brides are just trying to gather as much information as they can to comparison shop. It's not unusual to have a bride want to sit down & discuss their photography needs with you while they are there ~ especially if they are from out of town. It's a good idea to have some contracts on hand just in case.
Hope that helps,
Robin

I am attending several bridal shows this month to make contacts. My budget doesn't allow me to participate in the shows but I can make a lot of contacts with the vendors and find out the latest trends for my area. I get to find out what the brides like and you can quickly see who has quality stuff and who doesn't.
