Just a little warning before traditional gift giving time.

Well the crooks have found a way to rob you of your gift card
balance. If you buy Gift Cards from a display rack that has various store
cards you may become a victim of theft. Crooks are now jotting down the card numbers in the store and then wait a few days and call to see how much of a balance THEY have on the card. Once they find the card is "activated", and then they go online and start shopping. You may want to purchase your card from a customer service person, where they do not have the Gift Cards viewable to the public. Please share this with all your family and friends...

That is a good point. Some of the stores have cards where you have to stratch off to find the number. I think Wal-Mart does this and I know Bed, Bath, and Beyond does because I just recently got one as a shower gift.

I have gotten in the habit of checking things like this on Snopes to make sure it isn't another Internet hoax. But this one is true (http://www.snopes.com/fraud/sales/giftcard.asp)!
I have never thought about this kind of thing, but usually get my gift cards from the cashier. I will pass this along, thanks for sharing!

I emailed this on and my sister sent me a reply that she has been doing for about a year she orders her gift cards and then whoever she sends them to can use them on secure sites on the internet.
