Well, we finally got to go Christmas shopping for the kids this weekend. I had fun too. Our nieghbors too all four kids to a movie so that we could go.

We also finished our tree last night. It has been unfinished for a week because I wanted to wait until the kids were over so they could all do it together. It's not the best pic, but it was done w a phone, so I can't expect much, can I?

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i104/pruetthd/tree.jpg

Here is a pic of the navitity scene that we have in the living room. We have garland that looks like pine going around it w lights thru it, so it is acutally pretty when lit up.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i104/pruetthd/natscene.jpg

I have pics of J and the kids decorating, but will have to email them from his phone tonight.

I think that Santa may also be coming over to see the kids tonight too, so I will get pics of that as well.

We usually have handmade stockings out at Christmas. Last year, I works so hard on them for Josh and the kids. It took so long that I couldn't get J's finished. Well, the dog chewed up the bottom of two of them, and w the weddings, I haven't had time to fix them, but I did get J's finished. I should post pics of them.

Anyway, I think that this year, Santa will be leaving Christmas baskets (yes, like the Easter Bunny, they are good friends you know:) ). I think the kids will like that.

From what I can see the tree and decorations look great, the pics are a tad small though. The tree is very bright, I love lots of lights. Christmas trees are very difficult to photograph well enough to do them justice.

Yeah, it's hard to get the phone (or my hand) still enough, but I think there may be a better one on the phone.

I love bright trees. They just totally do it for me. I really do love Christmas, not just the religious end, but the family, and good feelings part as well. It is def my fav season.

This morn, Peyton, our oldest was reading a christmas book to the rest of the kids. It was pretty neat.

So, Santa came by last night to visit the kids. The oldest thought he recognized the voice, but couldn't place it, thankfully. It was cute. Josh gets to be Santa for thier family later this week. I can't wait to see how that turns out. Our Santa was short and skinny (cause he hasn't eaten the Christmas Eve cookies yet) and thier Santa will tall and not so skinny. heehee

It is still on the wall. It's hidden behind a plant, thank goodness. I think it's karma, because when I was young, I used to trap daddy long legs, pin them down w a stick and pull off thier leggs just to watch them twitch. I know, not nice. Now, it's bitting back at me!!!

NicksBride
12-20-2006, 02:06 PM

I am terrible w bugs. One night, before J and I moved in together, we were on the phone, and a cricket came bouncing across the floor. I was throwing shoes at it trying to kill it. He was laughing so hard. He lived 1.5 hrs away from he, so he couldn't come over and kill it for me.:(

Well, w the exception of a wallet for Josh that will be from the kids, I think I am done Christmas shopping. We aren't overboard since the wedding was just a month and a half ago, but we will have plenty under the tree for the kids to open. That makes me feel so much better.

I bought the stocking--oops, I mean basket stuffers and bought some holly leaves and berries to put on them. I think they will turn out cute. I think I am going to work on them tonight when Nico goes to bed. For the boys I bought hotwheels and for the girls, hair accessories and thier own brushes. They love hair accessories. In our family, we don't do large or pricey stuffers. That is what presents are. Stockings are (in our family) for little fun things that you wouldn't ordinarily wrap.I can't wait to get them done.

I am not feeling so hot, and I miss my husband. Love saying that!! The hubby part, not the not feeling well part!!:snide:

I want to spend the evening just cuddling. But, he has to play santa for another friend tonight, so he will be gone for a bit. Then tomorrow, I have class, and he has to work. And Friday night, and Saturday night. It doesn't seem like we have an evening together anymore.

I am going to go home, put on something comfy and curl up on the couch w my son, and then my hubby!!

Have a good evening girls.

Thanks ladies. I am feeling much better today. Acutally, after I ate a bit last night I felt better. I didn't get to cuddle w Josh much last night. He played santa at a few houses, and them was tired and passed out on the recliner. The bum!! I did get to cuddle w Nico for a while, so that was nice. I love cuddling w my little man. And tonight I have class, and J has to work, so I won't get to cuddle w him tonight either:( !! I did get a bit crouchy w Josh last night, and he was alittle peeved at me. Oops.

I did get some wrapping done last night, finally, and plan on finishing the baskets tonight. Man, I better really make them cute, as much as I have been talking them up, huh???

My mom thought it was a goofy idea at first, since our fam uses handmade stockings, but since I didn't have time to fix the ones the dog chewed up, I thought it would be the next best thing. I, personally, can't stand the ones in the stores. Everyone has them.

Thanks for all of the input ladies. I am going to go w Just Murray'd. I like it!!

