Well, now it is my turn to create my wedding day story. But, I will start with a few days prior to the wedding. After all of the family drama, ups and downs, and sideways paths, it all worked out. A few days before the wedding, my sister called and said that she wasn't going to be able to make it due to my brother in law's job not givig him the time. But God willing, she and her family made it.

The rehersal was nice. I made the mistake though of looking at my mother as I (practice) walked down the isle. She was already in tears and of course, that made me cry. Dang her!!! But we went thru it all smoothly, and I didn't remember a thing once we left.

The rehersal dinner then commenced at a friends house, minus some guest.....including the maid of honor, her family, and the groom. On the way to our GM house where we were having the dinner, we lost both sets of grandparents. They made a wrong turn and got lost in traffic. We found them, but then lost my IN LAWS!! (I like saying in laws). Found them too. So, I get to the house, and my sister (MOH) is lost. Can't get ahold of her for about an hour. More on that later. My groom to be calls. He is broken down on the side of the road, and has to fix his truck. He finally made it safe and sound. Then my sister shows up, turned out they ran to walmart to get my nitwit BiL a shirt because he forgot to bring one. On thier way back, they run over a nail, and get a flat.

The night then proceeded w no probs. It was beautiful outside. Not too chilly, no drama, and all around great!!!

So, now to the wedding day. My MiL, sister, and I went to have our hair done, and has a nice time. My parents stayed at home w the kids so that we could go. We had just enought time to get home, get the girls' hair fixed, get makeup on, and head out the door. I was bound and determined not to be late, and I wasn't. My mother was, but that is because she was so busy w the kids while we were gone that she didn't have much time to beautify!!

We finally got out the door at the same time the photgrapher was arriving at the church. Good thing the church was less than a five min drive!!

It didn't hit me that it was MY wedding day until we were sitting at the light waiting to turn left, and I watched Josh drive by in the truck. He had his tux jacket on, his black stetson on, and I could see our boys' hats as well. I can't explain how happy I was at that moment.

When we arrived at the church some of the GM met me at the car, and I was dumbfounded at how handsome they all looked. Josh hid in the church so that I could walk to the room I needed to go to w/out him seeing me. The girls were all in there dressed and ready to go. My BM's were getting flowers, jewlery, and eveything else ready while my mom and MiL helped me. But, oops, I forgot my pettycoat!!! Josh had to run home to get it.

Just before I left of join the procession, I realized I also forgot my sixpense for my shoe. My stepdad looked down, and found a penny, heads up, and we used that instead.

OOh, I have butterflies just going back over all of this.

When I finally got a glimpse of Josh, I could have fainted. He was in all black (ivory shirt) and looked amazing. And our boys were so handsome. They were smiling from ear to ear. I purposely didn't look at my mom, and made it down the isle w out falling on my face. yippee!!!!!

The ceremony was beautiful. I didnt remember a thing from the other night, so I just followed J's cues. Jacqueline cried, and at one point, I saw Nico lean over around Josh and sneak a peak at me. I winked at him, and he winked back. That was the most touching part I think. To know that my six year old son was as happy as I was.

We made it thru it all, and it was wonderful. The bridal party left the church in all lifed Ford trucks that were lined up along the sidewalk. Josh had to hike me up in my dress, which was interesting. We some some pretty long stares from people in other cars, I'll tell ya that!!!

When we arrived at the golf course, the guests were lined up outside the door, and blew bubbles as we walked in. A bit backwards, but it worked!!! The room looked beautiful!!! It was prettier than I imagined it would be. The centerpieces worked beautifully, the candles were lit, and it was so romantic.

So, on to the reception. After mingling for a few minutes, we headed out the back of the rest. to take the bridal party, parents, and g.parents for pics at the lake near the back of the golf course. There was a line of gold carts ready to take us there!!!! It was great. The women drove, and guys were along for the ride!!! You should have seen me pile my dress up in my lap!! It was hilarios!!! My cart did ok, though I though I was going to tip it a few times!!! But I punched it the entire way!!My sister's cart wouldn't go vry fast, so she held up traffic. And at one point, my new BiL who had to drive because my niece wasn't old enough to slammed into the back of another one. I guess he forgot that they had brakes!! We took some great pics. I think we were out there for about an hour. It was a bit overcast, but it worked great for the pics.

When we got back to the rest, we got yelled at because eveyone was starved!! TOUGH TANOOTIES!!!!!! haahaa!!!!

We sat down to eat, but had to do toasts instead. There were some very touching ones that of course brought tears to my eyes. We are very fortunate to have the friends that we have. Anyway, thankfully there weren't as many people there as were expecting because some of the guest were HUNGRY to say the least. The bbq brisket was a hit. Everyone loved it!!!!

