:D I'm so Happy for my mommy!!! :D
My mom is getting 'married'!!!!! She's a lesbian, so it's called a 'Civil Union' but whatever, she's going to be a bride! She married my Dad, but since they divorced when I was 6 hasn't wanted to marry again. She met the sweetest, most wonderful girl and they're really happy.
This girl has helped my mom through all of the problems that she's having (My Brother's Death, becoming a Grandma) and making her see that the future is bright. They're going to pick out rings and go on vacation. They're just going to do it on the beach, just the two of them, but when they return, their attourney will have drawn up the paperwork and they're giving each other the Legal rights and stuff that Married couples have. I think it's so sweet!
My mom always said that if she was to ever be married again that she would want her First Dance to be 'At Last' by Etta James. That's why I'd never dance that one myself. It's my Mom's song. I'm going to tell Staci (her girl) to have it play at wherever they go so that it can be their song.
I'm so happy for my mom. She's finally settling down. Thank goodness!! She seems to be handling the baby better now too. Staci is making her understand that me having a baby doesn't mean that she's going to be 'old' now, and that she can still be who she is. I think my mom is having a Mid-Life Crisis.. but Staci is helping her through it.
