Do any of you have pictures of the cakes that you want?

This is the one we are going to get.

As some of you know we are getting married on top of a mountain. The first time we hiked up my FH carved our names in the tree and the date. So now everytime we go up we carve the new year. I thought this would be perfect for the type of wedding we want. We are not going to have the golf balls and tees around the bottom though, we will replace them with silk leaves.

I would love to see what you all have in mind for your cake.

That is such a cool cake!

I'm not quite sure what we'll be going with yet. That's one of our next things to tackle. We've got some baker ideas at the moment and I've been ravaging through bridal magazines looking at pictures. One of the bakers I looked at rents out books, so that's the next stop for me.

Good luck choosing yours! And the stump is adorable!

I fell in love with this cake the second I saw it. I knew that I had to have it. It is so totally me! The black icing really upset my mother who believes that a wedding cake should be white from icing to filling. But I figure if we all have black teeth, no one can say anything.

You can find tons of cake pictures right here on the internet. I am sure most bakers would be able to duplicate anything you find. Try googling wedding cakes or go a wedding site, they usually have pictures too. Good luck!!

Are many of you having Grooms Cakes? What flavors are you going with?

Thanks for the compliments on the cake girls. I have been collecting Middle Eastern art since I was a kid so it was the only natural choice.

As for the groom's cake we aren't doing one. At the wedding we are having a cookie display, chocolate fountain, and wedding cake. We don't need anyone going into sugar shock. Maybe for the rehersal dinner but that is totally up to FMIL.

Yall have some very pretty pictures of cakes. Because of the original place we were going to have our reception, I thought it would be better for me to do the cupcake wedding cake thing, but since we have decided to have the reception at our new house, Ill actually get to decorate the way I really wanted with lights and candles, AND have an actual wedding cake. Im still looking to see what I like though.
I doubt we will have a grooms cake. Havent thought about it much.

I think the cake I am going to do may actually be a grooms cake, but I love it so much I am just going to use it for our wedding cake. I don't think we will do a grooms cake. Do you usually have that at the wedding or the rehersal? I know nothing about etiquette. I'm just winging it! :D

The groom's cake is a southern tradition, and it's customarily been served at the rehearsal dinner. Anything goes, though, these days and many couples have it at the wedding.

We're doing a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cheesecake for the groom's cake because that's what Carlo wants. He's got good taste!

MMMmmm sounds yummy!! We're not having a rehersal dinner so I guess I could do it at the wedding if he wants one. I'll have to ask him.

bnd....Im with you, Im just winging it. Im 32 years old and feel like total idiot when it comes to trying to plan my wedding.
We arent having a rehearsal dinner either. I show up, he shows up....what do we need to rehearse?

I think that the whole rehearsal dinner thing is this:

Rehearse eating without making a mess all over yourself!!

I'm a messy eater, and trust me, if I'm wearinf white (or somehing close to it) whatever I'm eating will take a detour and wind up on my dress..

I want a banana cake and my groom really wants strawberry (it's his fave). I thought we were going to go with different flavored tiers, but now that I've seen the xbox and game cube, I'm thinking maybe we'll do a groom's cake...lol.

I wonder how much food any of us will actually get to eat. I have heard alot of brides either don't have time or they aren't hungry. I will probably be too excited to eat.

This bride will be eating her little heart out. We are having a sit down dinner. Sean and I are being served first at out own little private table for two. It is too small to have too many people gathered around it. Our coordinator says she has never had a bride not eat with that set up.

Yeah, I probably won't have seconds by any means, but I will want to eat. When I get nervous, I end up all jittery, and if I don't eat, I'll get nauseous.

I second the definitely eating part. While I may not be woofing down a ton...chances are I won't have eaten much the few days/week/month before...I tend to loose my appetite when I get really into planning something and excited about it. Guess becoming a wedding planner would be a great diet for me. LOL
