Hi,
So ive been engaged for a few months and our wedding is about a year away (dec 29, 2007) and im looking for ideas. I want to have a very wintery wedding with blue, silver and white. I want to avoid the christmas look like red and green together although I do like greenery lol. Any ideas that anyone can offer would be wonderful:).

did you see that winter wedding on friends the sitcom? i think it was phoebe who got married. It was simple but it looked beautiful. Twinkle lights made all the difference.

Hi! I am having a winter wonderland themed wedding in about 12 days!!!! I am using red and silver and white. When I first started out I was planning on using the ice blue, but I just feel in love with Apple Red at David's Bridal.

I bought several items from this website: http://www.balloons-galore.net/cat_winter.cfm . They are reasonably priced and they even have the ice blue color you are looking for.

Here are a few highlights from my journal that Melissa linked.

You can get these in all different colors.

These are really easy to make. Mine almost look exactly like these. All you do is find tree branches that are dead. We spray painted them white and also added glitter paint. The glitter is really subtle. Then we added lights and we used terracota pots and painted them white. It is really cheap and really elegant.

That sound nice!! Ooor see your doing it now!! lol Maybe i could find a nice long sleeve dress!! Or make sure the place is heated!! lol (I have a feeling, if i get the castle i want, Thats not going to happen! LOL) Its just special date versus beautiful timing??? And then theres xmas?? I think Kacie has a good idea doing it just after xmas, but then again, that would work holding your wedding just before xmas! Always having something to look forward too!!???? Might speak to Joe about it tomorrow, its to late now i'll be going bed soon!! lol

I opted to wait until after christmas so people wouldnt be stressed worrying about both at the same time

Hi and Welcome!!!!!! I think a winter wedding is STUNNING!!!!!!!!! Kacie's ideas have been so beautiful and you could get so much inspiration from hers.
From what I have seen there are also a ton of DIY stuff that would suit winter weddings wonderfully.
The trees are also stunning that you showed in the picture.
I look forward to seeing some more of your ideas come to life and again welcome, you'll really like it here!

OK so I thought I had my centerpieces all figured out. Apparently not, I was looking at Candle lanterns that i could buy whole sale. I wanted to put a few on each table ( they are long banquet tables) and I wanted to put flowers and other things around them. I thought it had a nice wintery feel to it. Nice glow. Well I showed it to my mother, who is helping pay for alot, & she thinks the lanterns are too small. So I'm either looking for better lanterns, or just better centerpiece ideas in general. Any ideas?

2 lantern sets for sale I found
This one is from ebay $60 for 20 4 3/4 in tall

this one is from india overseas trade wholesale co. in california
3 in. and $2 a piece or 180 for a case of 120 lanterns

http://www.byrequestinvitations.com/images/Products/3KA48736_352lr.jpg I love the snowflake theme. Originally, I wanted to get married around Nov or in Jan, so I could use the snowflake theme. We ended up going with another theme, and setting our date for March.

I remember a few years ago someone getting married during the St Paul Winter Carnival, in front of the Ice Palace. Groom was in white tux, bride had on a white fur coat, maids where in these baby blue gowns. The bouqets where carved ice. Was a big headline in the paper.