We had a ver nice Christmas. On Friday, my friend and I decided to make Jack Daniel's Tamales. Have you heard of the Tequilla Cookies recipie? If not, you have to check it out, it's hillarious. Anyway, we made homemade tamales for the first time, and they turned out awsome. The directions we used to give out w them (to cook) was along the lines of the tequilla cookies, except this recepie you can acutally use.

Christmas Eve, I finished up my shopping, w out much trouble. The stores actually weren't that bad, believe it or not. Josh and I took Nico to see Night at the Museum. Wonderful movie, very funny, very family friendly, and even great for adults w out kids. It was supposed to be a date for Nico and I since he have a very good week in school, but he decided that he wanted to have Josh come along as well.

Then, we went to a neighbors house for a great ham dinner, off to church, which was too funny. Josh did something goofy w Nico, and Nico and I ended up having a giggle attack and couldn't stop. We giggled so much that the people behind us started giggling. Hey, it's Christmas! What better time to be happy?

We picked up J's kids at the wicked witch of the west's house who was a totaly scrooge!! But we took all the kids to a house near ours that was decorated and had Santa outside. It turns out the city polie dept put it on, they were giving beany babies to all of the kids and hot choc. to the adults. The do it every year I guess. It was really neat.

Christmas was great. The kids didn't wake up until about 8, and by 830 we were opening gifts. Josh and I spent all day in the kitchn, and it was totally worth it. I made homemade baked beans for the first time, and they were awsome!! I impressed myself!! heehee.

Needless to say, it was very nice, and I hope that all of you had a wonderful day too!!!

I have decided, I want a baby. Josh and I talked before we got married, and decided that we would wait a year before he has his reversal so that we can get settled into being married, and the kids are stable. But you know what, we have lived together for a year and a half now, and the kids are stable (in our home) now. They have alot going on at thier mom's but I can't judge what I do in my life by what is going on in her house. Is that selfish? I toyed for a long time w wether or not I really wanted another one, and now that the wedding is over, I can't stop thinking about it. I told Josh the other day that I don't want to wait a year for the reversal. Our chances for getting preg is 65-75% as it is. If it doesn't work, we will have to seek other avenues, and I don't want to keep waiting to see if that is what we have to do. It seriously makes me sad to think that I have to wait to start trying.

I want a baby!!!

Well, I had a very nice weekend. Friday, our neighbors, who had watched the kids while we were at work, made dinner for Josh and I. The kids helped of course, and it was yummy bbq!!!

Saturday, we didn't do a whole lot, but in the evening, Josh and I went to a friend's going away party. He left for Korea yesterday. . I really feel for his fiance. She won't see him again until mid-tour in July. They are getting marreid then, and Josh is in the wedding, so that will be nice. Anyway, we had so much fun. We danced our batooties off. Well, except for the song where Josh dropped me anyway. He flipped me, but because there were too many people out there who coulnd't dance, it made it difficult, and I landed on my back. It didn't stop me thought!!! We ended up at the Waffle House at about 3 am, which I had never done before. I had a blast there too. There was about 7 of us, and it was hilarious. The funniest past was on the way there, we all piled into a pick up, and three (including Josh) ended up in the back. They were so cold that they laid down in the bed of the truck, and pulled the (sliding) tunnel (sp?) cover over them. There are plenty of joked going about that one!!!

Sunday, We ran around all day w the kids, and took them to lunch at Chick-Fil-A (fast food chick joint). When they were playing in the jungle jym area, we ended up talking w a womand and her niece who's daughter was playng w the kids. It was funny, and just really relaxing. Josh had to work on NYE, but the neighbor's had offered to watch the kids again for us so that I could be there to give Josh our first NYE kiss as a married couple. It was interesting sitting at the bar w him watching all of the drunks act like complete fools. It was even funnier watching the women coming in trying to pick up on Josh. I think it's more fun to people watch when you are the bar. I swear, I NEVER acted like half of those girls!!!

Yesterday, we just hung out at home and watched movies all day w the kids. J's ex was supposed to pick them up at noon (holiday visitation) but she dicided to change it to suit her, w out telling us. She never showed. Turns out she got married on NYE, and didn't want the kids to know. She called them yesterday to tell them. They were hurt because her wedding was planned for next July and the kids were supposed to be in it. Guess she shouldve waited to get pregnant. We still had a nice time w them, and they were happy to stay at our house.

I am tired today. I can't go out two nights in a row like that. I feel guilty for leaving the kids like that, and I am so dang sleepy!!!

Oh, here is a pic of me, Josh, and Nico from Christmas Eve. The other three were w thier mom when it was taken.

