Ok, I finally gave in and pulled the BEAUTIFUL ring my FH gave me off my finger to have it officially resized. I've gone through two ring guards since December. Well, we took it to Kay's last Saturday to have it sized and I won't get it back until next Saturday, but I want it back now! It's such a beautiful ring and it means so much more. I miss it. :(

Aww, I know what you mean. The same thing happened with me. I wore it for about a month before I decided I better have it sized and it took about 4 days. I thought I was going to go crazy without it!

Well I got lucky....my ring fit perfectly. NOW......I will have to give it up before the wedding to have it polished so it doesnt look all scuffed up compared to the band. Im considering going ahead and having them sautered together, so I may be with out my ring for a few days longer than i will like.

I missed my rings this morning too....I thought I had lost them!! I took them off to have a shower and couldn't find them afterwards....I looked high and low and couldn't find them. I was starting to get into a panic thinking that maybe I had knocked them down the drain of the sink....then I moved my eyeshadow and low and behold there they were. I sighed with relief and vowed to buy a ring holder! Lol.

I know how naked you must feel...its such a weird feeling without those rings. I know you probably find yourself checking for them and then almost freaking out thinking that they have been lost and then you remember...."oh yeah its being sized!" Do you have a promise ring or something that you can wear to get you through these difficult times?? Lol.

If I take mine off to do something nasty, like messing with hamburger meat, or scrubbing really greasy dishes, I have to make it a point to give it to my FH to hold. If I just lay it down and he sees it, he tries to hide it from me without me seeing it just so I will panic trying to look for it.
Ive gotten to where when i do have to take it off, i put it in my little jar of jewelry cleaner to soak.
When i do have mine off, Im constantly rubbing on my finger where it was because although i have only had it a month, im used to it being there and it bugs me. Im hoping I wont have to be with out mine for long before the wedding. I dont know how i would handle it being gone for a WHOLE week!

Ok, I'm ready for the criticism, I never really wear my engagment ring. I put it on when I leave for work in the morning. Then when I come home and change I usually take it off and leave it off. But in my defense that is usually the time that I am doing things like making dinner and cleaning the house and such. I can't wear it to sleep in because my hands get puffy then it ets tight and I have to wake up in the middle of the night and wrestle it off. Sean has never seemed to complain though. He knows that I love it but I just can't stand to have it on all the time.

Im sure Brian would have a fit if I took mine off any more than I absolutely have to. There are time when I really would rather leave it off, but I think it hurts his feelings so I leave it on.

Sean has never really said anything to me about it. Maybe that is because after I got it I explained to him how to properly take care of it. I used to sell jewelery so he just will take my word for it. I do clean it and my diamond earrings once a week. It is amazing to see how dirty the earrings that I never take out are compared to the diamond that I never wear all the time or shower with.

Since I don't wear it all the time to show it off I guess I should at least put a picture of it up to sooth his male ego if he ever runs across this page.

Thanks! You never get tired of hearing your ring is pretty, do you? Anyway it took me forever to figure out how to use the macro feature on my camera so that I can take close up pictures of little things. Low and behold I just had to hit and hold down a button for 10 seconds.

That is so funny Lacey! I do the same thing. Danny never says anything to me about it either. I absolutely can not wear it when I am sleeping. It drives me nuts. The first thing that goes when I get home is my watch, ring and socks!! I hate wearing socks!!

Suggestion so that you don't loose your ring when it has to come off for whatever reason:

We have a shelf right above our sink in our kitchen and on that shelf is a little orange pot my mother found at a craft show and thought of me. She bought it for me and it's soul reason for existence is to hold my engagement ring and his promise ring when they have to come off for showers, handling hamburger meat, washing dishes, etc. It's really helpful and we always know where our rings are and don't have to worry about if it got knocked into the sink or down the drain.

I'd take a picture of mine, but I don't have a digital camera. I'll try with the camera that I have some film on and see if I can scan it in...but it might be awhile. I love my ring though...it was my fiance's great-grandmother's ring.

Just to bring this string up to date and to give you all a good laugh, I went in this last Saturday to pick up my ring and I figured I'd just cut through JCPenney's which is just across the hall from Kay's. Well, Santa Claus was being escorted in at the time I chose to go get my ring and I was blocked from getting across the hall by the High School marching band and Santa Claus with his whole entourage of christmas friends. Now, normally, I love Christmas and this type of thing but SANTA WAS GETTING INBETWEEN ME AND MY RING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so insane by the time the parade got past and I walk into the store and ask for my ring and they couldn't find it right away. It took a half an hour and pulling out all of the jewelry they had in their repair drawer for them to find it pushed into a back corner in the very bottom. Oh I was loosing it! But now I have it and it fits and it's officially mine! I'm so happy!

That's right! All of the happy Christmas things need to burn! Mwahahahahaha!

Ok, not really that psychotic...and I love Christmas...which just makes the whole irritation even more ironic.

Good grief.....around hear Santa doesnt come out until after Thanksgiving.
As for sleeping with your engagement ring, I have to. I have had dreams a couple of times about losing it, and Ill wake up, feel it on my finger and go back to sleep.
