I've been stuck here in bed really using my own mind to entertain myself.
I was just wondering if anyone has any special Christmas or Holiday memories that are very special to you?
For me it was 4 years ago. Every family has it's ups and downs, arguments, tiffs and what not. And this doesn't's go on hold just cause it's the 25th of December. Dec 17 I had a dr's appointment. That day i was diadnosed with cervical cancer. My family as a whole was crushed. All i could think was that i ruined Christmas. My family came together like never before and showed one another just how much they loved eachother. We all smiled and hugged and just embraced that day that we all had together. I know it was under bad circumstances, but the love that was shown that day will never be forgotten! Christmas 2002 was the best, and a few months later when i ended up back on remission was even better, but that day stands out and always will.

I have a lot of good Christmas memories, but my favorite would have to be the when I was 13. A favorite cousins from Holland came to spend the holidays with us and we just had a blast showing them around. I loved feeling so close to my family and seeing my cousins that live so far away. It was really special.
Last year I volunteered with this group at my college. We gathered up presents for the terminally ill children at a nearby hospital. Christmas Eve day we delivered the presents and each spent the day with a child. I had a little girl named Gracie who was 6 years old at the time. She was such a sweetheart and I just remember hugging her before I left and never wanting to let go. I cried the whole way home and it just really really instilled the holiday spirit in me.

my favorite christmas was when I was about 8.My sister and I had gotten an easy bake oven for christmas. My sister and I followed the instructions to the letter and tried to bake my dad a cake. It was so funny because for some reason the cake would not bake! We were so upset. So my dad went into the kitchen and turned on the real oven. Took all the easy bake oven cake batter and poured it in the real pan, and we baked him a cake right out the oven! And he said it was horrible, but he still ate it! (LOL) That was so funny. And my dad swears alot so you can imagine the things he was saying! Hilarious!

My fav. Christmas has been every christmas since my children have been born 13 years ago. Sorry can't just pick one. But the morning of christmas and to see the look on their faces is priceless and that makes the day that much more special to me.

Mine is when I was 13 or 14 a year year or 2 before my mom died. I remember it was christmas eve and my sister and her kids were staying in town with us. Everyone else had gone to bed and I stayed up with my mom and played santa. We finished wrapping last little gifts and stuffed the stockings. I remember that thing was on tv where its just a log burning and they play christmas songs. And we had a fire in the fireplace going. It was nice.

That sounds like a really beautiful memory! It reminds me of the christmas's I had with my Mom growing up. She's a single parent and she always made it special. Christmas eve was always our night together.

This might not be my favorite Christmas memory, but it's definately memorable. I think about it every year and someone always brings it up, at least once, on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Christmas of 1999 - I either had the day off, or got off early. My friend Tam and I decided to go to the mall. When we left the mall, it had snowed and become a little icy. No worries though. We would just take it slow. I decided to stay away from the crazy main highway. As we're rounding a bend and going to take the cut off to the right, a car came speeding up the hill, spinning all the way and in my lane. I tried so hard to get my car off of the road (I got about a tire and a half off) and he smacked into us, head on.
I found my glasses in the back seat. Tam was admiring the slippers she bought and didn't see him coming. She smacked her knees off of the glove box - thank goodness we both had our seat belts on. My side took the brunt.
I couldn't get my car door open to get out. It's probably a good thing I had to sit there for a minute - I may have strangled the irresponsible moron who hit us. Bless Tammy, she calls my dad to tell him what happened - I was crying and couldn't talk. She had a hard time explaining where we were. Talk about scaring the family on Christmas Eve.
I have to say, that has to be the most meaningful Christmas Eve church service ever. I was so thankful that the only thing seriously hurt was my car (completely totaled). Tammy and I were sore for a long time.
Someone always brings that up....how I'm not allowed to go to the mall on Christmas Eve.

The most special Christmas memory I have is from 2001, Cameron (my nephew) was born on December 17th with Vater Syndrome, he was such a cute smiley baby, but had to be rushed to another hospital for emergency surgery because he had no rectum/colon, he pulled though like a little champ, some of the children with Vater don't survive sometimes do to other problems. That Christmas he was our little miracle baby, he lights up a room everytime he walks in too it. He loves to give hugs and kisses to everyone and smiles all the time. He has had 13 surgeries for multiple other things that go along with Vater syndrome but he never complains, he has to go through a daily Enema routine that as an adult I would cry having to have it done just once let alone every day. He makes me look at myself sometimes and realize that maybe my problems are just petty things, if he could go through all that my crappy day at work is a peice of cake. He is the one Christmas memory that will stay in my heart forever.

My favorite was when my sisters and I were still very young, I think I was 5. It was the last time we ever really got to spend christmas all together as a happy family.