Man, this is not a good few days. I feel like crud. I started feeling icky a few days ago. I sounded like a man by the time I went to bed. I woke up yesterday and could barely move, and had to call in. I never get sick. It's been at least a year. I laid in bed all day and did nothing. I tried to clean, but got dizzy, and had to lay back down. I felt great this morn, and went to work, but now I feel horrible. I wanna go home!!!!!!

I was wondering why you hadn't been on yesterday!! That stinks Heather!! I hope you and Josh and are feeling better VERY soon!!

Nick is the BIGGEST baby, he gets a headache and he actually moans and groans about it. I am not a baby at all so I have no tolerance for it, I get so annoyed. I am like "Take tylenol you will be fine" haha. Its mean I know, but if he is REALLY and actually sick I do take careof him, but if he complains of a small tummy ache or a headache and he starts MOANING and whining, I am like take tums or tylenol, you are fine... hehehe

My fiance is the "big brother" in our relationship. When he's sick, he would still do things for himself unless I volunteer. But when I am sick, he's all paranoid and panicking. I don't know but I am a bit happy knowing he's all messed up when I am sick.:) It's just so cute. There was one time I got admitted in a hospital and he felt that I wasn't getting enough attention from the doctors, he demanded and explanation and threaten to sue them if something bad happens to me. The resident doctor took care of me and ask us not to pay half of the hospital bill..

Man, I really haven't been on here much lately. I feel totally lost with all of the new girls that have arrive. I have lost the urge to log on much anymore. I am in such a funk and I can't shake it. I am so happy to be married to Josh. I just sit there sometimes still amazed that HE chose ME to spend the rest of his life with. I have a wonderful family, I love the kids dearly. And I love my friends. But I am still so emotional and sad sometimes. I know that I have read a few other posts about being depressed after the wedding, and that alot has to do w not having anything to plan for, no ancitipation for an upcoming event. But I it's beyond that.

I want a baby. I am so excited for all of the girls here who are having a child. It's an amazing stage in life. And I do have four (one naturally) but I really want one w Josh. It's going to be a while before we can have one because I don't think that the military will end up paying for it. That is what a nurse told him when he called to r/s his consult so that I can be there. For those of you that don't know me, Josh had a vascectomy four years ago. He wants to have it reversed, but even at that, our chances aren't great, only about 70% in our favor.

My friend who was married two weeks after us is pregnant too. I am so happy for her. She is glowing. But I am jealous too. I am so scared that Josh and I won't be able to experience that together, and it truely saddens me. I don't think that I have ever wanted it as badly as I do now.

I am sure that I sound like I am throwing myself a pitty party, so maybe I should just be happy with what I have, right?

Awww Heather! I don't know what to say other than I love you:hug: and your faith is strong...lean on it!

I know what you mean about the after wedding let down...I went thru it too! You aren't feeling sorry for yourself your feeling normal emotions.

As for the baby, God will take care of you guys! You know that!

I know this will sound strange but be an optomist not a pessimist....you know how weather people say 30% chance of rain when you're planning on going to the beach and it rains!? Well there was a 70% chance that it wouldn't but it did anyway, right? So there's a 70% chance of you getting your little Murray and only a TINY 30% chance that you won't! You hang in there, relax and get some good "practice" in...you'll get your baby if my prayers have anything to do with it!

countrygirl
01-12-2007, 05:11 PM
Thanks Ellen. I know that if God wants it to happen it will, and only he can make that decision. I just would he would hurry up!!

I think it's really a mix of things. The baby thing is huge, but it's also the dealing w his x (which I will have to do for at least the next 13 years) and her idiot husband. Oh, yeah, she is preg, and ran to Vegas on NYE and got married, which upset the kids because she was planning a wedding w them in it, and decided to tell them over the phone on NY day when they were at our house.

And I am not liking my job so much anymore. It's boring, and I need a change. But I feel bad becase my boss is now one of my best friends, and preg (don't want to pi$$) her off!!:snide: .

I just need a break I think.

Don't let the funk get you down. You have so much great right now! I know what you mean about wanting a baby and being so happy that everyone that is, but also being sad. Things will work out for you and Josh - one way or the other.
Hang in there, Baby!

Sorry to hear you're in a funk Heather. It sucks that the military is saying they may not cover the reversal...but I remember you saying they would cover infertility treatments, you still have hope if they would cover IVF for the two of you. Josh does not need the reversal for this as they can extract sperm right from his testicles, then they take your eggs, fertilize them in the lab, put you on meds and then when the time is right they put one or two back in and presto...hopefully you get a BFP. I'm hanging onto hope for you Sweetie!! Hang in there, you're strong and we are here for you!!! :D We love you Heather!!! :D

Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I feel so much better today. I came home last night and talked to Josh about how I was feeling. It always helps when I talk to him. We are still going to do the consult, and then see what other options will be avail to us if they don't cover the rev.