Cake time then came around, and the poor thing was leaning. But it was beautifu none the less. THen came the groom's cake. It was a cowboy hat, but not just a side view. It was a cake, in the shape of an actual cowboy hat, and stood up, as if it were being worn. I have never seen anything like it. It was amazing.

Dance time!!!!! We danced our first dance to "I Cross My Heart". There was no set times for anything, we just flew by the bustles of my dress. I got to dance w my mom, which was a blast. She used to be an instructor in her hayday, and compimented Josh and I. That meant alot to me.

The garter toss came around, and everyone was cheering J on to take it off w his teeth, but with kids around, we didn't think that would be right. It was caught by a friend who is looking to get married next summer. He wore it as a hat band the rest of the night. The bouq. was caught the the DJ's (also friends) girlfriend.

A very good friend, who sings a bit like LeAnn Rimes sang an original song for us, and it was perfect. She has gigs at a few local bars, and had a record deal in Nash. last year, but had a falling out w her mgr (dad) and is on her own now. When she makes it big, I can an say "SHE SANG AT MY WEDDING!!"

The whole day was very relazing, romantic, and lovely. It wasn't as wild and crazy as I was expecting, but it was full of laughter, happy tears, and love.

I used to think that the best thing that ever happened to me was the birth of my son. I was wrong. The best thing that has ever happened to me is my wedding. I got married to the most amazing person I have ever known. And the the best part of it is that my son, my family and my friends were a part of it.

And what makes it even better is that I get to share it w my OneWed sisters. Thank you all so much for everything you have done for me. I coudln't have gotten thru some of the nasty situations, and ditsy blonde moments w out you all.

I love you girls!!!

Well, like I said, as soon as the server isn't moving slower than snail nail, I should be able to get it going. Maybe tomorrow.

The evening of the wedding, we stayed at the same hotel that my grandmother and her 'friend' were staying at. We already had the room reserved, and it was just overnight, so we didn't need anything really fancy. It was a nice room though. When we showed up at the hotel, in our wedding garb, w Josh picking me up out of the truck, we got some pretty iteresting looks from the other guests in the parking lot. We walked past one group, and a lady said "ahhh, how cute". Cute? DO I look like a prom girl? NO!! WEDDING DRESS LADY!!! Anyway, we ended up changing into jean, and and I had to wear my wedding slippers, I forgot shoes. Hell, I forgot to pack bags!!

Anyway, we were starved, so we went to Wendys and then to Walmart for contact cleaner for Josh. I guess we really are REDNECKS!!!

We spent the next day openin gifts, and doing nothing but relaxing.

We had planned on Mexico, then Catalina Island, but ended up headin up to Sin City. I had never 'done' vegas, and we had a blast. We stayed at a hotel about 10 min south of the strip, and it was very nice. A two room suite for about $65/night.

I had so much fun. We watched the fountains at the Bellagio, many times, the ship sinking at Treasure Island, went up the Eiffel Tower, toured Madamme Teausoud's Wax Museum (sp?), went on a nighttime outdoor gondela (sp) ride, played in the midway at Circus Circus, watched a topless (can-can) style show at the Tropicana, toured the dolphin and Secret Garden exhibit at the Mirage, and walked for about 14 straight on Tues. All of that was done in two days. Oh, and we went on a timeshare tour to get some of that free. hehee. We have actually toured a few, and this is one that we may end up buying into in a few years. We have talked about that before.

We also walked around the Hoover Dam for about an hour. I have driven over it so many times, but never stopped.

Oh, I forgot, we had beer at Toby Keith's I Lve this Bar and Grill, watched mud wrestling at Gillies (we thought there was dancing that night) and finished our last night off at Coyote Ugly. That was intersting. I didn't get up on the bar to dance, but if my friends were there w me, I just may have!!!

Well, thngs seem to be calming down a bit around the Murray house. My sister and I still aren't talking (posted about that in another thread), but that isn't really anything new in our lives.

Josh has had to take on a second job to get us thru Christmas. It's going to be small, but thankfully the kids are young enough that they don't want much, and it's a good time to start NOT spoiling them monitarily at the holidays. It gives us a better chance to teach them what Christmas is REALLY about. I offered to get a job w a catering comp (I know the owner) . I have done two jobs at once before, no biggie. I thought that way he wouldn't have to miss time w the kids when they are at the house, but he won't ALLOW me to. Hey, who does he think his? My husband? heehee. I love to say that.

MY HUSBAND!! MY HUSBAND!! MY HUSBAND!!

Anyway, it's bouncing at the 'local' bar near the house, and we are friends w the band, so at least it isn't a bad deal. The singer can keep an eye on him and make sure that no icky bar flies to to take him home!! haha.

