My sister called me today to see what time I was planning on being at mom and dad's tomorrow (for our 'Thanksgiving' dinner) so I tell her 5pm. I have to cook the food to bring over there, go pick up pies from the bakery, and my dad has to eat by 5:30 (he's diabetic) so I thought that would be a good time.
So then she goes off asking why I made such a big deal about spending time with the family and I wasn't coming till then :irked: She said "I know you won't want to stay all night" (which I don't) so what she thinks I am gonna just eat and run? Even I am not that cold :snide:
She also said how hurt mom was that we weren't having dinner on Thanksgiving day ... I was willing to do that but she isn't going to be there and both my brothers have to work! So why is she pushing me ... wtf is her problem?! :hothead:
So I called my dad again to make sure he would be ok with eating between 5:00-5:30, he said he was fine with the plan I had came up with.
My sister is also the only one who hasn't submitted her ideas for the gift exchange drawing ... we are suppose to do it tomorrow night.
Ugh, I can't win ... but at least the majority of people are happy, or at least they are pretending to be.

Families are just like every other group. Not everyone is going to ever be happy. I think there is drama in every family and unfortunately the holidays can bring the worst out in some people. Don't let her ruin your holiday. It'll be fine.

It's unfortunate that family has to act this way. My mom was telling me that I should drive to see her even though I'm pregnant now and we will have like a six month old next winter for Christmas! I thought, jesus, That's just rude!! But I think family think that they have a license to be rude to the people around them and they don't! They think just cause they are related by blood they can be assholes. You'll just have to tell her to mind her own **** business, I guess! If Dad says it's ok then go by what he says and ignore your sisters hurtful and uncalled for comments!! take care Brandi!! Wishing you the best!

So sorry Brandi that this drama has not ended for you. By the sounds of it your sister is the only one with the problem you have bent over backwards to make everyone happy. I wouldn't worry about if she is the only one with the problem best of luck to you tonight on your dinner...

I called her last night to get her gift ideas for the gift exchange drawing and acted like nothing happened (as did she) I've decided to try not to let her get to me. I still don't understand why she says and does some of the things she does, but I don't have to answer to her :snide:
I have talked to my mom and dad and they are fine with everything (or at least telling me they are) so I am gonna be happy and try to have a nice night.
Thanks for all your comments and for letting me vent
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

The weather in canada is so unpredictable and for a change they can come to me! I am not putting my new baby in the position to travel next Christmas, I will not do it.