Ok, I am bound and determined to bring myself out of this funk. I didn't realize how 'different' I have been until the other night when I was talking w Josh, and he said that even his buddy noticed that I haven't been my 'chipper' self, that I didn't say much at our game on Sunday. THat is a sign, if a GUY notices it.

So, I haven't been going to church much since the wedding, and have missed quite a few of my classes (I'm joining the cath church) due to the holidays, and everyone being ill. We went to church on Sunday, and I went to class last night, and that seemed to help me so much. Just gave me a renewed peice of mind I guess.

I am also going to start on the healthier me, on Feb first. I want to be a part of the weighloss thread, and I am going to stick to it.

I ALSO just spent my lunch house shopping for decor for the house. We put of decorating to save $$ for the wedding, and w no 'party' to plan, I can decorate. I bought pillows for the couch, picture frames that hold 8 pic each, and a pretty 'love never fails' sign. I can't wait to get in in the house!!!

Supermom that knows there's a Wal-Mart on the way to Arizona! Can you say "we got a microwave and fridge in the horse trailer...not to mention a queen size "bed"?

I'll bring my baby, my hubby and two horses...not to mention the portable solar showers we bought last year...self enclosed...the sun warms the water...each one is good for a 5 min shower!

I am not used to it. Nico's dad never gave me roses. He did bring home one once, but he was a bartender and one of the barlflies gave him the rose, and he gave it to me.:snide: He did bring me a plant on my first mother's day, but only after I told him he was a jerk for not doing anything in the first place. We got in a fight later and I threw it at him. I guess that wasn't too nice.

Josh does that once in a while. He brought home some one day because I told him over the phone at work that my friend's boyfriend just brought her some. SO, I came home to some myself.

I don't compare them because there is no comparison. There is nothing in Josh that reminds me of Nico's dad. That is such a good thing. Well, it's been one heck of a day. Yesterday, Josh had traffic school in the am, and Nico and I met him at Hooter's for lunch. I really do like thier food!! I had the best chicken sand!!! Anyway, about 6 last night, J started to get the chills, and horrific stomach pains. We thought it may have been from the hot wings and philly cheese steak sand he had at lunch. He took a muscle relaxer to try to help his tummy, but he was in really bad shape. He ended up going to bed and slept for 12 hrs. This morn, he was still terrible, nauseated, dizzy, abdomen was sore, and he could barely walk, so I took him to Urgent care. They ran a few tests, and then sent him to the ER. It's 730, and we just got home. They did xrays, CT's, UA's, and blood work. They have had him on morphine all day (IV).He started to dry-heave while in there. When they tried to draw blood, he was so dehydrated that they couldn't get enough. They had to poke him three times in diff places to try to get enough. We have been at it for 10 hrs. only to find out that he has acute gastritis that has most likely been caused by the Prilosec the Dr put him on earlier in the week. I feel so bad for him. He hadn't eaten since lunch yesterday, and finally just scarfed down some dinner and is passed out on the couch.

Poor thing. He has a very high tolerance for pain. He was doubled over on the floor of the Urgent Care this morn because of the pain and dizziness. I feel terrible that we didnt' take him in last night, but, at least we went today, and he will be ok. It isn't fun watching your kids sick or in pain. I think it's even worse to watch your husband, because (for most of us) we can't cuddle them up in our laps and hold them. Especially when they are 6'4 and 240 lbs.

OMG! I just heard a story on our local news that an adult sex offender posed as a 12 year old and ended up attending a school in Surprise, AZ. It was a very brief report with very little details. I hope it wasn't the school your kids attend!

I can't even begin to understand how this person pulled this off. How does an adult pass for a 12 year old?! They even interviewed his "teacher" and all she had to say about it was he was a good student and always did his homework on time. WTF? Is she an idiot? She couldn't tell this was an adult?!

Not to defend, given that I really don't have any idea about this person or the teacher, but as a teacher, I can perhaps shed some light on how she may not have known. Currently, I teach at an elementary school that's K-5. Some of the fifth graders are sooo adult looking, and acting, that you wouldn't know the difference.

It's really scary, though, that it wasn't caught in the office or anywhere else when he enrolled. I mean, every school I've ever worked in has required a birth certificate (the school makes a copy of the original) and a medical history beginning when they're babies. I can't imagine how he got around that! So scary!!