I finally have time on weekends to relax, I never thought that would happen! But now it's catch up time on cleaning, and laundry, oh joy, but J has been helping w that, so that is nice. And it is giving me time to remake the stockings for the kids and Josh. Our fam has traditionally had handmade stockings for years, and last year our husky decided to chew three of them up. There was choc candies in them, and the dog loves choc. She didn't get sick either, surprising enough.

This weekend is the second round in our our softball tourny. I am having so much fun w that. Its been a great release for me.

I guess that is just about it for now.

Sorry you and your sister are not talking. But stick to your guns on that one.

Are christmas is going to be very slim here as well. And this only reminds me of how spoiled I have made my DD over the last three years. I think I finally got her to see how lucky she is this year to even have a christmas at all. Glad yours are young enough to not realize the costs of gifts. Your right, don't spoil them now.

Enjoy your weekends now. have fun and good luck with the tourney.

Thanks Tresia. It will be nice to get back into living in my house rather than visiting it!!!!

I was talking to my mom the other day, and she was saying that looking back, she has realized that she lost the meaning of Christmas in trying to spoil us. Luckily, she kept us in church, so we always had that 'rememberance' every year. I want to pass that along to the kids.

I can't wait to get the decor up this weekend though.I love decorating for the holidays. It's my fav time of year.

I agree. I still need to find an "our first christmas" ornament. I have time though. I just love having the kids excited about decorating too.

And last year we had a blast making cookies for santa. But I think this year, we are going to start making a birthday cake for Jesus too. I like that idea.

That's a wonderful idea. I know at my cousin's church they do a birthday party for Jesus in the Sunday school class.

Have fun decorating, Heather! I just can't get into Christmas when the weather is 70 degrees and sunny. LOL! I haven't put a single decoration up, or bought a single present yet. :bbcry:

Well, we tried to get the decor done over the weekend, but didn't get it finished. We are going to finish the tree tonight, since we have the kids. They can't wait. Thier mom is doing it next weekend when they are w us, so they really want to help at our house now!!!

We had our softball tourn last night and can in third in the league!! Pretty good since our first season we did't win a game!!!

I am a bid sad right now. We found out yesterday that Josh's ex is pregnant. She made **** sure that after thier last daughter was born, Josh would be the one to get fixed. She told 'friends' that Josh needed to be the one because if they got divorced and he remarried, he would already have enough kids to take care of. Now, they are divorced, we are married, and she gets another child. She can't even take care of the three that she has, and her 'fiance' has three that he really doesn't even get to see. How on earth can that be? Josh can had the op reversed, but it's like a 70% chance for us to concieve.

I don't want to tell Josh that I am sad about it, because I know that it will make him feel bad, but ******, it's not fair.

ladymelissa
12-11-2006, 02:20 PM
Wow! I am sorry about the ex, what a psycho, the phrase, "if they got divorced" would have been enough to make me run. In any event she has nothing to do with you and Josh and it's not completely her fault that he had the procedure done (unless of course she pulled a Lorena Bobbitt). I would also assume that you knew Josh had gotten a vasectomy before you married him and that was not a deal breaker.

Ignore her, this new baby is none of your concern and just a pathetic attempt to get attention. Just focus on your wonderful relationship with Josh.

12-11-2006, 03:03 PM
Yeah, I did know about the proc. before we got married, but I guess the reality of it all just hit me yesterday. But hey, even if the reversal never works, at least we will have fun praciting!!!

The things that worries me the most is what this new baby will do to the kids. They dont' want another baby in the house. We are trying to be possitive w them about it, because it certainly won't help matters if we arent. But I worry about who will take care of the kids she already has. It's clear that she doesnt now, and did't when they were younger. Josh did most of the work. Now, when the new baby comes, they will be left to fend for themselves even more.

That is unfortunate if it will hurt the kids, maybe you and Josh will end up with full custody if it really gets worse.

12-12-2006, 02:11 PM
Well, I am just a wreck today. Yesterday, Josh called to ask his x which week she wanted to have the kids over the Christmas break. Her 'fiance' wouldn't let Josh talk to her, and said that Josh will talk to HIM regarding any custody or visitation concers. Josh told him no, that it isn't up to him, that the x needs to go over it with him. They ended up getting into it again, and that was the end of it.

Well, then the 'fiance' leaves a message on J's cell saying that he doesn't know if Josh is over the x yet, but he's gong to have to get over her because she is getting married and he is going to have to deal w it. Ummm, not over her? He said that Josh WILL discuss issues w him because the x can't handle the stress sice she is now preg. THen why does she stand at her door screaming when Josh asks her to make her My Space acct privite since it's got the kids plastered all over it, and it has thier full names, the city they live in and the place she works at? Ok, a bit off track.

