 I'm going to kill someone!!!!!!!!! :(

These people are working on our apartment building. They are re-doing the siding. Looks nice, but for the last week they've been banging on my apartment building. Today they started at 7:30 in the morning and right on the other side of my fireplace.

I didn't get to bed until like, 3am, so I'm very cranky and I can't sleep (though I would love to) becasue there's guys outside, shouting spanish, and sawing, banging, nailing, etc. I'm about to take away the nail gun and kill all of them. Then I'd have silence to sleep. :D

Carlo got a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday. We went to the emergency room because his face was swolen when he woke up, and all day long I was waiting on him hand and foot. I don't mind, really, but being 7 months preg, I'm more inclined to be the one waited on. I'm just sick of the banging. I want it to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Here here!

WHY, please tell me WHY, landlords find it necessary to hire people who get up at the crack of dawn to come do their work? We had a MAJOR leak in our apartment a week and a half ago and, when the roofer could get up there, he was up there at seven in the morning! I sleep! I have to sleep! I need to be beautiful in six months! ARGH!!!!!!!

Ok, I comiserate with you. Good luck...you could always go pull the pissed off pregnant woman on them. All guys, no matter what language they speak, know not to mess with a pregnant woman. I suggest a baseball bat if you have one...that will definitely get your point across. :)

I've got lots of baseball bats... Carlo used to play baseball. But, I don't know if it would accomplish anything. I thought about calling the apartment complex management, but again, they wouldn't stop just becasue I was about to kill someone. I'd actually have to do it first.

They start at the crack of dawn's behind and they don't stop for 12 hours, I've been off for 3 days, trying to rest and relax before I work 4 days straight (it takes a lot to get my uniform on these days) and all I've got is this sence that at least if I'm at work, I don't hear banging.

The clencher is that Carlo works nights. If he had been able to work yesterday, he would have gone to bed around 4 or 5. Then, at 7:30, he would have been woken up. He's taking Vicodin, for the tooth pain, so he's out. I can't take anything, and I'm about to go postal.

Go shopping!

Just kidding, but I know it seems to be the remedy for a lot of people. Got any headphones? That might help at least tune it out a little bit. I know what you're going through. And, as of last December, I know what Carlo is going through too...lucky guy, those pills knocked me right out!

I don't know. It might be the hormonal imbalancy that is known as pregnancy, but I don't want headphones. Shopping sounds good, but I be broke. I just want to kill. That's all.

I just want to see the blood dripping down and be satisfied that they won't bang anymore. Maybe I really ought to call the office and complain. At least they would know that we don't give a **** about the siding and would rather have our peace.

I just feel sorry for anyone with kids. Or a baby. I immagine they're having a real great time.

Is there a place you can go and hang out for awhile? Maybe a friend will let you borrow their couch for a couple of hours while they are at work? I feel for you I really do. I know what it is like to be tired and it is too noisy to sleep. I can only imagine that it is worse when you are pregnant.

For the last month when the weather has been good enough to keep the windows open at night we have had the same problem every Saturday morning. For some reason the houseing association that we belong to in our group of townhouses has felt the need to have someone here mowing the grass. This is nice except for a few things. One they do it on Saturday. Two they do it at like 8 am. We are a bunch of yuppies living here, none of us want to be woken up at 8 am on a Saturday morning. Three, it is god **** October, the grass stopped growing weeks ago!

It's mainly that Carlo is knocked out. I'd just tell him that we need to go somewhere. The sleep thing sucks, but I can sleep later. I just don't want to hear the banging anymore!!

I don't drive, either, so I can't really go anywhere. I need to get my lisence. I do. But, I'm also a procrastinator.

Being pregnant can really suck sometimes. There were times when I was in my last trimesters thay I hated everyone and everything. It didnt take much to have me trying to go postal.
BUT........then again the banging itself is enough to cause someone to be homicidal.
Hang in there.......They will be finished eventually.

They are still outside. Still banging.

I'm wishing a slow and painful death upon each of them.

They SHOULD be almost done with my building. They started up AGAIN this morning at 7:30. It's evil.

I called the office to complain, and they were like 'Sorry, it sucks, but there's not much we can do!' Yeah. Useful, huh?

I just am looking forward to going to work. A few hours free of noise. :D

tap tap tap tap ............... sorry I couldn't resist. It was a bad day at work and I have to take my frustrations out on the innocent.

I think that they are done. I think.

It's 6:45, and technicly they still have 45 min of 'Driving Carrie Crazy' time, but they are not. Hmm.

Oh, wait. I spoke too soon. Cue the buzzsaw.

Next time they are quiet...dont say anything to anybody.....that way they might stay quiet.
If I were in your shoes...Id be living in a bubble bath.

I think that they are almost done with my building. They won't be out of the complex, but the sounds will be faded enough to be bearable.

That's a new requirement for potential apartment homes--I will be asking if they plan on making any loud improvements in the next year. There's a nice place that we might move into in Feb. They're like mini-houses! They are an apartment, but it is one floor, has a small yard and fence, and some have a garage. Not bad at all. I'm pretty sure they're made of brick. No siding to install!

That sounds like a nice place. Hope you get to move there.

Me too! :D

Having your own "place" where you don't have to share common walls or space is the coolest thing ever. My bedroom was right above my parents at home so if in the middle of the night I got up to pee my mother questioned me in the morning. Then in college I always ended up with the neighbor from hell. (Or in some cases the neighbor that even Lucifer didn't want.) Then I had common wall partners after school. The way our town house is built we share one part of one wall with one neighbor. It happens to be the part that goes up both of our staircases. The best part is for at least half the year the neighbor is in another country working.
