When its at my moms I grab the whole leg, everyone knows the legs are mine and my sisters, at FH's sisters house I feel odd so I just eat whatever was cut and is sitting there, she usually eats all of the skin if it is crispy :( LMAO I answered before you gave the choices OOPS LOL

Baked i think. Baked in the oven for a couple hours. I love how the whole house will smell of turkey and all the fixens. YUM! I wish we were having Thanksgiving soon. I want some Turkey!

Feel free to celebrate American Thanksgiving!

We usually make it roasted. Fried is good but for what it is worth it is too much of a pain to cook it that way, IMO.

Normally we eat at my parents house and dad always deep fries it. I love it this way. But since we are doing our own this year I am roasting it instead. We don't have the deep fryer. bummer.

We roast ours. I've always wanted to try the fired turkey, but I'm not likely to try it myself! I'll stick with roasting it in the oven for a few hours! Like Jenn, I love the way my house smells as it's cooking. YUMMY!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I always thought that roast was the word for putting the meat in the oven and basically baking it.

That's what I thought too ;)

I looked it up online and found this ...
Baking vs. Roasting (http://www.bluesuitmom.com/food/jorj/roasting.html)

"What is the difference between baked and roasted?"

Answer: Basically the cooking term "baking" refers to the method of cooking food in the dry heat of an oven. According to Williams-Sonoma Cooking Companion (Time Life Books 2000), the terms "baking" and "roasting' equally refer to the method of cooking uniform pieces of meat, poultry or vegetables in a small amount of fat or liquid in an open pan or dish in the hot, dry air of the oven. "Baking" is most usually associated with the process of making baked goods like cakes, pies and cookies. While "roasting" generally refers to meats, poultry, large fish, and vegetables.

Many cooking terms are easily interchanged. The one thing to remember is which cooking method is best for the food you want to prepare.

I didn't know that. I always considered anything that was put in the oven to be baked and anything done in a roasting pan to be roasted. I guess they are the same!!! I guess you learn something new every day.

We always BBQ ours outside on the grill with mesquite chips. It is always so yummy that way. One year we did fry it in oil, but it wasn't as good as BBQing it. :)

I voted bake because that's the way that my family cooks it but to be honest with you I hate turkey and I think it tastes like saw dust so I don't really eat turkey!