I called her fiance back and told him firstoff that Josh is not still in love w the x, and that he has been over her for quite some time. Otherwise, we wouldn't be married would we moron? Anyway, he said that he just didn't know if Josh was over her and that he wants to make sure we undertand that he is in her life. OK!!! The subject came up about disciplining the kids and he said that he doesn't, he lets her to it, and even when they are married, he won't. "Even if Josh were to die" and he adopts the kids.......WOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!! Where did that come from? I ripped him for that one too!!

Anyway, couldn't sleep after that. I get to work this morn, and the X emailed me and said that she will not do anything other than what the custody orders have written because any time she asks us for a change we have to gain from it. But when We asked to pick the kids up 3 hrs early on Sunday because they wanted to go to our games w us, she said only if she gets them for three hours on one of our days.

Then she said that if she doesn't recieve the $95 we owe her for Isabelle's glasses by the 14th, she is going to file charge for 'intereferring' w court orders. She said that she has verbally tried to make arrangements for payment. Do the words " I want my money, I want it now" sound like payment arrangements? And when we let her work off the $$ she owed us by babysitting her own kids, she refused to work the $95 into that.

What ever!!! I can't take anymore!!!

She's doing anything she can to put herself back in the spotlight. You got married and "stole her thunder" (gee Heather, how could you? :snide: )

Ignore her, as for the boyfriend...he can't force J to talk to him, hell he's only the boyfriend...her getting knocked up does not give her a ticket out of responsibilty over her children...how stupid! Sounds like she's been playing the ex...prolly getting what she wants out of him by mentioning J, which therefore makes jealousy rear it's ugly head...he's just the idiot stuck in the middle...ignore him.

She is doing this because she see's how happy and normal and functioning your life is and she can't have it so she is trying to cause friction the only way she knows how.

I'm so sorry you are going thru this. If it gets worse notify the court system of the interference by the boyfriend and the harassment. Don't try to deal with this yourself...

countrygirl
12-12-2006, 02:36 PM
Well, the only thing that does seem to help a bit is when her boyfriend and I discuss the problems. We can usually talk camly, and we are able to come to some understanding on things. There is no yelling. But he has to realize that I have been in the pic for over 2 years, and am now legally bound to those kids. He is (as I told him last night) the boyfriend of the month, and has to realize that Josh doesn't have to deal w him, and after her track record w men since thier div, he doesn't know if she is serious about this one or not.

The good thing, she doesn't complain when I get involved. I think that maybe she knows deepdown that I am totally in this part of it for the kids. Not her, not Josh (well, maybe alilttle Josh) but for those kids.

I hope you have things a little easier soon!!! Your very sensible and strong though!!! Id be freakin out like a loony all the time!!! which would do no-one any good!!! When Joes ex does things i turn into a little fire ball!!!! She poisons the kids minds as well though and i really have to bite hard on my tongue sometimes!!! She tells them that her and Joe are married!!!! lol ( he never married her!) and she tells them that she beat me up!! (i'd like to see her try!!) I really dont want this to sound awful, so forgive me if it does but if she does have another one, she might not have time for the others and you might get full custody!

Heather,
You have the patience of a saint. I could never deal with her as rationally as you. I give you major credit. It's not easy marrying someone with children but to add a jealous ex to the picture sure makes it alot harder. You totally have my support! Keep up the good work hun. On a light note...I GOT MY PIC'S BACK!!!!!! THey are awsome!!! Some of them were a bit dark (inside) because one wall of the room was a long window, and you cant really use much of a flash w that, but the are great. As soon as I can be on the comp long enough to post some, I totally will.

It may be a week or so, but I will get some up. Josh doesn't want me putting too many online, but a few he won't mind.

We finally got the tree decorated last night. When I got home last night, Josh had the lights on it, and dinner cooking. That was awsome!! I am totally lucky to have him!!! We didn't put all of the decorations on beacause we want to wait until the kids are here so that they can help too. But the living room is pretty much done. It brought my spirits up to see that. Now I just have to get some presents under the tree.

Well, I am finally into the holiday spirit, a bit late, but I have arrived!! Josh had to take a second job for a few months to get us into the new year, and last night, after the kids went to bed, I just sat there w the dog, all lights out, but the Christmas lights and tv, and loved the way it all looked. And now that we are getting financially caught up from the wedding, we can finally go Christmas shopping for the kids. We haven't been able to get anything yet. My neighbors are taking the kids, all four of them (crazy people) to the movies tomorrow so that Josh and I can go shopping. So, I am going to get up and make breakfast pizza for them before they take the kids.

I just tried to scan some of my pics from the wedding, but they came out too dark. I can't change the setting because it's a work scanner, but I think I can use a friend's comp over the weekend to scan and post them.

I am late getting into the Christmas spirit too!!! My realtor is giving me a Christmas surprise (his words) so that I'll have money for Christmas presents. He's selling my house for me, and he will just take the money out of whatever money we get from that. I hope it's at least $500 so that I can go a little bit crazy for Christmas this year. lol
