To help the flow of creative juices, I am posting the stuff that I couldn't use for whatever reason. They're just ideas, pictures, themes, etc. that got put in the mental garbage can.

If anyone wants to use them, feel free!! :D

So far we didn't use the Jones's soda. It was just ridiculously expensive. For favors I wanted to give to a charitable foundation in the names of all of guests but Sean would not hear of it. His guests were going to have something to take home to remember his wedding by. So now I am stuck looking for something else. I don't think he understands that it would have been like a million times easier to do my idea.

Alot of my clients order personalized wallets from the engagement session or bridal session & put out as favors - that way your guest have something my personal.

When I was a photographer I had quite a few brides do something similar. I use to carry these little photo frames that held wallets and could be engraved with the couple's name and wedding date.

Another similar idea would be to get programs with little slits to put wallets on the back along with a "Special Thanks" message and give those out too.

I have lots and lots if ideas from weddings I have seen or helped with and some ideas I had thought about but ended up not using when I got married. I will have to think more on it and I will post some more later.

Lacey--you might be able to get your favors from somewhere that makes a donation.

We're giving personalised honey jars. You might be able to get something locally grown and prepared (supports the local economy and small farms). They'll keep it in their fridge and use it, at least. The last wedding favor I got sat on my dresser until the candies inside went bad.

Here is another idea for some affordable favors -- buy or make labels with your wedding colors and a photo/chip art then place them neatly on unique items that your guests will appreciate and use. Like scented soaps, golf balls, sparkling cider drinks, scented candles, etc ...

This past summer my fiance's mother got married and she did a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. She had alot of her gests thank her for not doing a little bag of candies or somthing like that. Everyone Really appreciated the donation. We felt like cancer would be the best since so many in our family had been affected by it. Maybe you guys could find somthing small for your guests to take home, and donate a dollar for each guest attending as well.

In June my cousin got married and they did the same thing. They made a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in honor of his mother who had died a year and a half before their wedding. It touched so many people's hearts and everyone loved it. (my mom espicially) At our wedding we did little boxes with our names and wedding dates on them....most people left the boxes behind and only ate the Fero Rochea. I was choked....so I think that we should have done a donation, it would have been more worth our money! And besides, what would make you feel better then doing a donation to a charity that always can use money to help find the cure!?!?

PS Jenn06306 where abouts in Canada are ya?? Alberta here!

Both my fiance and I like the oriental style, but it isn't really going to be incorporated into the wedding. So I decided to make origami boxes as favors. Origami paper is not too expensive: I just have to fold them all. Then we're going to put the usual candy in them (we're getting married less than a month after easter, so we're going to grab a couple bags of easter m&ms when they come out). But people will still have something to keep long after the chocolate gets eaten/goes bad.

A favor that still makes me chuckle- for a wedding where they were expecting lots of drinking- they gave out cute little boxes inside was a coupon for a local breakfast spot and some Alka-Seltzer. Your hangover fix in a box.

LOL! Boy that one got me. You could always pass out those hangover pills they have nowadays...what are they called...Chaser? That'd be quite the treat for your guests who are going to get entirely too drunk...especially if you're going to have any sort of morning after brunch.

The "hangover cure" favor is awesome & would have been completely appropriate for some wedding receptions I've attended!! It made me laugh, not only was it original but I guess, useful too! CarlosHoney, thanks for the ideas. Those are some beautiful pics! Blessings, allydawnoo40