WOW!! I just realized that I haven't updated here since Monday. Of course, I haven't been on much since then, excuses excuses!!!

Well, there isn't really much new going on. J's aunt came into town on Tues night, and will be here until next Tues. She is really nice, a bit quiet, but very nice. I was going to take her on base to see J at work on Wed, but it was raining so hard that the jets weren't flying, so that didn't work!!

Tomorrow, we are taking her to Old Tucson and Tombstone. She has never been to Az, so we thought we would do the tourist thing. We thought about the Grand Canyon, but it's a four hour drive each way, and we only plan on making a day trip.

We have the kids signed up in t-ball and baseball. Well three of the four anyway. Our oldest daughter lost her softball priv's this season because she is still screwing around in school. She still isn't turning her work in on time, and the only time she does, is when she is at our house and we have to cram a weeks worth of homework into one night because she doesn't do it at her moms. So her mom agreed that she didn't deserve to play this season. Oh, but then the day after we withdrew her from softball, her mom emails me and says that she had just gotten an award for turning all of her homework in this quarter. She said she doesn't think that she deserves to have it taken away. Ummm, ok, so reward her for only doing homework one day a week? It's $50 a kid. She doesn't deserve that at this point in time. If she wants to put her in, she can pay it herself. We paid for the other three.

Lets see, what else........... I guess that is about it. Nothing special.

NicksBride

I have ben walking funny all week. I played 4 games on Friday, and ended up tripping myself (yes, I am infact a total clutz). I litterally skinned my knee cap and cant walk normal. Guess I shouldn't do that again.

Josh's Aunt came out last week, and stayed until yesterday. She is great. Very mellow, and very nice. She laughed at us alot, which seems to happen quite often....hmmm,....I wonder why.;)

We ended up taking her to Tombstone, the western town where the 'Shootout at the O.K. Corral" happend. It was pretty neat. I love history, and love walking thru it. We saw a few 'shows', one of which they picked two men out of the croud for a horseshoe throwing contest. Josh was one of them. The funny thing was, they horseshoes were acutally painted toilet seats. The actor had the other man just drop his and called him the first man who ever learned to put the seat down!! HAHAHA!

Nico had his pic taken w that actor, and w a nother on the street dressed at Doc Holiday. We tried to see the actual shootout re-enactment, but the sold out. They tried to get the actors to hold a second showing, but they are only contracted for one and didn't want to do the second. Butts!! Oh well. We walked thru Boot Hill Graveyard, where there are over 100 burial sites, some of them belonging to the members of the orignal shoot out. It was interesting to read the stories on how some of them died.

That is about it for the week. Oh, but a friend is working on our home comp for the next few days, so I may be able to get on from home this weekend. We shall see!!

We did have a nice time.

Josh was finally able to take her on base yesterday and she watched the jets for about a half hour, and shopped for her family at the BX. She loved it!! Hopefully when J's brother graduates from HS in May we can go out there to see them all again, and meet more of his family.

Well I had a VERY nice weekend.

Friday, I had the day off to go gey my new SS card ordered. I know, it's been three months. OOPS! But I was out of there in 30 minutes. I then went shopping some gift cards, and had a blast! I went to Bath n Body Works, Vic. Secret, and Boot Barn. Nico had a dr apt (yearly check up) and was so funny w the dr. They had me laughing quite a bit. But he had to get two shots, and he cried. Poor baby! He got a milkshake for that!

Friday night, I played another four games (softball) and one of them was against Josh. That was great! But I got hit in the shin w the ball and walked funny all weekend!

Sat, I cleaned all day, so that wasn't exciting, but at least I have a clean house.

But, Sunday, was nice. It was my birthday, so Josh got up and made me breakfast. We then went to church, and the kids were awsome!! After church our neighbor came over and offered to watch the kids for the afternoon so Josh and I could go out for a few hours. We went to Elephant Bar, and had an amazing lunch. I got a bit tipsy, and giggled alot!! Then off to a movie.

When we came home, we had a message that our game was rained out, so we got to stay home for the evening. But we hadnt been home all day, and Josh still wanted to make a cake, so after running to the store (oops, no eggs) it was finally done about 830. But the kids were already in bed. Heehee. THey had already sang happy birthday do me and gave me a beautiful buckle. I saw it when we were in Tombstone weekend before last. I didn't know it, but Josh had gone back in the store after we left it and bought it for me. I will post a pic in a few. I love it. I am going to wear it to the Daryl Worley (sp?) concert this weekend. It's a benifit concert for the military.
